[SOLVED] Eyetoy installation — autoconf.h is missing

I’m having trouble installing my webcam (Sony’s EyeToy). I check it’s recognised, remove the current modules, download the driver but when I try to compile it just spits out an error:

I’ve check the source and coupled with the error message I have found the problem to be with the line including the autoconf header file:

I tried removed this line and it gave me even more errors so put it back. From what I can gather, the compiler is trying to find the autoconf header file but it can’t. I then ran a search on the header file and here are the results:

I replaced ‘linux/autoconf.h’ with the full locations of the previous two searches and then it spat out the same errors as if i’d removed the line (I think, if not the same, it was a similar amount!).

I’ve been following the guides on this webpage.

Any help? This seems more of a problem with my installation than it does the drivers. Could it be because I’m running 64 bit?

You had said you are compiling the system. I have no way to access your skill level, so please forgive me in advance if my advice aims a little low. Arch Linux does build the V4L kernel modules, so you should be okay there.

autoconf.h is usually automatically generated bu the GNU autobuild system. The referenced web page says to use the Makefile that comes with the driver. That may not be adequate. Did you use the Makefile that came with the driver? (Sorry, I do not have the driver in front of me).

If the directory contains files like configure.am and Makefile.am you can try to rebuild the configure system. Do an aclocal, then an autoconf. This should make a an executable configure and a autoconf.h. Run ./configure, then make and you should be golden — YMMV

Thanks for the reply. As for skill level, I’m fairly new — I’ve been using linux on and off for several years (mostly fedora) and have spent the last year in university working almost completely in a linux enviroment. I’m 100% comfortable with the command line (prefer it) but aren’t quite fluent outside grep, find, /dev and configuring X11 files. Arch linux has really been a nice learn so any advice packed full of information is great.

Any other suggestions?

Проблема с сборкой модуля.

Добрый день. Пытаюсь скомпилить модуль для ядра 2,6,30 для дистра Mandriva. При попытке компиляции make -C /usr/src/kernel-linus-`uname -r` SUBDIRS=$PWD
Выдаётся данная ошибка:

У тебя ядро сконфигурено или ты просто сорцы распаковал?

make -C /usr/src/kernel-linux-`uname -r` SUBDIRS=$PWD должно помочь

тебе же английским по-черному пишут, что сделать надо

Pavval — просто сорцы рапаковал )
ananas — зашёл в папку с исходниками, там сделал make oldconfig && make prepare и теперь компиляция вроде как запускается нормально.
Если можно, поясните мне смысл этой команды и что от неё изменяется, что происходит вообще?

Кстати, есть вероятность, очень сильно отличающаяся от 0, что модуль твой скомпилируется, но не запустится. Ты где сорцы ядра взял и что у тебя за дистрибутив?

Дистр Mandriva 2009 , исходиники через их установщик пакетов скачал.
Сейчас повнимательней вывод компиляции посмотрел, вот какая ошибка.

Что можно с этим сделать и как?

Проблема решена) мне просто тупить не надо было. Сорцы для компиляции были в папке kernel-linus-devel-2.6.30-2mdv а не kernel-linus-2.6.30-2mdv

Ошибка конфигурации ядра при попытке установить профессиональные драйверы paragon ufsd для HFS+

При запуске скрипта install.sh для драйверов Paragon UFSD появляется сообщение об ошибке:

Как запустить «make oldconfig && make prepare» и имеет ли это смысл?

Я знаю, что этот вопрос был задан в контексте драйвера NVIDIA, но на него был дан ответ, предлагая другие способы установки NVIDIA, не описывающие, как запустить команду make ( Установка драйвера NVIDIA: Ошибка Запустите ‘make oldconfig && make prepare’ в src ядра, чтобы исправить это это. «). В другом вопросе проблема была решена, но человек, который спросил, не может вспомнить как ( » ОШИБКА: недопустимая конфигурация ядра «).

Контекст для моего вопроса:

В течение нескольких дней я пытаюсь установить драйверы UFSD Paragon-147-PRE_NTFS_Linux_9.4_Pro для полной поддержки файловой системы NTFS и HFS+ для чтения и записи. Драйверы официально поддерживают Ubuntu 16.04LTS. После завершения моей старой установки Linux я использую новую установку Ubuntu 16.04.2LTS (загруженную с веб-сайта UBUNTU) только со стандартной установкой, хотя я запускаю ее в системе с тройной загрузкой (Windows7, начальная, Ubuntu), если это имеет значение.

Я установил build-essentials, dkms и linux-headers:

Насколько я знаю, я соответствую всем требованиям (аппаратное и установленное программное обеспечение), перечисленным в руководстве к программе paragon ( http://download.paragon-software.com/doc/ntfs_hfs_linux_9_4_user_manual.pdf):

Я распаковал пакет драйвера Paragon и запустил скрипт install.sh (обратите внимание на предупреждение «вне диапазона»: я ранее пробовал его на ядре 4.4. Без этого предупреждения, но с тем же окончательным сообщением об ошибке):

Missing linux/autoconfig.h

i tried to install cisco vpn client to the /bin folder. I have the latest version of ubuntu running and this is my very first package to install. But when i want to start the script vpn_install i get this:

in /usr/src/linux/ & save the kernel configuration, this will generate the /usr/include/linux/autoconf.h file according to the kernel configuration.
