I’ve just re-installed Windows 10, and want to add the driver for my hp deskjet 930c printer. After having run the update function during printer installation, I could not see the 930c printer. It only shows deskjet 920 followed by deskjet 940.
Note: in former installations of Windows 10, the deskjet 930c was found in the updated list!!
The support page of HP also stated that you should use the standard Win 10 printer installation to add the deskjet 930c printer. So this hint isn’t actually correct.
Why does deskjet 930c no longer appear in the updated list of HP printers?
can I use another driver instead to make the deskjet 930c printer available on Win 10?

The Add-a-Printer list might need to be «updated» before the 93xC printer group shows up in the list.
HP Document and video:

If a full feature driver from HP is not available for your printer, you must install the built-in print driver.

As there was no new anwswer, I’ll assume that there is no obvious reason why I cannot see deskjet 930c .
So my next questions are then:
Is there another way to get the driver for HP deskjet 930c ?
can I use another driver instead of the deskjet 930c , e.g. the driver for deskjet 950 ?

I do not know why the appropriate driver selection does not show up on your Windows driver list. Assuming you had used the little Windows Update in the procedure, the list should be complete.
The reason might be due to your region (location on the planet), your particular Windows version, USB already connected. ??
The testing and examples are from Windows 10 Pro, latest edition (at writing V1803), full Administrative rights, UAC ticked second from the bottom.
If this printer is to be connected via USB, make sure you have disconnected the USB cable between the printer and the computer before starting the Add-a-Printer procedure.
If you had not done so, click the little «Windows Update» box to refresh the list.
It can take several minutes for the list to update / refresh, after which whatever Windows Update drivers are found will be present in the list.
If the USB port does not show up on the list of port selections, use the LPT port.
