Те, кто пробовал играть в игры с использованием мыши на маке, наверняка замечали «замечательный» эффект, который когда то давно придумали в недрах компании Эппл для медленных компьютеров — а именно динамическое изменение ускорения курсора мыши.
К чему это приводит — если вы перемещаете мышь незначительно — то все работает как и обычно. Но, стоит вам только передвинуть мышь на 1-1.5 см и начинаются чудеса — вместо ожидаемого линейного перемещения — мы наблюдаем резкий скачок.
Например, в игре Counter Strike это приводит к тому, что вместо прицеливания вы разворачиваетесь на 180 градусов.

Я достаточно долго изучал этот вопрос. Существует множество страниц в интернете, где этот эффект описывается, но не дается простого решения проблемы. Предлагается воспользоваться различными платными и не очень утилитами.
Компания Эппл отписывается на этот вопрос в своем стиле, т.е. проблема надумана и не существует.

Однако, все можно решить значительно проще. Обновлением единственного параметра в списке при помощи командной строки.
Я не видел ни одного описания правильного решения проблемы на русском языке, поэтому решил написать эту статью.
На решение проблемы сообществу потребовалось несколько лет.
Решение работает на последней ОС Yosemite.
Проверено мной.

Выполните следующую команду в терминале Мак ОС:
defaults write .GlobalPreferences com.apple.mouse.scaling -1

Все, мои поздравления. Наконец можно спокойно работать и играть.

3 способа сделать курсор в Mac OS X более заметным

CursorSense 1.3.1 – Adjust cursor acceleration and sensitivity.

CursorSense is the only application that adjusts the cursor acceleration and sensitivity. By adjusting both values, you can move the cursor just like you move your hand. All mice and trackpads are supported.

• For Designers: Setting acceleration to 0 will make the cursor movement flat. This is good for drawing, but the cursor will move extremely slow. You will need to increase the sensitivity.
• For Windows Users: Many users who have a long experience in using Windows cannot get used to the cursor movement on the Mac. One reason might be that Windows uses sensitivity to adjust the cursor movement, and the Mac uses acceleration. Set acceleration to 0.01 and use sensitivity to adjust the cursor movement to approximate the cursor movement in Windows.
• For Gamers: Gaming mice have a high DPI/CPI and precise cursor control. Some gaming mice move the cursor extremely fast even with acceleration set to 0. You will get the ideal cursor movement by decreasing sensitivity in this case.

You can configure acceleration and sensitivity for each mouse / trackpad individually. No need to change the settings every time when replacing the mouse as you would have to in System Preferences.

A free cursor manager for Mac OS 10.8+ built using private, nonintrusive CoreGraphics APIs.

Mousecape works by calling the API calls that Apple uses to initialize the system cursors in the system and it registers a daemon that will automatically apply the cursor on login and when cursors get unregistered.

It is unintrusive and works in the background. You just need to open the app, click Mousecape —> Install Helper Tool, apply your cursor and you’re done!

Where do I get cursors?

A pack of cursors in Mousecape is called a cape, each cape contains a multiple scales of representations of many cursors. For example, the Arrow cursor can have 1x, 2x, 5x, and 10x representations while the Wait cursor can have 1x, and 2x.

There is an example cape file included in this Git Repo located here for download. It is a remake of Max Rudberg’s loved Svanslös cursors generously crafted by Max for us to use. Simply double click the cape file with Mousecape on your system and it will be imported into your library.

How can I create my own cape?

You can create a new cape document in the Mousecape app by hitting ⌘N (Command-N) and editing it with ⌘E. Click the «+» button to add cursors to customize and symply drag your images into the fields provided.

How do animated cursors work?

When you want to animate a cursor, change the value in the frames field in the edit window and make sure frame duration is how you want it. Next, create an image that has all of your cursor frames stacked on top of each other vertically. Mousecape will traverse down the image for each frame, using a box the same size as whatever you put in the size field.
