the compatibility center shows a link to get drivers and when you go to the linked site, select Windows 10 it says that

so its the old its Windows fault, no its the manufacturer

Well, in my case I will be going back to windows 7 then.

before I decided to roll back to windows 7, i tried the manual install and selected «Windows Update» when presented.

it took a few minutes before all of the companies and their models were listed. I scanned through the list and did NOT find ip6700D but ther ip6600D was listed so I gave it a try. it installed, I was able to print a test page and another document with out issue. the listed printer preference choices are the same as they have been in the past.

so i think i’ll just leave as it is now.

John, how did you manually install the ip6600d driver for your ip6700d printer? I’m in the same situation.

steps that I used are:

1. devices and printers

2. add a printer or scanner

3. the printer that I want isn’t listed

4. add a local printer or network printer with manual settings

6. selected the USB001 (Virtual printer port for USB)

8. click on windows update

this part may take a few minutes, I even had to refresh because of a timeout

9. scroll down. till you find ip6600d and select it.

10. follow instructions to install.

for users at my house, I named the printer ip6700d so that it matches what the printer says.

11. print test page

I also managed to get my ip6700D working in Windows 10 by downloading the iP6700D Windows 8.1(x64) driver that TJ suggested. I saved the files in a separate folder and then located an entry for the 6700D under Printers in the Device Manager under Control Panel. I then followed the path: Update Driver Software > Browse my computer for driver software and picked the downloaded IP6700D.INF file.

I was able today to install the driver manually. I followed

1. devices and printers

2. add a printer or scanner

3. the printer that I want isn’t listed

4. add a local printer or network printer with manual settings

from the models Iist also ip6700d was available!

when prompted to keep the currently installed driver as recommended, I accepted and installed it, and I was ready to print.

I was able today to install the driver manually. I followed

when prompted to keep the currently installed driver as recommended, I accepted and installed it, and I was ready to print.

Not 100% clear from this post, but don’t click Windows Update, or the iP6700D will disappear from the list (at least, it did for me). The only negative I have found is that it doesn’t seem to communicate ink levels back to the computer?

I also get a message about enabling bi-directional support. Not sure what that is all about as it seems to print fine without it. Plus, I don’t seem to be able to set it anyway, or at least I can check the box, but the setting doesn’t stay enabled.
