Вы вступаете в противоборство с огромным количеством монстров, имея при себе лишь огромное количество бомб. Создавая различные западни, ловушки и взрывая тем самым врагов, вы становитесь на шаг ближе к возлюбленной . В игре присутствует наличие восьми уровней, каждый из которых уникален. Чем дальше вы будете проходить, тем ловчее, умнее и быстрее будут становится ваши противники. Чуть не забыл про боссов в конце каждого из уровней, с которыми вам придется проявить все свои лучшие боевые качества. Взрывая противника, вы можете получать различные бонусы: ускорение, увеличение мощности взрыва, возможность проходить сквозь стены, исчезать и многое другое. Сбор этих бонусов очень сильно помогут вам одолеть врага. И не забывайте! Будьте очень осторожными с бомбами, они не пощадят даже самого героя. Великая игра и пример того, как надо портировать с приставок. Эта версия была практически 1в1 соответствует оригиналу м приставки PC Engine/Turbografx-16, которая малоизвестна в Европе.

Кого радует эта версия, тому стоит посмотреть на Bomberman 93, 94 на PC Engine, (94 еще был портирован на Sega Megadrive под очевидным названием Mega Bomberman), на cерию Super Bomberman на Супер Нинтендо и Neo Bomberman для Neo-Geo который конечно же самый красивый из шестнадцатибитных из-за мощности системы и чудовищного по тем временам размера картриджей.

Кстати с нетплеем у эмуляторов этих приставок или аркадных автоматов обычно проблем нет, так что не одним Atomic, который неплох, но действительно выглядит коряво немного, возможно из-за палитры.

И кстати, оригинальный Bomberman с PC Engine будет проще запустить владельцам машинок, которые несовместимы или частично (не будет звука) или полностью с DOS/Win9x, но еще недостаточно мощные, чтобы осилить dosbox.

В середине 90ых помню еще играли в Saturn Bomberman вдесятером (!), что было недешево — 10 падов и куча разветвителей. Эта версия просто офигительна, жаль что не было порта на PC с нетплеем. Правда в режиме 10 игроков графика там сильно ухудшена, куда хуже, чем в Dynablaster, но оно и понятно — игровое поле огромное, так что крупные спрайты просто не влезли бы.

А вот трехмерные версии смотрятся как-то не так, будто чего-то не хватает.
