Life is Strange: анонсированы новая игра — True Colors, а также переиздания LiS1 и Before the Storm

В ходе шоу Square Enix Presents прозвучали сразу два анонса, связанные с серией Life is Strange. Студия Deck Nine Games, ранее выпустившая спин-офф Before the Storm, корпит над новой игрой — True Colors, а также над ремастерами двух LiS.

Life is Strange: True Colors

В главной роли — девушка Алекс Чэнь. Её дар, который сама героиня, впрочем, считает проклятием, — воспринимать сильные эмоции других людей: Алекс видит чувства в форме цветных аур. Она приезжает в американский городок Хейвен-Спрингс, где после долгой разлуки встречается со своим старшим братом Гейбом. Вскоре Гейб погибает в результате подозрительного несчастного случая. Алекс решает расследовать трагедию.

Разработчики утверждают, что прислушались к отзывам фанатов, которые хотели более свободно исследовать локации Life is Strange, — вам позволят гулять по улицам Хейвен-Спрингс. Там скрыта уйма необязательного контента — тайны, детали и беседы с жителями, на которых можно использовать суперсилу Алекс.

Помимо всего прочего, True Colors продемонстрирует технологический рывок по сравнению с прошлыми играми. Deck Nine задействовала собственный инструментарий Storyteller («Рассказчик»). Персонажи анимированы с помощью захвата движений, включая мимику актёров (впервые в серии).

Важную роль в грядущей LiS играет и музыка. Авторы приготовили богатую подборку новых и лицензированных треков — например, протагонистка исполнит песню Creep группы Radiohead. Алекс поёт голосом молодой исполнительницы, известной как mxmtoon (в обычных диалогах девушку озвучивает актриса Эрика Мори — Erika Mori).

Life is Strange: True Colors стартует 10 сентября на PC (Steam), Stadia и двух поколениях PlayStation и Xbox. От эпизодической модели отказались — все пять глав истории будут доступны с первого дня. Открыт сбор предзаказов — адвенчура продаётся в составе трёх изданий:

Life is Strange Remastered Collection

В комплект включены Life is Strange Remastered и Life is Strange: Before the Storm Remastered. Для обеих игр обещают следующие улучшения:

• облагороженные модели персонажей и окружение,
• новая анимация, записанная с применением захвата мимики,
• доработанные движок и освещение.

Remastered Collection прибудет 10 сентября на PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, Xbox One и Stadia. Сначала ремастеры выйдут в составе True Colors Ultimate Edition, а позже в 2021 году появятся отдельно. Бесплатный апгрейд для владельцев оригинальных LiS, кажется, не предусмотрен — по словам Deck Nine, переиздания слишком масштабные для подобной акции.
