На днях Microsoft расширила доступность Windows 10 May 2020 Update для пользователей. Ожидается, в будущем в Feature Experience Pack появится больше функций и компонентов оболочки Windows 10.

Windows 10 Upgrade Requirements:

Windows 8 users must have Windows 8.1 with Update 1 installed.

To check if the necessary Windows Updates have been installed:

First verify that you have IE11 installed? If not then download and install IE11: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/ie-11-worldwide-languages

1) Verify that for Windows 8.1 KB3035583 and KB2976978 are installed.

(KB3035583 and KB2952664 for Windows 7)

Open Windows Update as follows:

Right click on ‘Start’ / Control Panel / Windows Updates and in the bottom left corner click on the ‘Installed Updates’ link.

In the upper right corner there is a ‘Search Installed Update’ box. Enter the appropriate pair of KB numbers (one at a time) for your version of Windows. Example: KB3035583

Note: If these updates were installed within the last week continue on to step #2, otherwise un-install both updates and re-install them and then continue to step #2.

2) Open Windows ‘Task Scheduler’ (Start / Computer / Manage) and navigate to:

Computer Management / System Tools / Task Scheduler / Task Scheduler Library / Microsoft / Windows / Application Experience

3) Right click on ‘Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser’ and select the ‘Run’ option. You may need to wait anywhere between 10 to 30 minutes or more for the task to complete and return to the ‘Ready’ Status. Press the F5 key to refresh the ‘Status’ about every 10 minutes.

4) Open File Explorer in Windows 8.1 and navigate to the C:\Windows\System32\GWX folder. Right click on the GWX.exe file and select the ‘Run as administrator’ option. Click ‘Yes’ when prompted.

5) Let the computer idle, keep your laptop connected to AC power and about 1 hour (take a good movie break), more if you have a slower computer (about 2 hours to play it safe) and if the GWX icon is still not displayed, shut you device totally down (do not hibernate or go into Sleep mode) for the night.

6) The next day power on the computer and wait about 30 minutes, the GWX icon should now be visible.

7) Click on the GWX icon in the taskbar and view the 6 slide presentation. You’re now ready to immediately make your reservation or wait a while as it’s a free upgrade for a year starting on July 29th, 2015

The Get Windows 10 app will provide with a tutorial of how the reservation works.

I have two questions.

1. Will an in place upgrade require re installation of all apps

2. If I am in the Insider program, will it always grab the latest build I am set up for? Example is, I cannot upgrade to 16299 which I see available in my windows update (the update fails) and wanted to try an in place upgrade to get to that build.

2. This is valid for Windows 10 Home and Pro edition only.

my version of windows 10 is a FREE upgrade version from windows 7 via GW10.

KB4041691 is trying to load every day and heavily slowing my computer. it will not load because of some error

I am going through your procedures and got as far as MCT — upgrade to windows 10 pro.

This requires me to have a windows 10 license

question: Do I have a license (for windows 10)?

I got this link from you support agent, and this content is supposed to help me with my issue.

I have a «windows won’t load» problem after a failed (and not asked for!!) windows update.

Now windows is unable to start, and the basic options available on the bootable usb I created from your link are all failing.

Your support agent offered me a remote control access to my computer, which is not able to boot. That’s how well he understood my issue.

Windows is not detecting the boot sector on my hard drive (since the failed update and restart), that’s why the agent I had before told me to download your iso file.

I can’t afford to lose all my 500 giga of data just because windows sent me a corrupted update, which it installed without even asking for a permission, or at least asking a permission to restart my computer.

Non of the standard options are working, I doesn’t want to load a restore point, nor it want to go back to the previous version, nor it wants to repair the start process.

When you send corrupted updates, please provide assistance to reverse the issue.

А в этой статье я хочу рассказать о тех способах, с помощью которых вы сможете установить это обновление на свой компьютер.

Само собой, для прошаренных пользователей эта информация будет не нова. Но если вы не особо в этом разбираетесь, то надеюсь, что эта инструкция будет для вас полезна.

Стандартные средства обновления Windows:

Центр обновлений Windows

Самый простой способ обновить систему — это воспользоваться центром обновлений Windows.

Для того, чтобы это сделать, Зайдите «Параметры» — «Обновления и безопасность» — «Центр обновлений Windows» и нажмите на кнопку «Проверка наличия обновлений».

Дальше все будет сделано автоматически.

Этот способ самый простой, но к сожалению, не всегда рабочий. По этому рассмотрим и другие.

Программа предварительной оценки Windows

Ещё один способ, обновиться стандартными методами — это воспользоваться «Программой предварительной оценки Windows».

Однако, этот способ подходит только для участников программы Windows Insider. А если вы состоите в этой программе, то вы уже по определению знаете, как этим пользоваться, по этому инструкцию по этому методу я писать смысла нет. 🙂

Сторонний Софт:

Если обновиться стандартными средствами у вас, по какой-то причине, не получается, то имеет смысл воспользоваться сторонними приложениями. Например такими, как:

Windows 10 Update Assistant

Элементарная в освоении программка, которая сделает всю работу за вас. Скачать его можно с официального сайта Microsoft, по этой ссылке .

После установки, программа проверит достаточно ли на вашем жестком диске места для установки обновления, и совместима ли ваша система с новым обновлением.

Если все в порядке, то установка начнется автоматически.

Media Creation Tool

Еще одно приложение с официального сайта. Но его функционал чуть шире. Оно позволяет или обновиться до актуальной версии, или скачать ISO-образ с официального сайта.

Это все самые основные, и дружелюбные для пользователя, способы обновиться до актуальной версии. Конечно, есть ещё вариант со скачиванием ISO-образа на прямую с официального сайта Microsoft. Но это не так просто. Всем желающим его не раздают, и нужно идти на хитрость. А это уже тема для отдельной статьи.
