In order to manually update your driver, follow the steps below (the next steps):

1. Go to Device Manager (right click on My Computer, choose Manage and then find Device Manager in the left panel)
2. Right click on the hardware device you wish to update and choose Update Driver Software

I can download and it attempts to install — but fails each time

Looking for any kind of resolution — the solution posted on similiar posts does not work

I see a couple of BCM drivers on your PC’s support page.

Please post the hardware ID for the wireless card, so I can take a look inside the driver folder and see if either of the drivers’ setup information file contains driver support for the specific hardware ID of that wireless card.

To find the hardware ID, go to the device manager and click on the Network Controller (that is the device name when no driver is installed), or the Broadcom wireless network adapter if the driver is installed.

Then click on the Details tab at the top of the Network Controller window.

Now you should see a Property drop down list and it is defaulted to Device Description.

Drop down on that list and select the 3rd item (Hardware ID’s).

Post the top string of characters that you see in the window.

You know you are in the right place if the ID starts with PCI\VEN.

This is the W10 driver you need for that hardware ID.

If for some reason, you are also having a problem with the auto install, try manually installing the driver because all ofthe driver files are there.

To manually install the driver, go to the device manager, click on the Network Controller device needing drivers.

Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver. Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.

That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp72009.

Make sure the Include Subfolder box is checked and the driver should install.
