Adobe air linux 64 bit deb

Install Adobe AIR 2 for 64-bit Linux systems

Note: Beginning June 14 2011, Adobe AIR is no longer supported for desktop Linux distributions. Users can install and run AIR 2.6 and earlier applications but can’t install or update to AIR 2.7. The last version to support desktop Linux distributions is AIR 2.6. AIR 2.6 is available from the AIR Archive.

Why did Adobe decide to discontinue further support for Adobe AIR for desktop Linux®?

As the market shifts to mobile devices, Adobe is investing in bringing its runtime technologies to new hardware and operating systems. Adobe is increasingly investing in mobile authoring. The recent Creative Suite 5.5 release is focused on enabling customers to deliver their experiences across devices using Adobe’s technologies. Adobe has responded to the changing market trends by providing AIR support for a growing number of platforms. These platforms include Android, iOS and BlackBerry Tablet OS, televisions, and set-top boxes. Lifetime AIR for Linux desktop downloads represent less than 0.5% of total AIR desktop downloads, which number over 450 million. Therefore, Adobe has decided to change the distribution model for Linux and direct these resources toward its mobile efforts. Adobe’s efforts are focused on supporting operating systems that are most important to its customers, and that demonstrate the greatest opportunity for future growth for our partners and developers. Adobe continues to provide partners the opportunity to license source code through the Open Screen Project. You can download AIR 2.6, the last version to support Linux, at the archive build page.

I currently use the AIR SDK for Linux on my build server; how does this announcement affect this process?

Adobe no longer supports the full AIR developer SDK for desktop Linux implementations. And, the AIR Debug Launcher (ADL) is no longer supported in the SDK.

64-bit binaries of AIR are currently not available. Running 32-bit AIR on 64-bit systems has not been fully tested. However, Adobe expects 32-bit AIR to run on supported distributions if the required 32-bit libraries and packages are installed. (Supported distributions include Fedora Core 11, Ubuntu 9.04 and OpenSuSe 11.1.)

If you do not have the required 32-bit dependencies on your system, you can see the following errors on running the AIR installer:

Description

64-bit binaries of AIR are not currently available. Running 32-bit AIR on 64-bit systems has not been fully tested. However, Adobe expects 32-bit AIR to run on these systems if they have the required 32-bit libraries and packages installed. The following instructions describe how to install AIR 1.5 on the 64-bit versions of Ubuntu 7.10, 8.0 and 9.04, Fedora 8 and 10, and openSUSE 11.

For all installations

For certain Adobe AIR applications, make sure that kwallet/keyring is enabled and running on your machine.

Download AIR 1.5 for Linux

Adobe AIR 1.5 for Linux is available here: http://get.adobe.com/air/.

Required 32-bit Packages/Libraries

  • Packages — lib32asound2 lib32gcc1 lib32ncurses5 lib32stdc++6 lib32z1 libc6 libc6-i386
  • Other libraries — libnss3.so.1d libnssutil3.so.1d libsmime3.so.1d libssl3.so.1d libnspr4.so.0d libplc4.so.0d libplds4.so.0d

The steps below specify the sources of these packages and libraries.

Install AIR 1.5 on 64-bit Fedora 8

No manual installation workarounds are required. By default, AIR works fine on the 64-bit version of Fedora 8.

Install AIR 1.5 on 64-bit Fedora 10

To install AIR 1.5 on Fedora 10, perform the following steps:

Install AIR 1.5 on 64-bit Ubuntu 7.10, 8.04, and 9.04

To install AIR 1.5 on Ubuntu 7.10, 8.0 and 9.04, manually install the 32-bit files by following these directions:

Install the 32-bit binary files using the getlibs utility, which is available here: http://frozenfox.freehostia.com/cappy/getlibs-all.deb. This utility helps you install 32-bit applications on 64-bit systems by downloading and installing the required libraries.

Установка Adobe AIR в Ubuntu

Adobe Air

Air Ubuntu

Adobe Air

Adobe Air Application Installer»

Установка air файла в Ubuntu

Ubuntu

Troubleshoot AIR installation | Linux

Adobe AIR is a computer program known as a runtime. It is necessary to have Adobe AIR on your computer to run certain applications. Applications that require Adobe AIR are called Adobe AIR applications.

Most Adobe AIR problems are related to having the correct version of Adobe AIR. Before you begin troubleshooting your problem, get the latest version of Adobe AIR for your operating system. Adobe AIR is available for free.

Note: Beginning June 14, 2011, Adobe AIR is no longer supported for desktop Linux distributions. Users can install and run AIR 2.6 and earlier applications but will not be able to install or update to AIR 2.7.The last version to support desktop Linux distributions is AIR 2.6. AIR 2.6 is available from the AIR Archive.

Before you begin troubleshooting, perform the following tasks:

Determine the version of Adobe AIR on your computer

An Adobe AIR application requires a minimum version of Adobe AIR. Typically, the Adobe AIR application’s installation program makes sure that your computer has the correct version of Adobe AIR. If necessary, the Adobe AIR application downloads and installs the latest version of Adobe AIR.

You can check which version of Adobe AIR is installed on your computer. To do so, follow the steps provided here.

However, you can get an older version of Adobe AIR here.

The installation program installs Adobe AIR at the following location for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Linux:

The Adobe AIR installation log file can help you troubleshoot your installation problem. You can also use the log’s contents if you post a question to the Adobe AIR installation issues forum.

Locate and view the installation log file

For Adobe AIR 1.0 to 1.5.3, see this document for more information.

You can find the install log at the following location for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Linux:

Common Installation Problems

Adobe AIR could not be installed. No Authentication tools were found on the system.

You are seeing this error because Adobe AIR was unable to detect any supported authentication tools on the system. Adobe AIR requires root privileges and can elevate a normal user to root for installation of Adobe AIR and Adobe AIR applications. Such problems arise when you don’t have the tools to switch from a normal user to root user. See the following document for more details:

AIR app installation crash with AIR 1.5.x on certain Fedora Core / OpenSuse systems

On certain Fedora Core and OpenSuse systems, an AIR application installation can crash. This issue does not occur in AIR 2.0, but the workaround for AIR 1.5.x is to rename the «/etc/opt/Adobe/certificates/crypt» folder:

Problem with badge installation

For badge installation of an Adobe AIR application, sometimes developers set the WMode attribute as «transparent» or «opaque» (windowless modes) in the HTML embed tag. Using these attributes result in badge installation problems on Linux platforms. Also, it sometimes leads to «Error #2044: Unhandled ErrorEvent:. text=Error #2074: The stage is too small to fit the download ui.» The following document details steps for Adobe AIR application developers to correct the issue:

Problem with Encrypted Local Storage (ELS)

Adobe AIR applications on Linux are sometimes not able to access the Encrypted Local Storage (ELS) keystore. This issue results in the Adobe AIR application displaying behaviors such as hanging or displaying an empty window on launch.Or, it’s possible that the save password feature doesn’t work. This document details some of the frequent problems encountered while using ELS and steps to solve them whenever possible:

64-bit issue. «package architecture (i386) does not match system (amd64)»

On Ubuntu 64-bit OS, when you try to install the AIR Debian package, you receive this error. To proceed with the installation, run the following command:

64-bit binaries of Adobe AIR are currently not available. Running 32-bit Adobe AIR on 64-bit systems has not been fully tested. However, Adobe expects 32-bit Adobe AIR to run on its supported distributions (Fedora Core 11, Ubuntu 9.04 and OpenSuSe 11.1). (It’s necessary that the required 32-bit libraries and packages are installed.) See the following document for more details:
