Unable to scroll through playback timeline.

This is pretty important to me. When reviewing footage, I may need to skip ahead to the next recorded event however the skip forward button doesn’t do anything, and if you try to slide the timeline forward or back it just restarts the entire video from the beginning again. The only thing that works is fast forward and rewind, which is slow.

I came from using a Geovision camera and their GV-Eye mobile app. I had no idea how nice I had it. The app would open with a preset live camera view and by double clicking a single camera you could with one button pull up all motion capture events in a list with time stamps — this was so convenient to access and scroll through!

The one significant advantage iDMSS has is the ability to export video. That feature alone is really nice, it would be nice if you could disable the audio in the exported video if needed though.

It would be great if I could actually use any of the facial recognition/detection search capabilities through the app as well. that’s why I bought the cameras in the first place.

Horrible update! Favorites lost; data not transferred

I’ve been using the original “Lite” application for quite some time, and despite the unacceptable learning curve (due to poor documentation and deficient Chinese programming), managed to get it to work quite reasonably for many months.

This latest update is an absolute travesty. Not only did the upgrade result in all my favorites being lost, it keeps prompting me to update to the new “Plus” version, which I did. But none of the settings from the “Lite” version were transferred over! So now I have to suffer through setting up all that complicated nonsense again, using an application that is decidedly worse than the previous iteration.

Why can’t an American company create something on par with this Chinese garbage so we can at least understand how it works? An absolute shame that this Chinese app is all we have available for this purpose.

Password problem

After setting the password, it asks when I connect to the internet and sometimes it doesn’t ask when I don’t connect to the internet. When I enter the app with no internet at the first time, it asks the password. But after immediately removing the recent app and immediately open the app, it doesn’t ask and it only shows the Network error and then skip the asking password step. So, I enter the app with no internet and then reconnect to the internet when I reach inside the app. And if I do like this, the app doesn’t ask the password and I can watch live without typing password. I hope you can get what I meant and recommend you to fix that problem.

Frustrating to the Max

Have had my newly installed hard drive crash 6 days post install while I was over the other side of the country. Needed to get installed back ASAP which required family to drive hours to allow access! In playback it is only allowing me to view twice, then seems to discard the vision. The night time clarity to view a driver in car 2 mtr away from camera is very disappointing very fuzzy. I hate that the Time Wheel does not stay on the Hour & Min that you have set, in order to set the Start and Finish. I get a red button on date calendar when wanting to playback .. no idea why. I get Frozen Blue button when ffw or rewind ..
I spent a Lot of money on the recommendation of this product. So far I’m NOT impressed.

The WORST security camera app

We’ve just spent thousands of dollars on a security camera system through lockdown security in Mandurah that uses this app to view, record and store footage. It is literally the worst app I’ve ever used. Constantly crashes, constantly doesn’t work, takes hours upon hours to go through footage, 8x is SO SLOW, the play and fast forward button hardly ever work, we have extremely fast wifi that’s located in the same room as the processor and the cameras take over a 1-2 minutes to load through this app, so if anything ever happens basically forget it- I could literally go on and on. If I had’ve known this app would be how we use our cameras I would never have wasted my money on the cameras in the first place. Make sure you ask the security company what software they use prior getting anything installed and if they say anything about iDMSS I urge you not to waste your money and go with someone else. We will be unplugging everything and basically putting it in the bin such a waste of time and money!! Absolutely pathetic excuse for a security camera app.

IDMSS Lite features

IDMSS Lite is much more practical than the Plus for the following reasons:
1) Playback date on Plus is always showing yesterday’s date as a default rather than today’s date, so need to change date when reviewing or else one is always viewing yesterday’s rather than today’s record.
2) During IDMSS Lite Live View the useful feature of 30 sec rewind is absent in the Plus.
3) Playback fast speed of 8x on mobile is slower than IDMSS Lite and it takes 20mins to view an one hour record on Plus.
Wish we have a choice in continuing to use IDMSS Lite rather than the PLUS unless it can incorporate the missing features of the IDMSS Lite

IOS 11.4 crashing

When I will export video, it is always crashing. Can not export video anymore on IOS 11.4

I hate this product

If you want to waste your money just buy Dahua cctv after you install then you will see it is very low quality and the app for iPhone is another treble when you install the app and putting all details it’s just working for one time. As soon as you close the app and open it again won’t be work anymore you have to delete the and download it, install it, putting the details again the you’ll be able to review your cctv just one time don’t forget to not use your mobile for any other propose such as calling, Internet browsing if so have to repeatedly delete, download and installing its app again. I never waste my money like this hateful product.

Needs improvement

The app kept on affecting my phone’s network connectivity. Whenever the app’s bug occur, I lose my network connection and I can’t access internet through any app. The bug usually occur when I switch video quality from SD to HD and vice versa. Bug also occurs even though I haven’t opened the app after a restart. Please fix this. I’m using IOS version 13.3.

Upgrade from iDMSS with two bugs

Opening a motion detection push notification finally seeks to the right spot! This was a bug in iDMSS for me. Now two minor bugs: it skips to the right point, but after playing a few seconds says “connection failed” or “out of memory”. If I hit the refresh button it plays fine without the error but sometimes throws the “out of memory” error.

The other issue is that I turned motion detection on for one camera but I am receiving it for all other channels on that NVR now.

You can be better

Please add a feature that allows your cameras to be open and stay open to how you want them. Instead on me going to different screens to load them. Or having to click on the number of cameras to show. I want to see all NINE cameras when I open my app. The first thing it should open to is my cameras. I should have that option. Also, your notifications system needs to be better. Being able to change the name on the notifications that pop up. Instead of it saying channel 5 I should be able to change it to front door. Not on the camera, but the notifications that you get when the motion go off. That should be able to be changed via the app.

Getting better

After the latest update many problems fixed, still few minor problems; slow in reloading cams over mobile data, fails when load a playback. I recommend to have an app on Apple TV device to use it through a remote control.
