Question: Q: How do I pair my Samsung AllShare with my MacBook?

We just bought a new Samsung TV and the Smart Samsung Bluray player. We want to stream from the internet via AllShare but it is a PC application. Is there a way to access with an Apple app?

There is no App out for this yet. As you stated, this is a PC only application.

VUZE. Get the torrent downloader VUZE. Once you install that you will see an option on left hand side of the app. Device playback. Turn it on and then select your Samsung Blu Ray player or tv. Double click on it and you will see it say «Media For. » now that you have that you simply drag and drop any movie you want that is on your mac into it. Next go to allshare on your tv and find VUZE. You will see the blue frog icon that is VUZE. Then just connect and enjoy your movies. Unfortuanatly you cant use the actual allshare app, but trust me, VUZE is actually way easier!

Use VUZE torrent client. Vuze allows allshare and is also a torrent client , and can be replaced by bittorrent.

1. Install VUZE then on the left side bar , turn on DEVICE PLAYBACK.

2. Make sure your TV is connected with the same network(router) as your mac.

3. Your tv model will appear under device playback.

4. Now drag and drop the file you want to play on your TV inside the TV tab in VUZE.

5.Now open allshare from HUB on your TV, and if the file is inside downloads, open the download folder on your tv.

Share Mac files with Windows users

To let users connect to your Mac from a Windows computer, turn on file sharing and enable SMB sharing.

Set up file sharing on the Mac

On your Mac, choose Apple menu

> System Preferences, then click Sharing.

Select the File Sharing tickbox, then click Options.

Select “Share files and folders using SMB”.

In the Windows File Sharing list, select the tickbox next to the user account that will be used to share files with Windows users, enter the password for that user, then click OK.

Choose View > Network, select your active connection, then click Advanced.

Click the WINS tab, then enter the workgroup name used by the Windows computer.

If you don’t know the workgroup name, on the Windows computer open Control Panel > System and Security > System. (Windows computers normally use either WORKGROUP or MSHOME.)

Click OK, then click Apply.

Provide the information Windows users need

To connect to your Mac, Windows users need the network address for your Mac, and a username and password to use to log in to your Mac.

To find your Mac computer’s network address, choose Apple menu

> System Preferences, click Sharing, then select File Sharing. The address appears below the “File Sharing: On” indicator, and looks similar to this example: smb://17.212.167.33/.

Create an account on your Mac for each Windows user. To create accounts, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Users & Groups.

If you want to use an account that existed before you installed the latest version of macOS, you may need to reset the password for the account in Users & Groups preferences.

Because the passwords of user accounts used for Windows sharing may be stored in a less secure manner, turn off the account when it’s not being used. Before you turn off Windows sharing, turn off all the accounts you enabled. Otherwise, the passwords are still stored less securely.

Share the screen of another Mac

While your screen is being shared, the user of the other Mac sees what’s on your screen and can open, move and close files and windows, open apps, and even restart your Mac.

Before you start, make sure the Mac whose screen you want to view has screen sharing turned on. See Turn Mac screen sharing on or off.

Start a screen sharing session with another Mac

If you’ve been given permission, you can view and control the screen of another Mac on your network.

On the Mac you want to share, choose Apple menu

> System Preferences, click Sharing, select Screen Sharing, then note the name and address of the Mac (it’s listed on the right).

The name looks like “iMac (7)” or “Joe’s MacBook Pro”.

The address looks like vnc://[IPAddress] or vnc://[Name.Domain].

On your Mac, do one of the following:

Connect using the name: Click the Finder icon in the Dock to open a Finder window. In the Locations section of the sidebar, click Network, double-click the Mac you want to share, then click Share Screen.

If no items appear in the Locations section of the sidebar, hold the pointer over the word Locations, then click the arrow .

Connect using the address: In the Finder, choose Go > Connect to Server, enter the address of the Mac you want to share, then click Connect.

If prompted, enter your username and password, then click Sign In.

If both computers are logged in using the same Apple ID, the screen sharing session starts. If they’re not, you’re prompted to enter the username and password of a user who is allowed screen sharing access on that computer, or you can request permission to share the screen if the computer allows it.

If someone else is already connected to the Mac as a remote user, a dialogue asks if you want to share the display with the other remote user (Share Display) or log in concurrently using a different username and screen (Log In).

If you choose Log In, you share the Mac with the other remote user, but you won’t share the same screen.

Set screen sharing preferences

When you’re sharing the screen of another Mac, you can set screen sharing preferences to adjust the size and quality of the shared screen.

Choose Screen Sharing > Preferences, then set the following options:

Under Display, select “Scale to fit available space” or “Show full size”, depending on how large your screen is and how much of it you want to use for the shared screen. This option changes the default behaviour for when you share the screens of computers you’ve never connected to before. To change the current scale, choose View > Turn Scaling Off or View > Turn Scaling On.

Under Display, select a “Scroll the screen” option to determine how the screen sharing window behaves when you move the pointer. To decide which option you want, try each one by selecting it and then moving the pointer around in the window.

Under Quality, select “Adapt quality to network conditions” to view the shared screen more quickly, or “Show the screen at full quality” for a more detailed view of the shared screen. This option changes the default behaviour for when you share the screens of computers you’ve never connected to before. To change the current scale, choose View > Adaptive Quality or View > Full Quality.

For the best results, and if your Mac is connected to a fast network, view the screen at full size and show the screen at full quality.

Under Blocked Users, choose an option from the “Allow screen sharing requests from” pop-up menu to enable sharing your screen with either everyone who tries to connect to your computer using an Apple ID or just your contacts.

To block users with specific Apple IDs from sharing your screen, click the Add button , enter the user’s Apple ID, then click Block. To unblock users, select them in the list and click the Remove button .

Set view options while sharing another computer’s screen

When you’re sharing the screen of another Mac, your viewing options depend on your network connection and the size of the screen you’re sharing.

From the View menu, set the following options:

Show Tab Bar: Use this option to display or hide the tab bar.

Turn Scaling On/Off: With scaling on, the entire screen of the shared Mac is displayed on your screen. With scaling off, the shared screen is displayed full size, and might require you to scroll to see everything on the shared screen.

Switch to Observe Mode/Switch to Control Mode: In Observe mode, you can watch what’s happening on the shared screen, but you can’t control the pointer, move windows, open and close documents or do other tasks. If you’re observing OS X 10.9 or later, you can click and hold to highlight the screen at your pointer. In Control Mode, you control the shared screen.

Adaptive Quality: Use this option if your Mac is connected to a slower network. Adaptive quality adjusts depending on network speed.

Full Quality: Use this option if your Mac is connected to a fast network and you want full resolution.

Show/Hide Toolbar: Show or hide the toolbar that displays buttons for adjusting the scale, sharing the Clipboard and other options.

Customise Toolbar: Drag buttons into or out of the toolbar.

Enter Full Screen: The screen sharing window expands to fill your screen. To see the toolbar and menus, move the pointer to the top of the screen.

Displays: If the Mac whose screen you’re sharing has more than one display, you can choose which display you want to view.

Share the contents of the Clipboard with another Mac

When you’re sharing one computer’s screen with another computer, you can transfer information between the Clipboards of the two computers. For example, you can:

Copy text and images from documents on one Mac and paste them into documents on the other.

Select and drag text and images from one Mac to the other.

Copy a link from your web browser and paste it into a web browser on the other Mac.

Copy text from a document on one Mac and drop it on the desktop of the other Mac to create a clipping.

Choose Edit > Use Shared Clipboard.

You can also use Universal Clipboard to copy text, images, photos and video on one Apple device, and then paste the content on another Apple device.

Send files while sharing another computer’s screen

When you’re sharing one computer’s screen with another computer, you can transfer files between the two computers.

Select a file or folder, then drag and release the files over the screen sharing window.

Set up file sharing on Mac

You can share files and folders with others on your network. You can share your entire Mac with everyone or allow specific users access to only certain folders.

Set up file sharing

On your Mac, choose Apple menu

> System Preferences, then click Sharing.

Select the File Sharing tickbox.

To select a specific folder to share, click the Add button at the bottom of the Shared Folders list, locate the folder, select it, then click Add.

The Public folder of each user with an account on your Mac is shared automatically. To prevent a folder from being shared, select it in the Shared Folders list and click the Remove button .

Control-click the name of the folder, choose Advanced Options, select desired options, then click OK.

By default, any user set up on your Mac in Users & Groups preferences can connect to your Mac over the network. A user with an administrator account can access your entire Mac.

To give only specific users or groups access to a folder, select the folder in the Shared Folders list, click the Add button at the bottom of the Users list, then do one of the following:

Add users or groups from all users of your Mac: Select Users & Groups in the list on the left, select one or more names in the list on the right, then click Select.

Add users or groups from everyone on your network: Select Network Users or Network Groups in the list on the left, select one or more names in the list on the right, then click Select.

Add someone from your contacts and create a sharing-only account for them: Select Contacts in the list on the left, select a name in the list on the right, click Select, create a password, then click Create Account.

To specify the amount of access for a user, select the user in the Users list, click the pop-up menu next to the username, then choose one of the following:

Read & Write: The user can see and copy files to and from the folder.

Read Only: The user can view the contents of the folder but can’t copy files to it.

Write Only (Drop Box): The user can copy files to the folder but can’t view its contents.

No Access: The user can’t see or copy files from the folder.

Set advanced file sharing options

Use advanced file sharing options to set the protocol and other options for each shared file.

On your Mac, choose Apple menu

> System Preferences, click Sharing, then select File Sharing.

Control-click the name of the shared folder, then choose Advanced Options.

Select advanced options:

Allow guest users.

Only allow SMB encrypted connections.

Share as a Time Machine backup destination.

Guests can access shared folders on your Mac. To turn off guest access, deselect “Allow guest users to connect to shared folders” in the Guest Account pane of Users & Groups preferences. See Set up users, guests and groups.
