Купил Intel® Compute Stick, использовал примерно месяц.
На борту была Windows 10 x86.
Недавно Windows 10 обновилась до версии 1511, но при перезагрузке появился черный экран и всё — дальше не грузится.
Включал, выключал. Проверял диск C (chkdsk через консоль), ошибок не было.
В общем, при загрузке нажал F8 и выбрал полное восстановление (Recovery).
В процессе восстановления появилось сообщение: there was a problem resetting your PC.
Несколько раз пытался выполнить Recovery. Не помогает.
Ну, допустим, я скачаю образ на флешку, подключу через USB HUB флешку и клавиатуру, и установлю Windows 10 такую же. А как её активировать или только ломать?

Если система предустановленная была, то можно посмотреть ключ в BIOS с помощью определенной команды. Это можно сделать так:
1. запустите командную строку от имени администратора;
2. введите команду : wmic path softwarelicensingservice
3. среди символов найдите 5 блоков по 5 символов через дефис – это будет Ваш ключ продукта;
4. перезвоните в службу поддержки Microsoft, чтобы точно узнать, какую версию системы нужно устанавливать для данного ключа.
Во время установки системы введете ключ, при подключении к интернету пройдет активация.
По поводу раздела восстановления Вам необходимо обратиться к производителю устройства.

В общем, Recovery не работает. Windows не восстанавливается.
Пришлось на флешку записывать образ и устанавливать. Windows активировалась сама, даже ничего не предлагала. Я просто увидел в свойствах компьютера, надпись, что Windows активирована.
Плохо то, что у Microsoft нет образов с обновлением 1511 (Windows 10).
После установки начал обновление до 1511.
Проблема была при обновлении. Начались танцы с бубном.
Обновление скачалось и началась установка. на 92% подвисло и провисело несколько часов.
Выключил/включил мини ПК, система загрузилась до рабочего стола и подвисла — черный экран. Несколько раз перезагружал — не помогло.
При следующем запуске нажал F8 и далее в меню выбрал восстановить прежнюю версию (уже не помню точное название).
Перезагрузка и вот уже загрузился рабочий стол, но опять всё подвисло.
Далее не помню, что сделал.
Снова выключил и включил мини ПК, система загрузилась уже с рабочим столом.
Всё тормзит, часть драйверов не установлена.
В Диспетчере устройств отсутствует Видеоадаптер, совсем. Отдельно скачал драйверы чипсета и досутановил. Появился видеоадаптер. А вот драйвер для какого-то устройства шифрования не устанавливался ни в какую. Даже утилита от Intel показывала, что все драйверы установлены, хотя это одно устройство было без драйверов. Но в утилите от Intel есть кнопка скачать все драйверы, я выбрал свою модель ICS и скачал. Запустил установку драйвера чипсета и о чудо — драйвер для устройства шифрования установился.
В общем, сейчас всё пока ОК. Но эти танцы с бубном.

Your device may not be able to update to the latest version of Windows 10 for a few reasons. The following tips can help you pinpoint the issue affecting your device.
Before you begin, make sure your device is plugged into a power source and connected to the internet. Then, try the steps listed below to get your PC to update.
Some updates require administrator access. If your account doesn’t have administrator access, see Create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10. Or if someone else at home or in your office has an administrator account on your device, try asking them to install the updates.
Before trying any of the solutions below, make sure you back up your personal files. You can use File History to back up your files to another drive, or insert a USB drive and use File Explorer to drag and copy important files to the USB drive. If you’re signing into Windows with a Microsoft account, your system settings will be automatically restored after updating, once you’re connected to the internet.
You can also back up your files with OneDrive. For more info, go to Back up your Documents, Pictures, and Desktop folders with OneDrive.
Make sure that your device has enough space. Your device requires at least 16 GB of free space to upgrade a 32-bit OS, or 20 GB for a 64-bit OS. If your device has a small hard drive, you may need to insert a USB drive to update it.

Many updates require you to restart your device. Save your work and close all open applications. Then, select Start > Power , and select either Update and restart or Update and shut down.
Even if you have downloaded some updates, there may be more available. After trying the preceding steps, run Windows Update again by selecting Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates. Download and install any new updates.
Remove any external storage devices and drives, docks, and other hardware plugged into your device that aren’t needed for basic functionality. Then try to run updates again and see if this resolved your issue. If it didn’t, continue to the next tip.

In the search box on the taskbar, type device manager, then select Device Manager from the list of results.
In the window that appears, look for any device with a yellow exclamation mark next to it. (You may have to select each category to view the list of devices.) Select the device name.
Select Action, and then choose either Update driver or Uninstall to correct the errors.
Common troubleshooting questions

In the search box on the taskbar, type command prompt, then select Run as administrator from the list of options. Select Yes. Next, in the window that appears, type the following commands one at a time, including the spaces as shown. After you type each command, press Enter. Then let each command complete before you type the next command.

In some instances, third-party antivirus or security software can cause errors when you try to update to the latest version of Windows 10. You can temporarily uninstall this software, update your PC, and then reinstall the software after your device is up to date. We recommend using third-party antivirus or security software that’s compatible with the latest version of Windows 10. You can check compatibility by visiting the software manufacturer’s website.
Note: Before uninstalling software, make sure you know how to reinstall your programs and that you have any necessary product keys.

and then press Enter. Repairs will automatically start on your hard drive, and you’ll be asked to restart your device.
A clean restart starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program or an update that may cause issues updating your PC.

In the search box on the taskbar, type command prompt, then select Run as administrator from the list of options.
In the window that appears, type this command including spaces as shown:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
Press Enter. When the command operation has run successfully, you’ll see a confirmation message from Command Prompt that says, “The restore operation completed successfully” or “The operation completed successfully”.
Note: If you don’t see a confirmation message, retype the command and try again.
Next, type this command, including the space as shown:
sfc /scannow
Press Enter. Wait until the sfc scan verification reaches 100% completion, and then close Command Prompt.
Try running the Windows Update again.
Go to the software download page and select Download tool now to download the clean installation tool. Make sure to carefully read the notes on the software download page before using the tool.

Graphics problem with Windows 10 and AMD Video Card
I have a relatively new Gaming PC that is using the AMD Radeon R9 200 Series chipset. Everything was great with windows 8.1, but after the windows 10 upgrade I have a persistent graphics problem with the base OS.
When I select the Start button on my bottom bar, it displays fine, the first time. But if I mouse over any tile or menu option in the start menu, the font immediately turns to gibberish. I can’t read anything on the start menu. This includes action center and anything else tied to that bar.
Games and everything else seems to work fine but the start menu is something that is incredibly annoying.
I have the latest drivers from AMD for my video card ver. 15.7.1.
I could re-install stardock and go back to windows 7 UI. But I was hoping to experience this supposedly great new Windows 10 UI.
So far I’m not impressed. An unreadable UI gets a 1 out of 10 for me.
Let’s step it up guys, AMD is not a niche brand.

Method 1: Update video adapter driver.
Verify that the latest drivers for the display adapter are installed.
- a. At the Start screen, type Windows Update.
- b. Click or tap Settings on the right side of the screen, and then select Install optional updates from the left results
- c. When the Windows Update control panel opens, click on “Check for Updates” on the top left corner to receive a fresh list of updates.
I would also suggest you to refer to the following article and perform the steps mentioned under “Update driver” section.
Method 2:
Check the Device status in the Device Manager. The yellow exclamation mark provides an indication of a device’s current status and could mean that there is a system resource conflict, a driver issue, or any number of other things. Refer to these steps to open Device Manager.
Step 1. Press Windows and X keys together.
Step 2. Click on Device Manager.
Step 3. Expand Sound, video and game controller.

Method 3: If the issue still prissiest, install the Windows 8.1 drivers in compatibility mode.
Step 1. Download the Windows 8.1 drivers.
Step 2. Right click on the downloaded driver file.
Step 3. Click/tap on Troubleshoot Compatibility.
I also suggest install the latest drivers available for Windows 10 and check if it helps.
