Laptop : HP Pavilion DV 6 — 6019 TX.

OS : Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit (Already Upgraded from Windows 8.1 Pro 64 Bit).

VGA : — AMD Radeon 6770m

Now, the graphic was error, each after booting, the windows logo appears then to black screen (can’t get the desktop).

In device manager — display adapters, only AMD problem (Microsoft Basic Display Adapter), then I uninstall the driver to be able to install AMD drivers.

I tried with «14-4-mobility-win7-Win8-win8.1-64-dd-ccc-WHQL», it is said that the last AMD drivers, but when at the end of install, it said failed to complete.

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I have read your entire issue, and fortunately, there aren’t any drivers that can help you. This product only has supported Windows 7 drivers, as indicated here: HP Pavilion dv6-6019tx Entertainment Notebook PC Drivers

My suggestion is to return the computer to Windows 7. This will fix the issue

Yeah i know, went i bought this product use windows 7 ultimate, but before 1 year, this broke my internal HDD and fan. Because of that, i think to not use windows 7 again.

I also try windows 8 pro 64 bit before, that no problems with any driver, also not broke HDD and fan. But i don’t know why in windows 8.1 some driver not work after update

Well, link it’s correct now.

If you have windows 8 or 8.1 (x64) with AMD 6770m and Intel HD 3000 then:

1. Disable install automatically drivers from Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2500967, method 1

2. In Control Panel, Programs and Features, uninstall all AMD and Intel video controllers

3. In Control Panel, Device Manager, uninstall display adapters for both and select Delete the driver software for this device, view http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr. (v=vs.85).aspx. Restart

5. Install last Intel drivers: win64_152822.exe Restart

6. Install last AMD drivers: 14-4-mobility-win7-win8-win8.1-64-dd-ccc-whql, restart

7. In Catalyst, preferences, advanced view

8. Enable install automatically drivers from Microsoft (1.)

9. All work: mode dynamic, mode fixed, etc.

1. I install initially with Bios in dynamic mode

2. If you have win8x32, i don’t know.

Our pc’s are different in processor: you have » 2nd Generation Intel Core i3/i5/i7 Mobile Processor (Spring 2011)» and me it’s » 2nd Generation Intel Core i3/i5/i7 Mobile Processor (Fall 2011)». My AMD have 2GB and your AMD have 1GB. But both have HD3000.

In theory, it’s not it’s problem. You have other options:

1. Review bios update F.1B (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5077. Addionally, review if you have dynamic and fixed options, and select dynamic previous install

2. Repeat my installation. Don’t work?

3. Windows 8.1 installed automatically intel HD3000 and AMD 6770m from Windows Update, and this should work. You don’t found? Review optionals updates.

4. Use drivers alternatives: leshcat or guru3d

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. — Graphic Adapter WDDM1.3 — AMD Radeon HD 6700M Series
Release July 2014

(AMD Driver from Windows Update)

so, i must install bios mod or how? i don’t have any idea again

1. In bios, do you found fixed and dynamic? if you don’t found, install bios mod. Use dynamic

2. Uninstall all programs and drivers previously, before of » Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. — Graphic Adapter WDDM1.3 — AMD Radeon HD 6700M Series» Release July 2014. You can use http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU, for example.

3. Do you install windows 8.1 on windows 8.0? do you use windows 8.1 fresh installation? Can you testing install a new copy of windows 8.0 fresh? install drivers and later install updates. or fresh install windows 8.1?

4. You testing install Windows 7 with http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55092.exe and update to windows 8?

NOTE: Excuse me my bad english, I try to help you. You should install drivers in order: Intel Chipset Device Software, Intel Rapid Storage Technology, Intel Management Engine Interface (6-series / 7-series / 8-series / 9-series) and then AMD software: http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-drivers-software-forum/556469-drivers-hp-dv6-4xxx-dv6-6xxx-dv7-5x.

NOTE 2: My computer support Windows 8.1 native, but your computer not. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5077. will be no new official drivers for these devices

NOTE 3. Test leshcat or guru3d drivers, and review forum respectively

5 mins, the notebook will shut down by itself.

I’ve run thru all the testing & troubleshoot, and noticed it is the display driver issue, for both AMD Radeon 6770m and Intel HD 3000 driver.

It’s obvious it’s when install the video card driver, it will become black screen, before it still can load into the OS with basic graphic display driver, plus I can go into safe mode.

Here some point forms what I’ve performed for the troubleshoot,

  1. 1.) Download and installed AMD Catalyst and also Radeon Crimson Edition with the latest and available driver.
  2. 2.) Run the full test on HP Diagnostic Tool for hardware, all passed.
  3. 3.) Windows 10 auto-update to find the driver for AMD Radeon 6770m and Intel HD 3000 driver, doesn’t work at all.

Below is my detail of the Pavilion,

HP Pavilion dv6-6114TX

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2630M CPU @ 2.00GHz

Embedded video card: Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000

Video: Radeon (TM) HD 6770M

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home Build 10586 (updated from Windows 7 Home)

Please I really need some assist on solving this issue urgently, your help is much appreciated, thanks.

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I understand you are receiving the error code 43 after installing the graphics drivers, don’t worry I’ll be glad to help you out, however, for an accurate solution I will need more details:

Have you installed a retail copy of Windows or OEM version?

Have you tried to update the drivers either using Windows update or using HP Support Assistant.

Have you tried to run a test on the video card from F2?

In the meantime, let’s try these steps here:

Let’s start off by performing a Hard reset on the notebook:

Before power resetting your computer, do the following:

Disconnect or remove all peripheral devices. Start up the laptop and test the computer by itself, and then reconnect one peripheral device at a time.

Turn over the computer and look for a battery compartment door.

If there is a battery compartment, use the steps in Reset a laptop with a removable battery.

If there is no battery compartment, use the steps in Reset a laptop with a sealed or non-removable battery.

I recommend to restore the BIOS defaults. You could restore the BIOS with this document selecting the reloading the BIOS default settings. That way it will look at the Hardware installed on the Notebook.

Once done, restart the computer and check.

Next thing, I would suggest here is to Run Windows Updates troubleshooter —

Download and install the troubleshooter from this link.

Now try to perform Windows Updates —

1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.
2) Check for updates.
3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

If the issue persists, I would suggest here is to uninstall the display drivers on your PC from device manager.

Right-Click on start button> click device manager> expand display adapters>then select the display drivers that are listed and right-click on it and uninstall the drivers.

Check the box that states delete the software for this device.

Now restart the computer and then update the Bios, Chipset and graphics card drivers on your PC either from our HP support website, using this link or download it using HP Support Assistant

Download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.

Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.

If the issue persists, I would suggest here is to download and install the latest display drivers from the manufacturer’s website.

I would recommend you go ahead and download and install AMD detect tool -Click here

Once you have downloaded the AMD detect tool on your PC, please go ahead and uninstall thee display drivers from Device manager.

Once done, restart the computer and then double click on the AMD detect file which you have saved and click on Run, follow the procedure to install the display drivers.

Once done, restart the computer and check how it goes.

Could you please respond to this post with the details and with the results of the troubleshooting as this will help me in further assisting you.

Eagerly waiting for your response!

that said, If the information I’ve provided was helpful,

give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

that’ll help us and others see that we’ve got the answers!
