Individual accounts cost approximately $19 USD, and company accounts cost approximately $99 USD (the exact amounts may vary depending on your country or region). This is a one-time registration fee and no renewal is required.

You’ll need to sign in with a Microsoft account that you want to associate with your developer account. If you don’t already have a Microsoft account, you can get one when you start the signup process. You’ll also need to pay for the account using a Visa/Mastercard, PayPal (in supported locations), or a promo code. Note that prepaid credit cards are not accepted.

Individual accounts are for a single developer working on their own. Company accounts are for organizations and businesses. Company accounts give you access to submit apps with some additional functionality. We also require greater verification for company accounts after you register, to confirm that you’re authorized to set up the account for your company. This verification can take from a few days to a couple of weeks, and often includes a phone call to your company. Both types of accounts allow you to submit apps and services. You can register for your developer account and submit apps to the Microsoft Store if you live or operate a business in a supported country or region. The Azure program is available to developers who live or operate a business in a supported country or region.

With a developer account, you can submit apps and games to Microsoft marketplaces, including the Microsoft Store. Note that you’ll need to confirm your payout and tax info before you can charge money for products you publish.

Yes. You’ll need to use a Microsoft account to set up the account. The person identified by this Microsoft account will be the account owner and will have full control over the account. After the account has been created, you can associate your Partner Center account with your organization’s Azure Active Directory, and then add users to the account with the appropriate roles and permissions.

You may see this message if your Microsoft account uses an email address with a school or company domain. If you see a prompt indicating that your email is used with more than one account, choose Personal account to continue. If you are still unable to complete the account process, you may need to create a new Microsoft account using an email address that is not associated with your organization and use the new Microsoft account to register as a developer.

First, check that you’re trying to sign in with the Microsoft account that is associated with your developer account. If you are, you might see a prompt indicating that your email is used with more than one account; in that case, choose Personal account to continue. If you don’t see the prompt, and you’re sure you are using the right Microsoft account, contact support.

Note. If your organization uses Azure Active Directory to allow multiple users to access a developer account, make sure that you’re trying to sign in with the email address that your organization used to grant you access to the account, rather than signing in with a Microsoft account. If you’re still having problems, contact your organization’s Azure AD administrator for assistance.
