Cisco Packet Tracer — мощная программная среда для построения виртуальной компьютерной сети. В утилите предусмотрены все основные элементы, выпускаемые компанией. ПО упрощает работу сетевым инженерам при проектировании.

Cisco Packet Tracer применяют для обучения студентов. Для ее использования необходимо зарегистрироваться и записаться на 1 из курсов: CNNA R&C, CCNA Security, Introduction to IoT, IT Essentials, Mobile Fundamentals.

Программа не переведена на русский язык, как и курсы. Несмотря на это, в интерфейсе программы легко разобраться. Для построения простейшей сети компьютер-компьютер, нужно не более 3 минут. В левом нижнем углу можно выбрать тип устройства. После задания типа, отображаются устройства, которые к нему относятся. Чтобы использовать элементы, например, компьютеры, необходимо «перетащить» их в рабочую область.

По окончании построения сети, Cisco Packet Tracer отображает, будут ли устройства работать друг с другом. Например, если перепутать прямое и перекрестное соединение, загорятся красные индикаторы. В правильно работающей сети, все индикаторы будут зелеными.

Программа симулирует устройства, как если бы Вы работали с ними. Пользователь может настраивать IP-адрес, маску, DNS сервер и шлюз по умолчанию вручную или через DHCP. Можно работать, как со старым протоколом IPv4, так и с IPv6.

Cisco Packet Tracer 8.0.0 has been released in february 2021 and is now available for download on Netacad website. Check Packet Tracer 8.0.0 new features. Packet tracer 8.0.0 replaces Packet Tracer 7.3.1 It is distributed as a debian package (.deb) for Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, provides a new SDN Network Controller and allow emulated network programming through API exposed by Packet Tracer to the host.

Cisco Packet Tracer 8.0.0 is created by Cisco Systems TM and is provided for free to everyone. Self learners are able to download Cisco Packet Tracer after registering on Cisco Netacad website. An EoL date is set for Packet Tracer (PT) Mobile with end of availability being 1 July 2021. Networking Academy recommends utilizing the desktop version of Packet Tracer, which is the official version for Networking Academy courses. After 1 July 2021, PT Mobile will no longer be available on mobile Apple and Google stores.

Cisco Packet Tracer Mobile can be freely downloaded on Google Play Store or Apple Store. Register on Cisco Netacad (now free registration open !) before using the software and use your credentials to unlock the software.

Cisco NX-OSv 9000 appliance

The NX-OSv 9000 is a virtual appliance designed to simulate the control plane of a Cisco Nexus 9000 switch. The NX-OSv 9000 shares the same software image running on Cisco Nexus 9000 hardware platform. Line card (LC) ASIC provisioning or any interaction from the control plane to rela switch ASICs are emulated by the NX-OSv 9000 software data plane.

Following the the Nexus 7000 Titanium emulator, the NX-OSv 9000 is a moder emulator for datacenter certifications training. It’s also great plaform to test network automation prior to production deployment.

NX-OSV 9000 runs on GNS3, KVM, or VMware NSX.

Cisco UCS Platform Emulator 4.0

UCS PE (Platform Emulator) is a powerful Cisco UCS Manager emulator allowing CCNP datacenter students to learn how to configure the UCS environment. The current version emulates the UCS manager 4.0(4e), which includes new hardware configurations 6454 Fabric Interconnect and C4200 seris rack server chassis with C125 rack servers. The S3260 storage server is also emulated in UCS PE. These release can be connected to GNS using VMware.

UCS PE is now featured in a Cisco dCloud programmability demo. The demo includes a comprehensive lab guide including the following content for Cisco UCS PowerTool and the Python SDK:

• Overviews of PowerShell and Python programming environments with step-by-step usage instructions.

PT Anywhere

PT Anywhere is a web application designed to offer a network simulation environment based on Cisco Packet Tracer engine throug a web interface which can be accessed from a web browser. PT Anywhere can as such be integrated inside a website, an online course, a learning systm like moodle. It has been developed by the Open University and Cisco and has been funded by the FORGE project.
