More installation options
Aerial is a macOS screensaver that lets you play videos from Apple’s tvOS screensaver. This includes classic Aerial videos shot over various cities and locations (New York, San Francisco, China. ), Earth videos from the ISS, and the new underwater videos introduced in tvOS 13. Starting with version 2.0, Aerial also includes videos from 3rd parties that kindly shared them, and you can also now add your own!
Aerial is completely free and open source. You can follow its development here on GitHub, and even participate if you want. You don’t have to be a developer, we always need help when it comes to translations in various languages, check here for more information (it’s easy !).

Weather Forecasts thanks to OpenWeather
Important crash fix
Some users in northern locations could experience crashes with previous versions, if using the adapt videos to your location feature, in the case where they didn’t experience an astronomical sunrise/sunset during this time of the year (users from Norway and Finland first reported the issue). Thanks for your patience, this bug is fixed in 2.3.2 and up.
A new weather API
Aerial now uses OpenWeather as a provider for its weather data, replacing the previous API that is no longer available.
I want to thank OpenWeather for their support of Open Source as on top of being able to show your current conditions, Aerial will *also* be able to show various forecasts:
More information is available from their API and based on interest, some new features should arrive in upcoming versions.
You will also notice new color icons. On macOS Big Sur, Aerial now uses Apple’s SF Symbols color icons. They will look sharper and they automatically adapt to the size of the font you pick in weather’s settings.
Better message options
Messages can now be multi line, and for the most complex scenarios, Aerial can periodically display the output of a shell script.
Still new, extra videos
After having introduced 20 extra videos in 2.0, Joshua Michaels & Hal Bergman listened to feedback and went back to work on improving them. With Aerial 2.2, you will get updated versions of those videos, many have been slowed down so they feel a lot more natural amongst the other Aerial videos, and they also have seen some optimization on video compression so they have better quality and take even less disk space ! A huge shoutout to them for their effort on this.
If you enjoy the updated videos, please consider supporting them by checking the video packs they have created especially for Aerial on their website, those too have all been updated with better compression and slower paced videos.

Apple TV Aerial Views
This screensaver brings all of the screensavers included in the Apple TV media device, featuring aerial views of New York, San Francisco, China, Hawaii and other places (by day and/or night), to your Mac OS X or Microsoft Windows computer. The screensaver features automatic updates of the latest available videos, an option to show a different aerial view whenever it starts, and the ability to add specific views to a list of favorites. Requires OS X version 10.9 (Mavericks) or newer, or Windows version 7, 8 or 10.

I love this screensaver, but this is definitely a battery hog when just using the OTA screensavers. If you download a lot of these screensavers it takes up a lot of storage so I like to use the screensaver OTA. Even on the M1 Macbook Pro the battery depletes rather rapidly using the screensaver that way. For that it gets 2 less stars.
Crashing many times. except it is good

doesnt work for 3 screens
I keep installing it but for some reason the screensaver stays the same every time. How do I change it?
Downloaded for both my iMac 27″, and MacBook Pro on Catalina and works perfect
Also installed on my Windows 10 Games machine and works well. You do however need a good graphics card on Win10, at least 2gb
Awesome screensaver! My only issue with it is that you can’t choose a specific one. A deticated button to choose a specific one would be nice. Also im missing the text that usually appears at the bottom for a biref moment

Says Windows Media Player can’t play the file.
Using it on Macbook Air with Mojave 10.14.2. The screen just goes blank when the screensaver is about to start. Any idea why?

Have I done it wrong? Downloading Aerial.saver.zip, unzipping . Contents folder does not have .saver file. Tried to simply rename .saver.zip to .saver, does not work either

Is there any way to make it offline? Or download just 2-3 video and set its path within the app? It’s bit disappointing that I need to connect to internet everytime to use this.
It is — or rather was — truly stunning screensaver, however as soon as you move to Mojave (am on the latest Beta version) it ceases to function!!
Great screen saver. However, I am beta testing MacOS 10.14 (Mojave) and the screen saver does not work with that version. It will need to be updated.
Running MacBookPro14,2 with macOs 10.13.5 (17F77) I’ve experienced total jamming after a few seconds of beautiful scenery view. Looked like synchronisation issue of display, healed as soon as clock is set to be displayed. Then, just awesome!
This screen saver is not working on my Windows 10 machine. I think it would be very beautiful, but can’t get it to work.
Not working, any special requirements
Hands down, this is THE BEST SCREENSAVER I have ever come across.
Great screensaver but only works while clock is displayed.
This screensaver is excellent and is an amazing piece of software. However i had discovered a bug where certain screensavers appear to shake in a glitchy fashion. Almost as if it it is trying to adjust to a different screen resolution. I would really like this fixed to have a perfect screensaver.
