Не могу запустить Arch/Manjaro с LiveUSB

После загрузочного меню вылетает данная ошибка.

ERROR: «/dev/disk/by-label/MJRO1711» device did not show up after 30 seconds.

Твоя система пытается найти раздел с именем MJRO1711 , чтобы с него дальше грузиться, и не может. Дальше нужно объяснять?

Так что мне делать? Переименовать флешку?

Потом они жалуются, что в линуксе мало новичков.

Мы не жалуемся. Я разъяснил сообщение об ошибке, за ТСом осталось сделать простейший логический вывод. Людям, которые так не умеют (самостоятельно), в линуксе делать нечего (не потому что элитаризм, mind you, а потому что очень сложно будет).

Будь добр, напиши команду как это сделать. Я всё равно сейчас буду гуглить.

Я не знаю, как ты создавал свой LiveUSB. У тебя там может быть vfat, а может быть гибридный iso9660, записанный посекторно. Во втором случае вообще проблема не в этом.

Короче, тебе нужно удостовериться, что раздел на флешке называется MJRO1711 . Как ты создавал его — я не знаю, какими-то сторонними программами никогда не пользовался. Если там vfat, то dosfslabel . Если iso9660, то проблема не в этом.

Сейчас запишу через что-то другое и отпишусь.

Прекращай беспорядочно «шаманить» и переименуй, наконец, раздел.

ТС, не слушай других. Бери dd и запиши им образ, и всё.

Для этого нужен линукс которого нет. Так что не получиться. И да, это был моя ошибка. После перезаписи всё заработало. Спасибо intelfx .

Здесь ещё проблема получилась: когда выбираешь в загрузочном меню Manjaro Architect русский язык, в установщике локаль сбивается и отображаются квадраты. Можно ли выбирать английскую локаль, но чтобы установилась русская?

Не знаю, с Manjaro дела не имел.

Я уже разабрался. Ещё вопрос: для дуалбута как следует выделять место из диска C:, изменять его размер, а потом делить свободное пространство? Просто страшно потерять файлы.

Именно так. Сам недавно таким образом ставил Linux в дуалбут.

В десятке есть WSL с dd, в том числе.

У счастью у меня семёрочка.

Да уже всё поставлено давно. Сижу попиливаю i3-gaps. На Manjaro впервые пересел, от того и проблемы.

[SOLVED] Archiso and «Waiting 30 seconds»

I wanted to build my own Arch Linux CD with some extra utilities but kept running in to a problem booting. I used the archiso package and the releng configuration. After getting the initial boot menu with the options of i686 and x86_64, etc., I kept getting:

I finally got a spare disk and did a clean Arch install including archiso, but the problem persists.

If I wait for the interactive prompt and run:

then the boot process continues and seems to work.

What am I missing that is keeping this mount from happening automatically? The results are the same trying to boot a BIOS as well as a UEFI system.

I think you should just mount in this way:
mount /dev/sdxR /dir
You can just have a try maybe. However, in my opinion, the links under /dev/disk/by-xxxx/ are all soft links, not the device itself.

Thanks but no dice. I tried just mounting /dev/sr0 to /run/archiso/bootmnt/ but something is still looking for the soft link in /dev/disk/by-label. The only way I get it to work is by creating the soft link and then using the soft link in the mount.

Just a sanity check, but is the disk actually labeled ARCH_201504? lsblk —output=NAME,LABEL should tell you for sure.

MSC — your question put me on the right track. I got inconsistent results trying to read the disk label. While I had created the iso on an Arch Linux box, the only burner I had available was on my Windows 7 machine. I copied the iso to the Windows box and verified the copy with md5sum. Windows said it burned and verified the disk just fine and Windows read the label too. I finally put a burner in my Arch box and used it to burn the image. Now it works just fine. Thanks.

[SOLVED]Unable to boot to install Arch

I have tried and tried to install the i686 net install iso from cd and usb. I get to boot and get messages like:

Waiting 30 seconds for device /dev/disk/by-label/ARCH_201108 .
Error: Boot device didn’t show up after 30 seconds.
Falling back to interactive prompt.
You can try and fix the problem manually.
ramfs$

I’ve found several posts suggesting solutions:
like:

cd /dev
ln -s sr0 archiso
exit
or
udevadm trigger, or
arcisodevice=/dev/sr0

to check my work I tried installing an archbang.iso and an x86 iso, with the same results.

I have succesfully installed the i686 arch net install 3 times on virtual box.

I have one partition remaining on my SATA HD that I am installing to.

It looks like this is a problem because there are several posts with the same problem.

Now that I am confident enough to install Arch as a full install on my HD, I am running into problems.

To check my work I tried installing an archbang.iso and an x86 iso, with the same results.

Is there a fix for this?

Welcome to the forums.

That error is more common with USB sticks. It pops up when it can’t find a drive labeled «ARCH_201108». If the same thing happens with a CD/DVD, then you probably wrote it as a Data Disc instead of a Project (where it lets you choose the .iso file). That’s not good because ISOLINUX, the bootloader used on the Arch ISO does not support Rock Ridge or Joliet filenames. For the USB stick you can either try to label it «ARCH_201108» and hope for the best, or try a different method.

Thanks for the response DSpider. To make sure, I made another CD and it definitely was an iso install.

And I got the same results. I also tried installing iso to usb using the dd if=archlinux.iso of=/dev/sd[x] ,but
that didn’t work.

I did test the CD install on an older Dell computer and it allowed me to get to the command line where I could enter /arch/setup and go through the install process.

This is a newer Dell. The difference is on the newer one I get to a graphical menu where I can boot arch, boot an existing, do a memtest, etc. When I choose boot arch, I get the errors described in my original post. I can’t get to the point where I do the /arch/setup.

The video drivers on both computers seem to be intel i915. Both HD’s are SATA. The cpu on this newer computer is an i5.
I am wondering now if the problem is in the video driver.

The boot on the arch cd shows
.linux /arch/boot/i686/vmlinuz archbasedir=arch archisolabel=ARCH_201108 initrd=/arch/boot/i686/archiso.img

I will try install by ram if I must, but I am wondering if I can make changes to the above grub to get it to boot?
I have made several attempts to do that but still no luck. One of the mods was to tack vga=77? on the end.

Помогите плиз с установкой ArchLinux.
Пытаюсь установить его на виртуальную машину vmware. Стартую со скаченого образа.
И получаю вот такую фигню.

Подскажите пожалуйста как это победить!

У gentoo/arch в этом плане очень хорошая вики.

Понимаю, что прошло два года, но вдруг кому-то поможет. Действительно, почти все меры из сети вроде переименовать флешку или CD не помогают. Я тут заметил, что у меня размер памяти для машины стоял 384 «метра», я как-то пропустил этот момент. Увеличил до 1 Гб, сразу всё пошло! Да, речь именно об VMWARE.
