I have one of those CPUs too and no drivers are needed, the chipset drivers are on the windows 10 disk, windows 8 disk and even windows 7

shut down and that’s what I thought put the power supply is fine but has only happened when I installed windows 10 that’s why asked if there’s a update for the processor

could be your PSU is toast, they tend to degrade over time, especially cheaper ones

I have the same problem: I am using windows 10 and when updating to 1709 the system freezes. Windows refers to AMD for a solution: https://support.microsoft.com/nl-nl/help/4056892 . Who is responsible for creating a fix? Please provide reasoning.

Well honestly it’s MS screwing things up, but a Phenom II is such a small market share that I doubt anyone will fix anything. You are in luck though because I use a Phenom II X6 and found my fix. Make sure you are on High Performance in your power settings. If you are and still having this problem I suggest a free 3rd party utility that makes uses setting more like what the high performance settings under Windows 7. Windows 10 likes to treat all computers like low power laptops running off batteries. Try Park Control Free. See if that doesn’t help. If not, it doesn’t cost anything and you can uninstall it.
