Nachdem sich CleanMyMac v2 bei 50% off für satte 19,99 € zum Kauf anbot habe ich mich dann doch für den Disk Doctor v3.2 entschieden für sage und schreibe 2,69 €. Ich braue unbedingt ein Tool zum Säubern meiner Festplatte. Dieses Programm ist schnell geladen und installiert. Sodann fix gestartet — eigenes Nutzer-Home-Verzeichnis ausgewählt — et voilá. Es ist zwar alles English, aber kein Problem; der Tool-Screen stellt sich übersichtlich ohne Schnick-Schnack dar. Alles im Blick — alles im Griff. Ich bekomme allerlei Zahlen präsentiert aus denen sich der finale Nutzen darstellt. Jetzt muss ich mich nur entscheiden in welchen Zeilen ich die jeweiligen Schiebe-Schalter aktiviere. Ok, getan, weiter gehts. Ein kurzer Scan und sogleich erscheint ein kleiner Screen, welcher mich an ein durchzuführendes Backup via Timemachine erinnert. Und wenn ich nicht weiß wie das geht steht da auch gleich noch ein Link zum „How to use Time Machine“. Sehr gut! Da starte ich doch gern das Backup manuell über das Menü; da ist mein eben geladenes Tool auch gleich „Save“ in der Rückwärts-Zeitschleife. ≈:•D Nach einer kurzen Weile sind offensichtlich alle gewählten unnützen Daten entfernt worden und ich bekomme eine Gratulation zum Erfolg. Danke! Genau so soll es sein. \•(ö.Ö)•/
Nutzlos
Es werden in der bezahlten App nur weitere BEZAHLTE Apps vorgeschlagen, die den Job tuen würden. Komplette Geldverscchwendung für 3 euro hat das Programm 20 Megabyte bei mir entfernen können. Abzocke.

Briliant app that works & simple to use
So simple to use and does exactly what you want..finds all the hidden stuff clogging up your computer memory and clears it off. So easy…well done really impressed.
Original Review- So Far So Good — Update — no longer works
Update
This used to work well, but I found an alternative that I preferred so stopped using it.
With the release of Disc Doctor Pro I thought I would use my original version again to decide whether to upgarde to Pro. It will no longer let me accept user files to analyse, so is unusable. I see from a review that the new Disk Doctor Pro has the same problem.
Original Review
I was hesitant to use any app that could delete files without me having total control. However, I have seen how quickly Application caches and logs can accumulate files that consume disc space, and how after a time they slow down my iMac.
Disk Doctor has received very good reviews so I decided to try it. I use it carefully, with a limited selection of disc locations.
So far I have found it works quickly, identifies large chunks of data that can be removed, and deletes them effectively. I have not experienced any problems after disc cleaning, and performance improves each time I run the app.
I have given it “only” four stars because I use it infrequently, so I may not have evaluated it fully. Also, like any utility, it is not exactly an exciting experience. Finally, although I have had no problems so far, I remain a little worried that one day Disk Doctor will delete something critical.
Revised review … not as good as it was
My previous review is below. However, Disk Doctor now doesn’t seem to be so hot. I ran a scan tonight. It told me that I had 240MB of files in the trash. Actually there were four files, total just under 60MB. I ran the delete process. It told me that it had deleted the trash, and now tells me that there are no files in the trash. However, the four files, total just under 60MB are still there. I closed and restarted Disk Doctor — no change. If it’s not telling the truth about these, what else is it not telling me?
I’ve been using Disc (UK!) Doctor for several months — I run it once every couple of weeks on my 2010 MBP. It has a clean, easy to use interface, and deletes the files it says it’s going to. Performance after a cleanup is always better.
What’s the definition of high quality? Give the customer what they want, when they want it, at a price they think is right. Job done.

Almost Too Easy
The new interface is excellent. It allows the user to view individual files and check each one off BEFORE deleting them or select whole groups of files for deletion. It even prompts you to make a Time Machine back up prior to making the final deletion so that if you’ve made an error you can reinstall any mistakes you’ve made. Great job guys! This was the money well spent for a program! If you follow the directions (fellow men listen) you can’t go wrong! This app gives you almost every option you could ask for and remembers all you’ve selected from the last time you used it. I tink the few the rated it less than great didn’t read before they clicked and hadn’t made a backup using time machine or some other program. I love it.
Simple Man
Im not a very savvy computer problem solver so I really appreciate tools that are plug-n-play. I have used this application on 4 devices over almost 7 years now and I just continue to trust and rely on it more and more. Its simple, straightforward, and seems very effective to me. I wish it could tell me a little bit more about the files its finding (such as old, large video files) because if it did, I could probably identify more space to clear. But Im happy to do the research manually in this case. I have nothing to compare it to recently because I only use this app for this purpose…and I love it.
Get ready for constant ads for other FIPLAB products
If you get this or any other FIPLAB product you’ll also get neat little (GIANT) ad’s for their other products anytime they want to give it to you. I own several of them sadly and I’m not going to install any of them on my new mac for this reason alone. There is no option to opt out of these ads and it comes without warning when the programs open. These products are OK, but nothing magical and not worth this. I also suspect half of these reviews are fake hype since nobody has mentioned this for a while and a year or so ago a review like this was not alone but now they are buried by glowing reviews. It’s gotten worse and I’m done with it. Lastly get ready to buy this over and over again as they make tiny improvements along with a new fancier name in order to re-sell you the same stuff (remember extreme memory clean anyone?)
