I am trying to find a video on How to make Firefox start when Windows startup?

There are instructions on how to do it but I get confused really fast. I like videos to show me.

you have to do that in Windows 10 autostart folder in the start menu. You can do that by: 1. Press the Windows Logo Key + R, type shell:startup, and then select OK. This opens the Startup folder. 2. find the app you’re looking to add or remove, and drag and drop it in the folder or copy it, then Paste the shortcut to your app into the Startup folder to have it run at startup.

Are you talking about what is opened when Firefox starts?

Type about:preferences#general in the address bar.

There are two settings;

  • When Firefox Starts

When the browser is started, what do you want to display. Many of us choose Show My Home Page.

When a new page is opened, what do you want to display.

# Use Current Page: Use whatever page(s) are open at that time. # Use Bookmark # Restore To Default: about:home shows a Mozilla home page with tools.

You can use any of these that you wish;

about:home (Firefox default home page), about:newtab (shows the sites most visited), about:blank (a blank page),

or you can enter any web page or about: page you want.

Hi CWilkinson, Firefox is different from Chrome in this regard. Firefox’s built-in home page setting can include multiple tabs, and if you start up with your home page, Firefox will display all of those tabs. However, they also will appear in a new window (e.g., Ctrl+n) or when you click the Home button.

If that’s fine with you, I think the earlier reply may cover you. See also: How to set the home page.

If you use a lot of new windows or often use the Home button, that may not work well for you. A workaround is to modify your desktop shortcut to list pages you want to load only when you use the shortcut. Here are a couple old threads on that if you’re interested:

In windows 7, how do I make firefox start automatically when I turn on the pc

Chosen solution

Start Menu -> Startup folder -> Drag Firefox shortcut icon to Startup folder.

If you do not have Startup folder in Start Menu, create a new folder named «Startup» in Start Menu -> Drag Firefox shortcut icon to Startup folder.

Check and tell if its working.

That worked, thanks. When I turn on the pc, I almost always go to the internet before anything else, so this eliminates one step. It doesn’t seem to save any time, however, but it is easy. If anyone else wants to try this, it looks like it’s very easy to undo if you change your mind.

How do I make Firefox launch automatically when I turn on my computer? At the moment it takes ages to start and I’d like to get going as soon as I turn on the machine. I am using Windows 10. Thanks in advance.

Chosen solution

hi MontgomeryS, like prior versions of windows win10 has an autostart folder in the startmenu where you could place program shortcuts — those will be launched as soon as you sign into your account.

press the windows-key + R and open %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup — then the right folder will open up. you can then right-click the firefox icon on your desktop, copy it and then paste it into this startup folder.
