Re: Lenovo T60 WINDOWS 7 unknown device Intel 82801GBM (ICH7-M) LPC interface Controller — 27B9
That appears to be part of the Intel chipset, so my first suggestion would be to try installing the Intel chipset driver software. The latest version can be found here on Intel’s support web site.

Re: Lenovo T60 WINDOWS 7 unknown device Intel 82801GBM (ICH7-M) LPC interface Controller — 27B9
Dear Mr. Aryeh Goretsky,
Thank you for your rapid replay!
Unfortunately the result is the same — negative. After installation Chipset drivers you recommended, in device manager there is the same «Unknown device», but something is changed:
Digital signature MS WINDOWS, so it means that the driver is installed.
But why there is the «unknown device» in this case?
I tryed to delete «Unknown device» — after rebooting — the system was halted with the «BLUE SCREEN» 🙁
In Device Manager there is information that «unknown device» is «not using the computer’s resourses».
The same time it seems to me the computer is working normally — I do not find any other computer problems with it.
So may be the better way is to work with the computer more and than may be some faults will occur and than when I’ll have the real problem it will be the simlest way to find the solution? 🙂
Now the only problem with my computer — it is the «unknown device» in device manager.
Thank you once more for your kind attention to my problem.
If you will have another idea, I am ready to try to implement it on practice.
Thank you once more,

Re: Lenovo T60 WINDOWS 7 unknown device Intel 82801GBM (ICH7-M) LPC interface Controller — 27B9
It sounds like an additional device driver beyond what is provided with Intel’s chipset drivers is required. Intel also has a set of drivers for the hard disk drive controller available for download here on their support web site.
Does installing that make any difference?

Re: Lenovo T60 WINDOWS 7 unknown device Intel 82801GBM (ICH7-M) LPC interface Controller — 27B9
Thank you for your help, but the result is again negtive! 🙁
During installation the software asked; You have modern driver v. 9.6.0.1014, do you wish to change it to old one v. 8.9.0.1023? —> Yes! —> the same result: Unknown device.
I have switched this device OFF — nothing! Unknown device, and notebook it seems to me is working good — the same like before. There is no problems!
It seems to me that it is the better way to reinstall WINDOWS 7 from formatting hdd and during installation to try to install additional drivers.
May be you have more ideas?
Thank you for your cooperation!

Perhaps the missing piece of hardware is part of something else, then. Before you go through re-installing Microsoft Windows 7, try downloading and installing Lenovo’s ThinkVantage System Update software. It detects missing ThinkVantage software and device drivers and may be able to identify the missing device driver and install it on your ThinkPad T60.

Re: Lenovo T60 WINDOWS 7 unknown device Intel 82801GBM (ICH7-M) LPC interface Controller — 27B9
It’s probably the Atmel Trusted Platform Module. Check it’s properties in Device Manager, and if the hardware ID is ACPI\ATM1200, that’s it!
You don’t actually need to have drivers if you are not using the TPM.
You can force the Lenovo Vista driver to install.
Hope this helps!

Re: Lenovo T60 WINDOWS 7 unknown device Intel 82801GBM (ICH7-M) LPC interface Controller — 27B9
I already have installed ThinkVantage System Update software. When I tryed to update there is a message: «Tere is no update package for your computer» (befor that I have performed all WINDOWS 7 updates from Microsft server). The situation is the same now: «Unknown device. «
I’m afraid that Intel 82801GBM (ICH7-M) LPC interface Controller — 27B9 — is supported only by WINDOWS XP OS. May be it is little bit «old hardware» and Microsoft (or Intel) is not support it?
Do you know is it possible to ask the question about my problem to LENOVO technical specialists ?
I found only this forum possibility! 🙁 May by they have a reach expirience how to solve this problem?
Thank you for your good idea with the system update!
I think that it is very important after «clear» WINDOWS 7 installation to install firstly modern INTEL Chipset driver. Is in it? Or it is true only for WINDOWS XP/2000 ?

Thank you for your idea too!
But Trusted Platform Module have successful installed driver in device manager! It is indicated in device manager list.
But the same time I’ll check your suggestion about TPM and force the Lenovo Vista driver.
After some hours I’ll inform you about the results!
(I really do not want to reinstall WINDOWS 7 . but if there is no another ways. It shold be done!)
Thank you for your recommendation!
