How do I install Dolby Advanced Audio on this machine?

Supposedly has Dolby audio — but the interface doesn’t look like the interface for Dolby Advanced Audio and the equalizer doesn’t do anything. Also, in the list under Windows Control Panel items, it lists «Dolby Audio» and not «Dolby Digital Plus Advanced Audio».

Have installed the latest audio driver from Lenovo. Also tried deleting everything related to Conexant and Dolby and reinstalling the driver from Lenovo, as suggested for a different model on this forum. Nothing changed.

Also tried downloading the Windows 7 driver — it would not install — says «PCEE needs to be installed».

Is there any point in pursuing this or should I just give up?

Thanks for your response. I had already guessed that Dolby Advanced Audio is not compatible with Windows 10. But I didn’t upgrade to Windows 10 — the laptop came with Windows 10 installed. I don’t see why you would include «Dolby Audio» when it apparently doesn’t do anything. Dolby is no help — they only direct you to the computer manufacturer.

Hi, guys! I realize I’m 2 years late for the discussion, but if anyone encounters a similar problem with Dolby Audio, I found out that my laptop speakers’ driver had, for some reason, enabled a setting named «disable all sound effects» (loosely translated from Norwegian). Unchecking its checkbox solved all my issues with Dolby Audio in Windows 10, but I guess your milage may vary.

The setting to alter is found in your speakers’ properties, under the «improvements» tab. See attached screenshot for directions (in Norwegian, annotated in English).
