Римейк известной японской игры про выпускающих зелёные пузыри дракончиков, разработанный отечественными программистами и выпущенный небезызвестной студией Alawar Entertainment. Да-да, той самой, что создала и выпустила известную нам Веселую Ферму и Сокровища Монтесумы.
Геймплей прост. Мы управляем зелёным дракончиком (а в режиме игры на двоих — еще и синим), который стреляет во врагов зелеными пузырями, а как только враги в них попадают, то сразу оказываются в ловушке, и мы дракончиком спокойно лопаем эти пузыри. А от врагов получаем их остатки в виде разного рода продуктов питания: от фруктов до кружки пива, которые появляются и как случайно появляющийся бонус. Врагов всего 8 — это и знакомые нам из оригинала заводные игрушки, и чудики в белом плаще, и похожие на осьминогов коричневые призраки, и летающие монстры с пропеллером, и попрыгунчики, и пушистые монстрики, и колдуны, и пауки. Если заводные игрушки, монстры с пропеллером и осьминоги не представляют особой опасности, и их можно с легкостью убить, то вот остальных стоит опасаться. Особенно стоит опасаться типов в белом одеянии и колдунов, которые при встрече с вами запускают в вас фаерболы. Иногда на уровнях их по нескольку штук. В некоторых уровнях случается такое, что монстры находятся в маленькой комнате из платформ, путь к которой либо ведёт к ловушке, либо и вовсе не существует. Тогда на помощь приходят пузыри с молнией, с помощью которых можно моментально убить врагов. А если есть при этом открытое пространство, то можно применить пузыри с водой, давящей врагов при взаимодействии с игроком, и с огнем, оставляющим после себя убивающие врагов ловушки в виде огненного пола.
На уровнях время от времени появляются пузыри с буквами, с помощью которых можно составить слово и телепортироваться в пустое помещение без врагов, где вы получите призы в виде бонусов и увеличения единицы здоровья.
Что меня поразило в этом римейке, так это то, что создатели бережно отнеслись к оригиналу, сохранив стилистику, при этом весьма ее усовершенствовав. Например, дополнили палитру платформ, добавили музыкальное оформление, а также подобрали фоновые рисунки вместо имевшего место в оригинале чёрного экрана. Все это было сделано для того, чтобы в нее смогли поиграть как те, кто уже был знаком с оригинальной версией, так и те, кто решил познакомиться с серией игр Bubble Bobble именно с этой версией. Также из плюсов можно заметить музыку, состоящую из четырех треков. Три запускаются в рандомном порядке, если начать игру с ввода пароля к тому или иному уровню, а вот 4-й звучит в последних 10 уровнях и во время финального поединка.
Порою кажется, что разрабатывали эту игру не у нас на постсоветском пространстве, а где-то в Европе. Уж больно музыкальное оформление и оформление меню навевает мне мысль о европейской анимации тех лет.
Подводя итог, хочу сказать, что игра получилась просто замечательной. Скучать не придётся.

During the mid ’80s, Taito presented Bubble Booble for arcade machines, a very addictive video game that, as time has gone by, has managed to become a cult game among hardcore gamers from all over the world.

Just like the original game, in Bubble Bobble Nostalgie we take on the role of Bub, and we are challenged to pass the vast amount of screens included in the game (in this case 200 original levels), catching enemies in bubbles to get rid of them. Our mission: to rescue our loved one from the jaws of the evil sorcerer! It will be much easier if you find the objects hidden on each level.
Bubble Bobble Nostalgie also offers us the chance to play two-player games. Thus, you will have the invaluable help of Bob, Bub’s companion of adventures.

If you loved the days of Bubble Bobble in the arcade, take a look at a modern version — Bubble Bobble Nostalgie!
Bubble Bobble Nostalgie is very similar to the original game. Like the original, the aim is to move your little dragon around the screen, shooting multi-colored balls at your enemies. Once you’ve captured them, you jump on them to gain points and bonuses. There’s a time limit to each level in Bubble Bobble Nostalgie, so be careful you don’t get trapped!
Bubble Bobble Nostalgie can be played as a one or two-player multi-level game. In truth, the graphics aren’t very impressive, and nothing much seems to have changed since the original came out in 1986! The characters are cute, but the actual levels are very boring, and the music is headache-inducing Europop.
I wasn’t a big fan of the original, but Bubble Bobble Nostalgie does seem pretty faithful. There’s nothing very wrong with the game, but it doesn’t seem to have improved any on the original and I found it all too boring.
Boring graphics and terrible music makes Bubble Bobble Nostalgie a bit disappointing.

You score by picking up items: fruit, vegetables, diamonds, jewels etc. You can also pick up some power-ups to make your journey easier. The power-ups emerge after certain events and boost speed, fire range etc. and give you a chance to score more points or win extra lives. On some levels you can pop special bubbles that appear from the holes at the top or/and bottom of the screen to help you kill the monsters in more sophisticated ways.
Your main goal is to defeat the Mad Sorcerer (first episode — levels from 1 to 100) and the Ghost (second episode — levels from 101 to 200). The Mad Sorcerer and the Ghost are waiting for you on 100th and 200th levels, respectively. Monsters of various species are to meet you along the way, so don’t you count on a quiet journey.
