i uninstalled and re-installed it 3 times with no change and i did run wlarp repair and it still the same i have lots of memory and disk space i don’t think its that, please help.

We would like you to do a clean uninstall of Wndows Live Mail. To do this, we’ll first need to remove the registry keys associated with the previous Live Mail installation. Before you edit the registry, please make sure to back it up. It is highly recommended that you know how to restore the registry just in case a problem occurs.

Then, please follow the steps below on how to do the clean removal process:

Please follow the steps below on how to repair Windows Live Mail:

1. Go to Control Panel.

2. Under Programs, click Uninstall a Program.

3. Locate Windows Live Essential then click Uninstall/Change.

4. When a window appears, select Repair all Windows Live programs.

5. Restart your computer after the repair.

If the issue persists I suggest you to remove & re-add the account & check if the issue persists.

Thank you for your suggestion. I have repaired it but this solution didn’t work. However, can you promise if i remove my windows live mail and then re-add the account in my windows 10 again, i won’t lost any data of my windows live mail? By the way, after i re-add the account , will my windows live mail work as before? I am really urgent to solve this issue asap.

Mohammed, this is a very dangerous statement. Removing an account from Windows Live Mail permanently deletes all the account folders and all the messages in them. There is even a warning to this effect displayed before you confirm that you really want to remove the account:

Only in certain circumstances will the folders and messages be recovered after the account is added back.

The error encountered by the OP is not dependent on any mail account, so there is absolutely no need to remove and re-add any account if the error is corrected by repairing the installation.

I have repaired it but this solution didn’t work.

You didn’t say which version of the program you’re using on which version of Windows. If you found Windows Live Essentials in the Programs and features listing, you may be using an outdated version.

The error you’re seeing indicates that the Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant service isn’t running when you launch the program. This should happen automatically, but it can apparently be disturbed by the sign-in to Windows 8.1 or 10.

Please post back with the versions. To find your program version, in Windows Live Mail press Alt-H A. If that does not show you the build number, press Escape twice and then Alt-F B.

To find your operating system, press Windows key + R, type winver into the box and press Enter.

FIX: Windows Live Mail Memory Error 0x80041161

Error 0x80041161 is a windows live mail error which comes up when your computer is not able to start Windows Live Mail program. It is usually due to a service issue, which may have been disabled or is not running or it may, have been corrupted. Before going ahead with the steps in this guide, make sure you’re not logged in to your system in a Safe Mode. If you are logged into Safe Mode, your system will load with minimum graphics and only the “services and applications” required by Windows, which will interfere with the steps in this guide. The error 080041161 usually looks like this.

Type services.msc and Click OK

Locate the service called windows live-id sign assistant right click this service and select Properties. Make sure it is set to start Automatically and the status is started, if not set it to start automatically and manually start it by right click on this service and selecting Start.

Once done, re-open Windows Live Mail.

If the issue is still not resolved, then it highly possible that your Windows User Profile is corrupt so a new user profile is required:

Click Start and type Control Panel. Go to Control Panel and search for User Accounts setting by typing User Accounts in the search bar. Choose, Create a new user account, set a password (if needed). Log off the current account and sign into the new account. Test Windows Live Mail, if it works there then copy data from your old profile to the new profile from C:\Users.

Method 2: Use the built-in repair tool

Windows Live Mail is part of the Windows Live Essentials package, and Windows has a built-in tool that can repair all of the apps in the Essentials package. Finding and using it is fairly easy as long as you follow the steps below:

1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard, and type in Add or Remove Programs if you have Windows 7 or older, and Change or Remove a Program if you have a newer version.
2. Open the result, and you should be presented with a list of software installed on your computer. Search for Windows Live Essentials, if sorted alphabetically it should be near the bottom of the list. Double-click

4. Once you’ve done this, you will need to add your mail account again.
