I have a big problem with AMD Radeon 6770m in my HP 6199ee. after updating windows and exactly after installing driver for 6770m screen is goong to be black and freez and i have to shut down pc from holding power button. and after restart we face with the same problem, then i must restore to previous. i am sure for solving this problem i must disable windows update or disable AMD drivers.
Please help me how to solve this problem with my laptop

Welcome to the HP Forums I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I understand you are receiving the error code 43 after installing the graphics drivers, don’t worry I’ll be glad to help you out, however, for an accurate solution I will need more details:
Have you installed a retail copy of Windows or OEM version?
Have you tried to update the drivers either using Windows update or using HP Support Assistant.
Have you tried to run a test on the video card from F2?
In the meantime, let’s try these steps here:
Let’s start off by performing a Hard reset on the notebook:
Before power resetting your computer, do the following:
Disconnect or remove all peripheral devices. Start up the laptop and test the computer by itself, and then reconnect one peripheral device at a time.
Turn over the computer and look for a battery compartment door.
If there is a battery compartment, use the steps in Reset a laptop with a removable battery.
If there is no battery compartment, use the steps in Reset a laptop with a sealed or non-removable battery.
I recommend to restore the BIOS defaults.You could restore the BIOS with this document selecting the reloading the BIOS default settings. That way it will look at the Hardware installed on the Notebook.
Once done, restart the computer and check.
Next thing, I would suggest here is to Run Windows Updates troubleshooter —
Download and install the troubleshooter from this link.
Now try to perform Windows Updates —
1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.
2) Check for updates.
3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.
If the issue persists, I would suggest here is to uninstall the display drivers on your PC from device manager.
Right-Click on start button> click device manager> expand display adapters>then select the display drivers that are listed and right-click on it and uninstall the drivers.
Check the box that states delete the software for this device.
Now restart the computer and then update the Bios, Chipset and graphics card drivers on your PC either from our HP support website, using this link or download it using HP Support Assistant
Download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.
Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.
If the issue persists, I would suggest here is to download and install the latest display drivers from the manufacturer’s website.
I would recommend you go ahead and download and install AMD detect tool -Click here
Once you have downloaded the AMD detect tool on your PC, please go ahead and uninstall thee display drivers from Device manager.
Once done, restart the computer and then double click on the AMD detect file which you have saved and click on Run, follow the procedure to install the display drivers.
Once done, restart the computer and check how it goes.

1. where i can see fixed / dynamic In bios? If i install bios mod, it will broke my laptop or not? my friend said if install wrong bios, you can’t use your laptop forever
2. I already uninstall » Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. — Graphic Adapter WDDM1.3 — AMD Radeon HD 6700M Series. Release July 2014″ in device manager. I also delete any AMD / ATI folder in C:/ or Program Files directory
3. I install fresh windows 8.1 pro (x64)
4. I have try install with driver support windows 7 but it failed, maybe not competible with windows 8.1 version
5. hhmm, what you mean with «support Windows 8.1 native» ? I know in HP website only available drivers for windows 7 but not windows 8 or windows 8.1

I have the exact same problem and it has nothing to do with which version of windows. I simply cannot install any driver for my HD6770M without the pc crashing with a black screen and a loud buzzing sound.

its riddiculous how bad this is.
i also have the Radeon (TM) HD 7690M XT installed (dynamic) and cant get computer to work properly. W10 auto updates instal AMD Radeon HD 6700M Series. from AMD site. even though i already disabled this updade in windows update (with microsoft tool).
HEY HP, about TIME you deliver a working driver for this card since we cannot install from the manufacturer due to the error of the computer having two cards (gives a compatability/security error) from different manufactorers.
Mu whole life i’ve been good with toshiba, first HP experience and probably the last one. sick of thios laptop.
