Can I use Bartender 4 on macOS Catalina or earlier?

Bartender 4 is compatible with macOS Big Sur and Monterey. Because of the massive changes in macOS Bartender 4 could only be designed to work with the new versions of macOS. You can use a Bartender 4 license with Bartender 3.

Is Bartender&nbsp4 free?

No Bartender&nbsp4 is not free. It has a 4 week trial after this Bartender&nbsp4 will be $15, and will have a great discount of 50% for users with a license to any previous version of Bartender.

I recently bought Bartender 3 do I need to pay for an upgrade?

If you bought Bartender 3 after April 2020 you are entitled to a free upgrade to Bartender 4, Bartender 4 will accept and use your Bartender 3 license.

How do I update from a previous version?

You need to be on macOS Big Sur or Monterey, then you can download Bartender 4 from the website, open the disk image and move Bartender 4 to your applications folder. You can then delete any previous versions of Bartender you have and launch Bartender 4.

How do I buy an upgrade from a previous version?

Click Buy Now, then select Upgrade to Bartender 4. You will be prompted to enter your previous license details, once submitted and instantly verified you will be able to purchase a Bartender 4 license with a 50% discount.

Bartender 3 lets you organize your menu bar icons, by hiding them, rearranging them, show hidden items with a click or keyboard shortcut and have icons show when they update.

Bartender 3 Features

Take control of your menu bar icons

With Bartender you can choose which apps stay in the menu bar, are hidden and revealed with a click or a hotkey or are hidden completely. With Show for updates have menu bar icons display when you want to see them automatically. These are just some of Bartenders great features, check out some other below.

Hidden menu bar icons

Hidden items can be shown whenever you want, by clicking on the Bartender Icon or via a hot key. With Autohide they will get hidden again when you use another app. By removing normally shown items when displaying your hidden items you gain extra menu bar space.

Show menu bar icons in the menu bar when they update

Set menu bar icons to show when you want to see them, such as Dropbox when its updating, volume when it changes. Have them display for a period of time when they update. Allowing you to see whats happening, or take important action.

If you want a really clean look and privacy, Bartender and Notification Center can also be hidden.

Search menu bar icons

You can search the all menu icons, allowing you quick access to a menu icons without looking for it. Simply use the hotkey or control click the Bartender menu icon to activate search and start typing.
