eric6 plug-ins

The plug-in extensions can be loaded from within eric6 by selecting Plugins вћЎ Plugin Repository . The source code for the plug-ins is available via the «eric Code» page (see sidebar for the link to this page).

Installation

eric may be installed via the Python Package Index PyPI or from a distribution archive available through the eric web site. These installation methods are elaborated below. It is recommended to install eric into Python virtual environment. This can be created with the command » python3 -m venv

«. Use the Python executable of this environment in all further commands.

Python Package Index PyPI

This is the easiest way and will install all prerequisites upon request. However, this requires an up-to-date version of pip in the environment created above. In order to create the environment and install eric execute these steps in the given order.

Linux and macOS

/eric_env/bin/python3 -m pip install —upgrade pip

/eric_env/bin/python3 -m pip install eric-ide

Windows

• cd %USERPROFILE%
• c:\Python39\python.exe -m venv eric_env
• %USERPROFILE%\eric_env\Scripts\python.exe -m pip install —upgrade pip
• %USERPROFILE%\eric_env\Scripts\python.exe -m pip install eric-ide
• %USERPROFILE%\eric_env\Scripts\eric6_post_install.exe

Note 1: Change paths above as appropriate.
Note 2: The last command will install menu entries (on all systems) and desktop icons (on Windows) for the eric IDE and eric web browser.

Distribution Archive

In order to install eric and its pre-requisites follow these steps.

• Download the eric distribution archive from the site given above.

Linux

• Using the package manager of the distribution install these packages.
  • python3 (incl. python3-distutils)
  • all Qt5 and PyQt5 packages
• Thereafter extract the downloaded eric distribution archive (see above) to a temporary location and execute the install.py script (e.g. python3 install.py ).

As an alternative to the second step you may create a Python Virtual Environment and install eric into this. The install script will ask for permission to install Python packages not found but required.

macOS

• Download Python 3 available at python.org and install it.
• Extract the downloaded eric distribution archive (see above) to a temporary location and execute the install.py script as administrator (e.g. sudo python3 install.py ).
  Note: If some pre-requisite Python packages are not available, the script will ask for permission to install the missing one.

As an alternative to the second step you may create a Python Virtual Environment and install eric into this. The install script will ask for permission to install Python packages not found but required.

Windows

• Download the 64-bit variant of Python 3 available at python.org and install it.
• Extract the downloaded eric distribution archive (see above) to a temporary location and execute the install.py script (e.g. python.exe install.py ).
  Note: If some pre-requisite Python packages are not available, the script will ask for permission to install the missing one.
• Optional: If Qt development is desired, the respective tools need to be available. This requires the installation of the Qt toolkit using these steps.
  • Download the Qt online installer from the Qt download site.
  • Install Qt by executing the installer.
  • Configure the path to the Qt tools on the Qt page of the eric configuration dialog.

  Note: The Qt development tools may be installed with the command C:\Python39\Scripts\python.exe -m pip install qt5-applications instead.

What to do after installation

When eric is started the very first time it will recognized that it has not been configured and will open the configuration dialog. Although sensible default values for all configuration parameters have been selected it is recommended to browse through the various configuration pages. Especially the Debugger, Editor, Python and Qt pages may be of interest.

Optional Installations

eric supports and interfaces to several tools useful for development. The following list gives references to some of them. This will allow you to make full use of the eric IDE and the offered plug-ins:

скачал там *.py файлы
инстал запускал — ниче

там кажись надо ставить так:
1. QT
2. SIP
3. QScintilla2
4. PyQT
5. ERIC

я прав?

How to Install Eric6 IDE for Python on Windows

Python is one of the best General purpose programming languages out there and is extensively used in web applications, scientific research and more. There are plenty of IDEs or Integrated Development Environments for Pythons to choose from, some of which are free and some are paid. Some popular paid ones such as Pycharm, WingIDE etc. both of which also have a free version with limited features and tools. However there are some lesser known Python IDEs such as Ninja IDE, Eric IDE, Pyscripter etc. which while being free are also quite feature rich that they give IDEs like Pycharm a run for their money.

Eric IDE is one such IDE that isn’t known to many but contains so many features that its hard to believe it’s a free tool. But installation can be a bit tricky for Windows users in lack of proper documentaiton. Here’s how you can install Eric 6 IDE on Windows.

First of all, download Pyqt5 and install it. Please refer to this documentation to install Pyqt5(you need to have SIP install for it to successfully install)

Download Eric 6 installer package from their website here. After downloading the zip file extract it on your disk. Now copy the location of the folder. If you extract the files in the downloads folder, the location path will be something like: C:usersYOURPCNAMEdownloadseric6extracted

Now open command prompt(type cmd in windows search and hit Enter). Now type cd and paste the path of the folder location and hit Enter. Now open the folder through windows explorer and make sure there is an install.py file in the extracted directory. If it is, switch to command prompt again and type install.py and hit Enter.

Now wait until the installation is complete. Once done, you will see a message saying: Installation complete, Press enter to continue…

Now Hit enter and type eric6 and press Enter again. This should open up the Eric6 IDE.

To configure for autocompletion etc. in Eric6, go to Settings>preferences in the menu and go to Autocompletion>QSintilla. Select “from document and API files”. Now open Editor>APIs and select Python3 from the language dropdown. Click on Python3.4 API and press click on compile APIs. Do the same for QScintilla. Make sure to play around with other settings such as Code Checkers, file handling etc. to match your preferences.

how to install eric python IDE and all the plugins on windows 7

so, i want to learn python and looking around for python IDE, i already have PyCharm but i also want to be able to make GUI so i download eric IDE eric IDE need these prerequisites to install

i already download them all and able to install python 2.7 but i don’t understand how to install the other, the only guide i found is only for win xp or linux.

I just went through this process on Windows 7, so hopefully I can help you.

If you are running Windows7, get the following:

1) Python 2.7.0 link (11 was the version I used) amd64 — I got bit by this. When you follow the download link on the eric website, click on the version number instead of the download link. This will give you the option of downloading the x64 version.

2) PyQT 4.10 link -You will want to get this version if you are using python 2.7.x. There are no 5.x builds for Python 2.7. When looking to download the binaries (unless you want to compile), pay close attention to both the x64/x32 and the Py[ver] the link is for.

Note, it is important that both Python and PyQt be in sync for x32/x64 or Eric will not compile. It is also important to note that PyQt is Python version sensitive. PyQt 5.3.x is currently only built for Python 3.3.x, not Py 2.3x. PyQt 4.10.x has been built for both Py 2.7.x and Py 3.3.x

3) The Eric Zip, uncompressed, in a writable directory for the user.

Если вы находитесь в Windows, вы можете получить бинарные пакеты со страницы загрузки PyQt4, которая установит все, кроме Python и Eric.

Игнорируйте исходные пакеты в верхней части страницы — прокрутите вниз до места установки Windows exe и убедитесь, что вы выбрали правильный для версии Python, которую вы хотите использовать (2.7 или 3.4), и платформы, на которой вы находитесь (32bit или 64bit).

Вам не нужны никакие другие загрузки. Так как вы уже установили Python, все, что вам нужно сделать, это запустить программу установки PyQt4, а затем запустить программу установки Eric.

Существует также PyQt Wiki, который вы можете найти полезным, если вы только начинаете.

Установить eric6 на Windows 8.1 x64 не так просто.

Python 3.5.1 x64 устанавливается в \appdata\local\programs\python\python35.

Pyqt5.5.1 x64 не обнаруживает python 3.5 и он построен только для python 3.4, и начинает удалять папку с именем C:\python34.
