All games crash windows 10
I need some help. Not exactly a computer guru. So I recently downloaded the windows 10 64- bit update and the new NVIDIA driver and all my games are crashing. I’ve tried clearing the cache and it did nothing. I’ll get maybe 10 min of game play if it even makes it past the opening loading screen.
Details-
Windows 10 64-bit, up to date
GPU, GeForce 940M
CPU, Intel I7 6400 @ 2.50 GHZ
Current Driver version- 372.54
Please help I am completely at a loss and havent found anything usefull online.
Completely remove your old driver, then install the current Windows 10 driver for your GPU. Doing a driver update over an existing driver can cause problems.

I tried this and it didnt work. The games are still crashing. Now I have this default drive I cant get rid of. Everytime I uninstall it and restart my computer it’s still there. Driver 369.09
I’m going to need more information than «doesn’t work». What happens, exactly? Is there an error message, what does it say?
Sorry, I was unclear. You say

It an HP laptop. Came with W10 installed. Problems started after I updated W10 to it newest version. Tried updating to a newer drive as well, but the problem got worse. All were clean installs
I was trying to install an older driver like 368.81 or .69, but 369.09 keeps automatically reinstalling
Post the model number of that HP, please. Or use HP auto-detect tool from the official HP website to indentify the computer, then post the link here for us to see.
Is this the computer ? This is what I get when entering that exact number in the search on HP.
Nevermind..my mistake. I did not refresh the page.
EDIT..I see lots of brand newly released drivers there, as late as today actually. August 25th.
Have you installed all the latests drivers from there ?

Yeah, same model.
This is probably gonna come off really stupid, but can I use those drivers? I thought since I have a GeForce graphic card I had to use thier drivers as well.

Download and install EVERY driver from there except your GPU driver. GPU drivers are not the only drivers in a computer. GeForce does not update your other hardware drivers.
Make sure they are the latest version of driver. I see many there that are brand new, so if you have not done so, you should. Never use Windows update to update your drivers unless you have no other choice.
Get them from the official source, in this case, HP.
Do what the good habitualaction is suggesting here for GPU drivers, from Nvidia. You may have to perform a clean reinstall of them using DDU, for example but for now, system drivers from HP need to be made sure they are fully up to date.

Thank you that seems to have worked, I got Skyrim working again. I uninstalled a number of my other games in a last ditch effort in m frustrstion trying to get it to work again. Hopefully it will still hold up for some of the older games like FalloutNV
(SOLVED) Games crash after Windows 10 install
I just updated and then did a clean install of Windows 10. Everything works wonderfully, except every time I start a game, a popup comes up and says that it stopped working. For example, I started up Skyrim and the launcher works fine. I can select my display and graphics options. But once I click «Play», it goes to a black screen like it’s starting up, but then it stops and says «Skyrim has stopped working».
I tried running as administrator for both the launcher and the game itself. I also tried running it in compatibility mode with no success.
I have one of those NVIDIA Optimus machines, where it has dual graphics cards. When I force the game to use my Intel integrated card, it opens the game and works fine. But when it uses the NVIDIA card, it crashes like I mentioned before.
I made sure I have DirectX installed and updated, as well as my NVIDIA card driver updated. Windows Update says that it failed to install a driver to my computer, but I did a driver update check and I already have the latest version. I even went into the device manager and there don’t seem to be any conflicts. Also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the games, and restarting the computer multiple times. I also, did a fresh install and still no dice.
Windows 10 Home 64-bit
Intel Core i5 CPU M 480 @ 2.67GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GT 420M
Intel HD Graphics
Any idea what could be the problem?
Thanks for the help.
EDIT: Solved this issue. Needed to downgrade the drivers. I personally downgraded to 345.20 if that helps anyone.
All games crashing after Win 10 2004 update.
i have been having a problem playing any game since the win 10 2004 update. Every game crashes. the time are very inconsistent. sometime i play 2 min, and other times 25-45min. crashes very random. These games worked perfectly fine before the update, and my hardware is very capable. i have tried numerous so called fixes off the net but nothing works.
Is anyone else having these issues?
Hardware as follows

Let me just add that this is mainly happening on all my newer titles, like gear 5, horizon 4, world war z, rise of tomb raider etc.
Older ones like Rayman etc are still working perfectly.
I`ve tried it all, fresh install, disable anti virus, etc with same issue. Freeze then crash. Sometimes put computer in a state where I have to hold power button in

I can’t determine the specific cause of the crash from the event viewer logs. Did you encounter a bluescreen error? If yes, please upload the minidump files Windows created when you encountered BSOD. It will help us determine what caused the PC to crash.
1. Open Windows File Explorer
2. Go to C:\Windows\Minidump
3. Zip those files
4. Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive, DropBox . . . etc.).
5. Then share the link here.

This problem all started after the 2004 Update. My pc worked perfect before that, all games played without issue.
Windows should make this update Optional because it clearly has issues and is causing problems for many users across the globe. I hope it gets fixed soon. My alternative is to go back to console gaming when new gen releases. so i will wait and see.
