Illustrator CC Installer for Linux

This bash script helps you to install Adobe Illustrator CC on your Linux distro easily. It will download a free version of Illustrator and tries to run it using wine installed on your system

1- use a 64bit edition of your distro

2-make sure the following packages are already installed on your Linux distro

if they are not already installed you can install them using your package manager for example in arch Linux

3- make sure you have enough storage in your /home partition about 2 GiB

400 MiB will be free after installation

also you can install illustrator in diffrent directory

4- make sure you have an internet connection and about 400 Mib traffic to download illustrator

the installer scripts use a virtual drive of wine and makes a new winprefix for illustrator

first of all, you need to clone the repository with this command:

then you can easily run setup.sh script to install illustrator cc on your Linux distro

you can use -d to specify the installation path, and -c for the cache directory. for example:

when no options are given, the installer script will use the default path, the uninstaller script and others will detect your custom path so there is no problem, I recommend using the -d option and having the default cache directoy

if you need to configure the wineprefix of illustrator you can use winecfg.sh script just run the command below

to uninstall illustrator you can use the uninstaller script with commands below

How to install Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator on Ubuntu 16.04/18.04

Here is a simple guide to install Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator on your Ubuntu 16.04 or Ubuntu 18.04 very easily!

Dependencies:

First of all install we need to install some packages before we go in to the AP or AI installations.

This should install Wine on your Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, but if you are having problems with installing it on your Ubuntu 16.04 then please follow these instructions.

Now that Wine is installed we need to install another application called “PlayonLinux” it provides a beautiful interface for “Wine” and we should also be able to install some other dependencies through “PlayOnLinux”

PlayOnLinux:

This should install playonLinux on your Ubuntu 18.04 and if you’re having problems installing it on your Ubuntu 16.04 with the same command, then you should go to the Ubuntu Software Center and just search for “PlayOnLinux” it is available there and you should be able to install it!

Now let’s get to the part where we install Adobe Photoshop:

Simply search for “playonlinux” in Dash and click on the PlayOnLinux icon:

Now a beautiful interface like this will open:

Just click on “Install a program” from the menu

Now you will see another window like this, just navigate to the “Graphics” tab and click on the “Adobe Photoshop CS6” , and if you can’t see it, you can just search for it in the search bar:

*I am skipping a window in which you just have to click on next*

Now you should see a window like this, just click on the “Browse”

It will open a new window for you, asking for your “Setup.exe” (It can be name anything in your case but the extension must be .exe)

Now simple click on the next button

*During this time it will ask for installation of a few extra things, you just have to click on next or “ok” and please make sure you’re connected to the internet*

And it will start your installation

You will see a window like this, just click on “Try” (In the next post i will show you the method how can you install your cracks in wine)

If you see a window like this, just disconnect your internet and click on back!

Now click on “Install” to start the installation

The installation is just started

Of course click on “Next”

And BAAAMMMM.
