Now I have tried to find answers online but feel that these warnings are turning up on many peoples PCs and the first they know about them is when they actually have a problem with their PCs such as a Virus.

My PC is running and connecting to network without problems, so I think that these events can just confuse the issue that makes users look in the event viewer in the first place —- when searching online I kept finding references to Virus and these events, but on closer inspection found that there were other Events that were the root of the cause.

I have not found a solution

I would really like to get rid of them and suspect that it might be caused by how fast the PC boots and shuts down I have tried going to Services and setting Wlan autoconfig to «automatic with delay» but I get error 83 under «The delayed auto-start flag could not be set» when I push apply.

I also found this but I cant remember where but its to do with Wlan Autoconfig

The WLANSVC service provides the logic required to configure, discover, connect to, and disconnect from a wireless local area network (WLAN) as defined by IEEE 802.11 standards. It also contains the logic to turn your computer into a software access point so that other devices or computers can connect to your computer wirelessly using a WLAN adapter that can support this. Stopping or disabling the WLANSVC service will make all WLAN adapters on your computer inaccessible from the Windows networking UI. It is strongly recommended that you have the WLANSVC service running if your computer has a WLAN adapter.

Have tried Hotfix Windows6.1-KB2494172-x64 which did not work

I am using Windows 64 bit Win 7 and have a Railink based PCI Edimax Wireless card, I have tried uninstalling the utility but problem persists.

If I disable Wlan autoconfig in services it stops the problem, but then no internet connection

Happy New Year and I hope somebody can help.

WLAN-Autoconfig critical errors 4001 and 10002

I opened my event viewer and filtered the log for critical errors and saw both WLAN-AutoConfig 4001 and WLAN-AutoConfig 10002 errors and I’m not sure why. How can they be fixed?

  • I’m connected via wifi on my home’s own network.
  • I’m using my own Toshiba Satellite C650D laptop.
  • error messages are:
In the general tab of the event viewer for event ID 4001 — WLAN AutoConfig service has successfully stopped
In the general tab of the event viewer for event ID 10002 — WLAN Extensibility Module has stopped. Module Path: C:\windows\system32\Rtlihvs.dll
  • I can’t no for sure if this is happening on other profiles on my computer because I’m currently having another issue «Windows could not connect to the system event notification service service» which prevents me from logging in to accounts I’m not the admin of.

I am now replying from my sister’s laptop because I keep getting disconnected from the internet on mine. I wasn’t being disconnected from the internet at the time I made my report, but now I am.

This is what I get after running the diagnostics.

Question

I am running a Dell Precision M4800 with Windows 7 Pro (Service Pack 1) and my Wireless LAN connection keeps disconnecting. The wireless adapter is an Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260. I only have one wireless network in range and it is set to a Security Type: WPA-2 Personal and an Encryption Type: AES. My PC is set-up to Auto Connect to my network so every time it disconnects it reconnects very quickly but if I am connected to a VPN it will generally knock me out of that connection.

I have been using Event Viewer to log WLAN-AutoConfig/Operational and the following is a short section of the log that includes the disconnect:

The ID 11004 message description is Wireless Security Stopped.

The ID 11010 message description is Wireless Security Started.

The ID 11005 message description is Wireless Security Succeeded.

I run for minutes to hours with these three messages continually showing up in the log (with no apparent fixed time cycle) and then when I get a disconnect from the wireless network it logs an ID 8003 message (WLAN AutoConfig service has successfully disconnected from a wireless network) which is when I get an alert that my Wireless Network is disconnected. That is followed by an ID 8000 message (WLAN AutoConfig service started a connection to a wireless network) from my llowed quickly by and within the next second I see ID 11000 (Wireless network association started), ID 11010 (Wireless security started), ID 11001 (Wireless network association succeeded), ID 11005 (Wireless security succeeded) and finally ID 8001 (WLAN AutoConfig service has successfully connected to a wireless network).

On a rare occasion I will get and ID 11006 message (Wireless security failed) just before the ID 8003 message.

I have two questions. The first is why would my Wireless Security stop so often? The second on is, is there a setting that will stop this from happening?
