Windows10 printer driver for my Lexmark X1190

Can’t get that good old reliable all in one inkjet to work in windows10.

This issue may occur due the printer driver is out dated. Let’s try the simple methods and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Method 1.

I would suggest you to run Printer troubleshooter and check if it helps.

Type troubleshooting on the search bar and click on Troubleshooting.

Click on Troubleshooting and click on print on printer Hardware and Sound.

Click on Advanced on the Printer troubleshooter dialog box and click on Run as administrator (Enter the credentials if required).

Click on Next and follow onscreen instruction complete the Printer troubleshooter.

If the above method does not fix the issue try below method information provided.

Method 2.

I would suggest you to update Printer driver and check if it helps to resolve the issue. Follow the below steps:

Press Windows key + R and type devmgmt.msc in the box and hit Enter.

Go to Printer queues and locate for the printer.

Right click on the printer and click on update to update the driver.

I just uninstalled and reinstalled the latest (Vista with service pack 2) in compatibility mode and it’s working fine. My little printer is talking to me again. (And printing) Unfortunately when I installed windows10, I never thought that would ever need Vista again. When I start windows I get the choice between the two systems however there are no files on my computer supporting Vista.

I bought a basic Epson and found to my horror that the ink controls on that machine are devious to say the least. I can’t print even in black and white if one of the color cartridges is evaluated as empty. Can’t use any kind of third party product. Of course it would reject a cartridge that is detected as having been refilled.
