Making sure the Samson drivers are installed and up to date

After running the Installation program, with the mic plugged in, check in Device Manager to see if the drivers have been loaded. This can be reached by right-clicking My Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager button.

If the Samson drivers are loaded, the device under Sound, video and game controllers will be Samson Audio (WDM), and the device under Universal Serial Bus controllers will be Samson C01U. ( Samson C01U may be changed to a more generic name for all our similar microphones.)

If the drivers aren’t loaded, the system drivers are used. The Samson microphone then shows up under Sound, video and game controllers as USB Audio Device and under Universal Serial Bus controllers as USB Composite Device.

Right-click on the devices and select Properties to see the driver information. Under the Driver tab it will show the driver currently in use. The following box shows the system driver:

To update it, click Update Driver.

Choose «Install from a list or specific location».

Choose «Don’t search. I will choose the driver to install.»

Press the Have Disk… button.

Press the Browse… button. Navigate to «C:\Program Files\ Samson \ Samson C01U» and select the .inf file.

Press the Open button. Choose the Samson driver from the list and press Next.

As it’s installing, you will see several prompts that say the driver has not passed Windows Logo testing. Press Continue Anyway.

When the installation is complete, press Finish.

Now do the same procedure for the other device if it doesn’t do it automatically. (You should do this for both USB Audio Device and USB Composite Device.)

After you’re done, their names should change under Device Manager. The device under Sound, video and game controllers will become Samson Audio (WDM), and the device under Universal Serial Bus controllers will become Samson C01U. ( Samson C01U may be changed to a more generic name for all our similar microphones.)

The Driver listed under the Driver tab should be different for each, too. Make sure the latest version is shown in the Driver tab for both devices (here it is 1.0.15.0).

If the driver is not the correct version, you should be able to find the latest version by pressing the Update Driver… button.

C01U Pro Quick Start

1. Affix the C01U Pro to the tripod base or microphone stand using the included microphone swivel.

2. Position the microphone facing the sound source that you will be recording

3. Connect the included USB cable into the USB socket on the bottom of the microphone and into an available USB port on your computer.

4. Next, connect your headphones to the headphone output located on the front of the C01U Pro.

5. Launch your audio software and select the C01U Pro as the audio input and output devices.

6. Set up a mono record track in your software.

7. Set the level of the C01U Pro by slowly raising the level of the microphone while singing or playing an instrument into the microphone at the performance level. If you see the peak indicator illuminate red, your signal will be distorted. Turn the microphone level control down until it no longer flashes red.

8. The headphones will provide a mix of the direct signal that the microphone is picking up and the return audio from your software. If you want to only hear the audio back from your software you will need to turn off the direct monitoring.

9. Press RECORD and start capturing your performance!

Подключение, к чему и как?

Это USB микрофон, поэтому работает с любым компьютером. Не важно какая операционная система, работает с Windows от XP и выше. Работает с MacOs любой версии, а также с Linux Ubuntu. Используются драйверы операционной сисетемы. Никаких дополнительных установок не требуется. После подключения и установки драйверов Plug and Play микрофон начинает работать сразу.

Может монтироваться как на триножку, идущую в комплекте, так и на пантограф или настольную стойку. Монтируется с помощью не сложного обжимного/затяжного механизма. В некоторых случаях, особенно для более чистой записи, тоже бывает необходим для устранения звуков «П» и «Т» получающихся из-за удара воздуха о корпус микрофона при произношении.

Что входит в комплект?

Упаковка. Хорошая добротная коробка с ложементом в который уложен микрофон. Сам микрофон с держателем, навернутым на корпус для установки на микрофонную стойку и подставку. Триножка подставка. Триножка не телескопическая. Втулка переходник для разных стоек. USB кабель длиной 1,5 м. Инструкция.

Установка на пантограф.

Микрофон легко установить на пантограф, через переходник под разную резъбу винта пантографа. Также микрофон легко становится в антивибрационный подвес «паук» или «шокмаунт». Для устранения посторонних звуков получаемых от стука по столу или клавиатуре, если микрофон используется в игровом стриминге. Для получения более чистой записи это оправдано, т.к. идущая в комплекте триножка не спасает от стуков по столу и прочих шумов получаемых от действий пользователя.

Управление. Индикация и разъемы.

На передней панели расположен разъем mini jack 3,5 мм для подключения любых наушников. C этого разъема получаем звук без задержки. Индикатор подключения (зеленый LED-микрофон подключен). В процессе записи индикатор может мигать красным, что говорит о перегрузках микрофона. Разъем USB Тип-В BF, со стороны микрофона. Крепление переходника на микрофонную стойку или подставку.

Усиленная настольная стойка.

Применение оправдано при условии использования микрофона для начитки или озвучки, когда исполнитель не создает движений по столу или клавиатуре во время записи. Создавая этим звуки которые легко передаются в запись не смотря на изолятор, который отделяет стойку от стола. Благодаря большему весу микрофон более устойчив по сравнению с триножкой идущей в комплекте.
