Garmin 72H Issue

I have tried to update my Garmin GPS 72. This software have erased original rom but failed to upload new. Windows version of this software uploaded new version from first try. So software does not work for me.

App doesn’t work on new OSX Mojave

I would prefer if Garmin gave the Application for updating their wearable devices a standard name across all platforms (Connect, Express and the WebUpdater being the three different programs currently) and having it available on The Mac App Store, Windows Store, App Store and Google Play Store etc.

no problem with upgrade

I couldn t upgrade my garmin because i run snow leopard on my imac..with this application i solved my problem in 5 min. just read the instruction b4 u upgrade.

Don’t risk it.

Worse than useless. Tried to update a Garmin 72H from version 2.7 to 2.8. Everything seemed to go OK until it said “Install Failed”. Repeated tries does the same thing. The GPS, only a few weeks old, now just says “Software Missing” when it is turned on.
Update: Managed to get it working again by installing software using a PC. It is now running version 2.4

Horrible UI Experience

Every Garmin app and GPS I’ve used has terrible UI. Nothing looks remotely modern or like the engineers (I doubt they use designers) know what they’re doing. A disappointing experience. The actual GPS itself is nice and rugged, it’s just the interface and the app that are appalling.

Won’t find my device

I downloaded this app store version thinking that it would find my 3790 Nuvi, but it won’t. I rebooted, I tried their communicator plug in, but none of that worked. The old app seems to see my device and download the updates, but they won’t install since it then says it can’t find the device. My Mac and Safari are fully up to date and I tried it with Chrome. No useful error messages either. I will have to find a PC to update the maps. The device won’t mount as a drive like their help pages say either. However, it charges fine from a variety of USB cables that I tried. Those cables work fine for other devices. My TomTom Software works much better for my other GPS unit.

Hints For Garmin
Put some error messages in there so at least people with a clue can do some more work finding out why it might not work.
Update you help pages beyond old versions of the OS and browsers.
The old updater apps used to work a few months ago.
Blame Apple, but, your debugging team should have figured things out and issues an update. I can’t be the only Mac user out here.

Great App!

This is a great app! I have been using it for years from Garmin’s website. It lets you update your Garmin GPS software and choose individual updates, including different voices for your device. For newer devices; such as, nüvi 3590LMT, it has been way easier to use this app to update GPS software than Garmin’s myDashboard page. I give it 5 stars for its ease-of-use and it does exactly what it says.

Could not get it to work

Version 2.1.3 would not work for me in OS X 10.8.3

It started to download 180 files. After each file, it reported a failure, and offered to retry. Pressing the retry button caused it to continue (and fail) on the next file. The problem may be that it simply won’t run from a restricted (not administrative) user account.

There is already a good review on this app, and iit will cost you nothing to try it out.

Doesn’t work on Mavericks. Waste of time.

Glad Garmin aviation products can be relied on.

Could not get it to see Nuvi 1350 until I removed micro SD card

Tried several things but the app would not see this older nuvi, it sees a newer version fine. The one thing I realized is that the newer nuvi did not have a micro SD card installed while my older nuvi did.

Removed the card, reloaded the app and bang sees the older nuvi so if you are having an issue with your device not being found and you have a card installed try removing it.
