hi Kox. I ‘m Greg, an eleven years awarded MVP, Volunteer Moderator, and Independent Advisor here to help you until this is resolved.

1) Check for game Updates in MS Store Hub (three dots at top right of Store app) > Downloads & Updates.

2) Run the MS Store apps troubleshooter at Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.

3) Try to Reset or Repair the game in Windows Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > [Name of game] > Advanced Options > Reset or Repair. Restart PC.

4) If that’s not enough then uninstall the game from the same place, restart PC, reinstall the game from MS Store Hub (three dots at top right of Store app) > My Library.

5) If the above steps don’t help then go over this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki.

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files, and also Step 16 to test a new Local Admin account. Then continue with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.

6) Update your drivers and BIOS/UEFI firmware from PC or motherboard maker’s Support Downloads web page, using the full model number, Serial Number or Dell Service Tag on sticker. Compare the latest drivers available for download with the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start button. Make sure you have the latest BIOS or UEFI firmware, Chipset, Display (Video), Sound, USB3, Bluetooth, Network and all other drivers, or else download and install the latest now.

Updating drivers from the Device Manager or Windows Update is rarely enough. The most basic thing we need to learn to maintain a PC is keep the latest manufacturer’s drivers installed from their Support Downloads web page.

7) If nothing else works then do a Repair Install, by installing Media Creation Tool, open tool and choose to Upgrade Now. This reinstalls Windows while keeping files, programs and most settings in place, is the most stable method to advance to the latest version, and solves most problems. https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/software-downlo.

Forza Horizon 4 crash on windows 10 20h2

Yesterday, I purchased the game from a store, as I don’t have a very big internet plan at my home to download the entire 90gb game. So when I try to open it, it crashes immediately, it doesn’t even opens. After wasting hours of time, I get to know from many places that, we cannot play the game in windows 10 20h2,

we need windows 10 1903/1909. I have kept the game installed, I haven’t deleted it, all I want to know is when is Microsoft going to fix this issue?? I know they release two updates for the OS every year, one is for security and the another is performance related, the recent was in October 2020, and as far as I know, it was a security update, and now it’s December 2020, I want to ask that are they going to fix this problem in the upcoming OS update?? I read on a website that they are going to release 21h1 in first half of 2021, and it’s going to be a performance related update, which is going to comprise of many new features, but the author of the post on the website also said, there is no guarantee about the features mentioned in the article, and the main thing is, nothing was said regarding this issue, so I want to ask that, are they also going to fix this issue in the update or we have to wait till the first-half of 2022??

Today, I saw that, windows has given offline update installers for windows build 19042 on a site, I ran to my laptop and quickly typed winver in run, and confirmed that I have the same windows build, and then I checked for windows updates via settings in my laptop as I thought updates will be available there too if offline updates installers are released on the sites, and I found two updates,

1). Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 — v.5.85 (KB890830)

2). 2021-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64 based Systems (KB4598242)

Currently I am downloading them, I guess and wish that, the cumulative update brings the availability to play Forza horizon 4 in 20H2. I will make another edit after the updates are installed and after i check if it helps us to play the game.

On 13th Jan, I got the two updates mentioned above, but none of them helped Forza to work, and then I got angry, so I deleted the game, today I saw three replies to the question, so I thought to see what it is. but those weren’t the solution. I have now got a good internet package so I can download it easily. But I did not wanted to fill the storage with things that don’t work, so that’s why I deleted it. But I am still searching for the solution, and as soon as I find it, I will post it here.

I just remembered that I did not mentioned about one importing thing. When I had purchased the game, the seller, downloaded a file named 20h2.bat or something like that, first he had searched for fixing the issue on Youtube for windows 10 20h2, in which one video, the uploader had given a link in description, and gave the file to download for free. via that file, he showed that people with windows 10 20h2, can play the game by running that file. so I ran the file but nothing had happened.

I thought, I had mentioned it previously, but I hadn’t, so I posted it in this edit.

Just bought and downloaded fh4 from Microsoft Store (It took 30hours to download on my internet so I don’t want to reinstall it). When I first launched the game it crashed on grey screen after the splash art disappeared. (Title bar is turning white when splash art disappears) I have no clue what is happening with it. Just bought a new game and it’s crashing already :c

When I was trying to get gray screen crash fixed, I thought that I will try to rollback my windows version to 1909 from 20H2. When the 1909 was opening, I had a inaccessible boot device error, so I completly reinstalled my system (it’s now still 20H2) and I’m redownloading Forza from Microsoft Store. I think that when I installed forza for a first time, it didn’t work because I had a cracked forza on my PC (which weren’t even working cause of the same grey screen crash)and it haven’t completly uninstalled, so it started to crash. I will write as soon as it will download.

If you want that screen I can send it to you there and sorry for my grammar, I’m still learning English. Hope that everything is understandable!

чистил КЭШ, переустанавливал игру заново, но к сожалению ничего не помогло решить мою проблему, буду возвращать деньги потраченные, жаль время не вернёшь(

Касперский, отключал все программы и даже ничго не происходит после нажатия на кнопку играть, как некоторые рассказывали на заставке виснет или какой то спедометр появляется. жму играть, вроде готовится к загрузке, но проходит 3-5 сек и снова можно жать кнопку играть(

Игру блочит сторонняя програма, касперский на мусор, вообще не советую использовать сторонние антивируски на виндовс 10, это плохая затея, на хп и 7 да, там поддержки уже вроде как нет, но вот на десятке запускать игру которая намертво привязана к виндовсу с сторонним антивирусом это безполезно
