Scan works with wireless

If you have issues with not finding the scanner, I suggest removing previous scanner from the system preferences. Then add the scanner again. If it says that the file has malware, click on the Show in Finder, and remove the HP folder completely. Try adding the printer/scanner again, it should ask to download and install the latest version. Go ahead download it. Once it completes, select the printer. Look for the Name, Location, and Use dropdown. On the Use dropdown, do not use the default AirPrint, instead select the name of the printer/scanner. Add it. Go back to HP Easy Scan and select the scanner. The scanner should be working now.

If that doesn’t work, best bet is connecting the USB. Its quite a hassle but at least it works.

My only assumption is that the app doesn’t support the AirPrint driver and only a matter of time until the app is phased out to HP Smart. That is a complete mess itself.

HP Easy Scan Saved the Day

I downloaded HP Easy Scan to my new iMac Pro and once the download completed and the App opened, I went to devices on my computer and clicked on my office ‘HP OfficeJet Pro 8600′ Icon — immediately my computer started downloading a new print driver file. Once completed, a document that I had previously placed on my printer started being scanned. The Easy Scan App reappeared and when the scan completed and displayed in the App, I clicked on «Send» which opened a save window where I selected a Folder for storing all future scans. Delighted, I stacked several documents on my printers from feed and each document was scanned. When completed and I clicked on Save. I went to my computer’ scan folder and there each document had been saved to a separate jpeg. Thanks HP for a great, AND FREE, scan App. It will save me a lot of work back when I used to scan to a USB drive, switch it to my computer, and search HP_Scan directory and hope my document appeared. This is a productivity time saver! Kudos !!

Works for me

I bought a 27 inch iMac 2019 to replace my 2010 which couldn’t be upgraded to the current macOS. I just did the Apple transfer to the new computer and «HP scan» program worked but it was erratic. Got rid of that program, and loaded this «HP Easy Scan» and it works great with my several years old HP OJ Pro 8600 Plus. My only complaint is it didn’t let me hook up to my bought and paid for OCR program. This «HP Easy Scan» program does OCR and it does it fairly well, but I don’t think it does as well as my dedicated OCR program. I don’t know where the OCR is done, and yes, i could scan to image then use my OCR program. But it would be nice if this could call up and directly feed the scan to my OCR program. I’ll go ahead and give it 5 stars because it is quite a bit better than my former «HP Scan» — looks almost the same but is more configurable, and it works on my new computer and OS. I’m using macOS Catalina.

Doesn’t work with photosmart C7200 but does with Officejet 7610

Recognised my printer/scanner(s). However with the C7200 I got the dreaded message: «HP Photosmart C7200 series is currently unavailable. Ensure your device is powered on, check the connection, and ensure your network is functioning properly. If these conditions are correct, restart the device and try scanning again». Which of course I did, and of course got the same message. Shame because it works with the other scanner I have, the HP 7610 (which is a pretty awful A3 printer — don’t recommend it, it was very cheap but worth paying a few quid more for a Cannon, as it can’t do double sided without leaving massive margins or rescaling so its not to scale, so no good for printing double sided documents that have a header/footer). Going back to Easyscan, with it working it also does OCR which is nice. So 1 star for the C7200 and 5 for the 7610. However because it should work with both I’ve put it at 2 star.

Anyway for anyone who this doesn’t work and just needs a scan and isn’t fussed about OCR then use the inbuilt Apple ‘Image Capture’ which does work. You’ll find it in launchpad > Other and then you might need to click on ‘shared’ to see your scanner if connected to wifi.

Not working with Catalina

Had great use out of this app with my HP OfficeJet Pro 6960 however since updating OS X everytime I scan it says nothing detected in document feeder when the item is on the flatbed. It will scan through the document feeder but not eberything i scan will go through this and i use it everyday. I am scanning through the HP normally scanner software for know but as in the title its not as easy as this. Please HP fix this auto switching between flatbed and document feeder issue so I can use my scanner properly.

wie kann man nur .

seit über 3 Jahren nutze ich meinen HP Color LaserJet M476dw zum scannen und drucken. Mit der mitgelieferten App konnte man auf einfache Weise Dokumente scannen und drucken. Mit wenigen Klicks wechselte ich die Auflösung, die Seitenorientierung, ob Duplex-Scan oder nicht, welches Dateiformat. Ja, so schön einfach war das.
Seit dieser Woche bin ich am Verzweifeln. Bei jedem Mehrfach- oder Duplex-Scan bricht der Drucker mit einer Fehlermeldung ab.
Ich habe gesehen, dass mit HP Easy Scan Rettung nahen soll — habe gleich die App installiert. Aber liebe HPler, was soll das denn? EASY war die alte App. Hier muss ich bei den gleichen Einstellungen wie zuvor anstatt EINEM Klick immer gleich ZWEI oder DREI Klicks machen und mich jedesmal neu orientieren. Und auch hier taucht immer die nichtssagende Fehlermeldung auf („Bei der Kommunikation mit dem Scanner ist ein Fehler aufgetreten.“). Ich kann keine Dokumente mehr mit Duplex-Scan einscannen. Auch beim Scan mehrerer Seiten erscheint immer die Fehlermeldung. Warum kann man eine neue App nicht mal einfach besser machen als die vorherige? Einzig das Layout hat sich verbessert — das hilft aber leider nicht, wenn jeder Scan mit einer Fehlermeldung abbricht.

Funktioniert und gut!

Wurde der Treiber aktualisiert, ist alles kein Problem mehr. Also es lohnt sich erst einmal auf der Webseite von HP vorbeizuschauen und den aktuellen Treiber für dem Drucker/Scanner herunterladen. Zwar ist angegeben, dass dieser von 2014 ist, aber es ist eine neuere Version im Archiv vorhanden. Da scheinen wohl die Admins Etwas hinterher zu hinken.

Ich bin per Zufall darauf gestoßen, Nachdem ich nicht scannen konnte und etwas im Web umgesehen habe. Von dort aus wurde auch dann hier auf den Shop verlinkt.
Kleiner Hinweis die Aktionen sind teilweise mit dem Automator gesteuert und lassen sich bearbeiten. So ist es zum Beispiel möglich dem Dokumentnamen beim „Scannen an Computer» ein Datum hinzuzufügen.

Einfach installirt und tut 🙂

Habe die App heute auf meinem Macbook Pro installiert. Das ging sehr schnell und sehr einfach. Drucker eingerichtet, in der App zugeordnet, und ich kann problemlos scannen und drucken und das obwohl mein Drucker über WLAN angebunden ist. Ich habe eben völlig prüblemlos 20 Seiten am Stück gescannt. Bei mir funktioniert die App tadellos.
