How do I get the Built-in FaceTime HD Camera on my IMAC to work with Windows 8?

depends on the version of imac you have, if its an older one, your out of luck
apple dropped support for windows drivers like usb and most addon hardware support in boot camp. suggest you ask this question in apple/ community
I have a imac pre 2006, running snow leopard. boot camp does not support windows drivers any more. I had to switch to Parallels

The issue was resolved for me. Here’s how:
Boot in Mac OS. Go to Launchpad -> Utilities -> Boot Camp Assistant.
Run Bootcamp Assistant. Select the option for Downloading Windows Support Software on a DVD/CD.
It runs and downloads ALL the drivers needed, and all the software required.
Once done, boot in Windows 8. Install the downloaded software- it does it automatically on setup.exe.
All devices — Camera, Audio, Mic, everything will work.

Sorry, I forgot to mention- my machine is Mid 2011 iMac, with Mountain Lion.
With the procedure that I have listed, both the OSs- Mountain Lion and Win 8 are fully working. Except that sometimes I get a bad-pool-header error in Win 8. I have noticed that this happens when the Computer wakes up after a ‘Sleep’. So having set as ‘Sleep : Never’ in Advanced Power Options, I am not having any problems for now!

Many hardware names are usually named after the chip model, and each chip model has its own dedicated driver, so as long as you know the chip model used by the hardware, you can find the right driver.
