Как известно, для считывания и распознавания QR-кода необходимо специальное мобильное приложение — QR-ридер (или сканер), желательно получше и посовременнее. К примеру, известный QR Code Reader умеет читать и расшифровывать не только обычные QR, но и их уменьшенные и видоизмененные вариации, которые часто встретить можно на страницах различных сайтов, и которые очень часто плохо распознаются другими QR-сканерами.

Кроме того, QR Code Reader, как отмечается в описании программки, «оптимизирован для смартфонов Lumia», и, как пишут в отзывах, сканит и распознает коды так шустро, что создается впечатление, будто бы программа работает в режиме реального времени. Еще один плюс данного программного продукта состоит в том, что в Windows Store скачать его можно бесплатно.

QR и Кортана

Если у вас имеется возможность пользоваться Кортаной на своем Windows-смартфоне, то можно попробовать специальное приложение, которое называется QR for Cortana. У продвинутого заграничного юзера данная прога становится все более популярной по мере того, как голосовой помощник Кортана заменяет штатный браузер Bing в качестве основного мобильного поисковика.

По функционалу QR for Cortana похожа на «старое» Bing Vision. Более того, в новом приложении опция распознавания кодов так и называется — Bing Vision. Включается следующим образом: открываем приложение камеры, далее — меню «Линзы» и в нем тапаем Bing Vision.

Bing

В более ранних версиях Windows Phone 8, а также в тех, где Кортана еще не доступна, все гораздо проще, поскольку в них предусмотрен «родной» встроенный инструмент для сканирования QR-кодов. Работает данная система следующим образом: запускаем поиск (кнопочка с увеличительным стеклом внизу экрана), открываеся браузер Bing, тапаем иконку с глазом и запускаем процесс сканирования QR-кода.

Справедливости ради стоит отметить, что сканер в Bing работает не так быстро, как упомянутый нами QR Code Reader, и не так качественно, но если не надо расшифоровывать кодов много и часто, то Bing вполне сгодится.

Как создать свой QR-код в Windows Phone

Разумеется, для этого тоже надо соответствующее приложение, вроде QR Code Generator, которое тоже найти можно в Microsoft Store.

If you’re running an older version of Windows Phone 8, or if you’re a die-hard fan that still prefers Bing over Cortana — you’re in luck — because it means you can use Bing’s built-in QR code scan tool.

Start search with the magnifying glass button at the bottom of your phone.

The Bing app opens, tap the «eye-con» to start QR Code scanning.

Bing’s scanner isn’t as fast as QR Code Reader — or as good — but for most use cases it’s sufficient enough to do the job.

Generating QR codes

But you can also use another, tricky technique to generate QR codes. First, open Windows Phone’s Internet Explorer app and set it to desktop mode. Browse to Bing.com and search for «QR code generator» — Bing places its built-in QR code generator near the top of the search result list — a tool that’s available only for «desktop» browsers.

Type your text or URL into the field followed by enter. The generator then refreshes the default image, replacing it with your new QR code.

Finally, tap and hold your new QR code — save it as a picture or send it to others via Windows Phone’s sharing feature.

Phone Companion — PC generates QR code I cannot read on my phone

I am trying to set this app up from Austria however if I download the app on both devices,

the PC app generates a QR code I should scan in the phone app which seems not possible. On the other hand;

the phone app seems to pair with the PC but never stops doing so. Are there different versions in different countries or why are they seemingly incompatible?

2) Try resetting the App in Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > Your Phone > Advanced Options > Repair and then Reset. Restart PC.

3) Next try re-registering the app from Option 2 here: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3175-apps-re.

One of these should normally fix it.

5) You can try uninstalling Your Phone in App Settings, restart PC, reinstall from MS Store Hub (three dots at top right of Store app) > My Library.

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files, and also Step 16 to test a new Local Admin account. Then continue with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.

7) Update your drivers and BIOS/UEFI firmware from PC or motherboard maker’s Support Downloads web page, using the full model number, Serial Number or Dell Service Tag on sticker. Compare the latest drivers available for download with the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start Menu. Make sure you have the latest BIOS or UEFI firmware, Chipset, Display (Video), Sound, USB3, Bluetooth, Network and all other drivers, or else download and install the latest now.

Updating drivers from the Device Manager or Windows Update is rarely enough. The most basic thing we need to learn to maintain a PC is keep the latest manufacturer’s drivers installed from their Support Downloads web page.

8) If this was caused by Windows Update(s) then you can check which were installed at Settings>Update & Security>Windows Update under Update History, then uninstall them from the link there, and immediately check for these again and hide with the Hide Updates tool explained here: https://www.howtogeek.com/223864/how-to-uninsta.

You can also use System Restore to get before the problem began, then check for Updates with the Hide Update tool and hide them: http://home.bt.com/tech-gadgets/computing/how-t.

9) If nothing else works then do a Repair Install, by installing Media Creation Tool and then choosing to Upgrade Now. This reinstalls Windows while keeping files, programs and most settings in place, and is also the most stable method to advance to the latest version 1909. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m.
