Find your Windows product key

A Windows product key is a 25-character code used to activate Windows. It looks like this:

PRODUCT KEY: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

Locate your product key for Windows 10

Depending on how you got your copy of Windows 10, you’ll need either a 25-character product key or a digital license to activate it. A digital license (called a digital entitlement in Windows 10, Version 1511) is a method of activation in Windows 10 that doesn’t require you to enter a product key. Without one of these, you won’t be able to activate your device.

Where to find your product key depends on how you got your copy of Windows.

The product key is preinstalled on your PC, included with the packaging the PC came in, or included on the Certificate of Authenticity (COA) attached to the PC. The product key is on a label or card inside the box that Windows came in. For more info, contact the retailer that sold you Windows 10. How to tell your software is genuine.

Find your product key in the confirmation email you received after buying Windows 10 or in a digital locker accessible through the retailer’s website.

The product key is in the confirmation email you received after buying your digital copy of Windows. Microsoft only keeps a record of product keys if you purchased from the Microsoft online store. You can find out if you purchased from Microsoft in your Microsoft account Order history.

If you upgraded to Windows 10 for free from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, you should have a digital license instead of a product key.

If you bought Windows 10 Home, Professional, or Upgrade to Pro in the Windows 10 Store app, you’ll receive a digital license instead of a product key. You can use the digital license for activation.

If your product key is scratched, blurred, or otherwise unusable, contact the retailer who sold you the product. If you aren’t able to get help from your retailer or have already tried and couldn’t get a working key, call Microsoft Support.

Locate your product key for Windows 7 or Windows 8.1

A product key is usually required when uninstalling or reinstalling Windows 7 or Windows 8.1. Generally, if you bought a physical copy of Windows, the product key should be on a label or card inside the box that Windows came in. If Windows came preinstalled on your PC, the product key should appear on a sticker on your device. If you’ve lost or can’t find the product key, contact the manufacturer. Get windows installation id

Ключи с сети в большинстве скидывают Volume «VL» Мак то есть для многократной активации (компаний и тд) из за этого бывает такое что робот не распознает ID в этих случаях:

Если у вас удалось получить ID активации, записывайте все цифры и сам ключ, для подальшей активации данного продукта в случае переустановки.

Если вы звоните по номеру для активации по телефону и вводите данные установки то есть номер ID, и робот в конце говорит что не смог распознать ваш ID установки и направляет ваш звонок на оператора.

У вас есть 2 способа.

Подождать и поговорить с оператором:

— Скажите оператору что хотите активировать.
— Скажите что переустановили Office или переустановили вслед за Windows, после некоторых сбоев в системе и настраиваете комп.
— Если оператор спросит вас представитель ли вы организации? скажите ДА
— Если спросит, что передадите всю необходимую информацию вашему системному администратору?скажите ДА

Если будут еще какие то вопросы придумайте какой то ответ, если не хотите отвечать просто сбросьте вызов и позже наберите еще раз, возможно будет уже другой оператор который не задаст уже такие вопросы.

Что бы зайти в чат нужно:

Дальше если вас перенаправит на агента напишите какой продукт хотите активировать так же укажите что никак не можете дозвониться по номерах указанных при установке и вам нужна помощь и напишите в конце ID установки.

В случае если оператор задаст какие то еще вопросы отвечайте на них что то придумайте, или зайдите позже, когда будет возможно уже будет другой оператор.

after I took a look at the slmgr script, I found we can obtain the information with the following command:

Actually, in FusionInventory::Agent::Task::Inventory::Win32::License module, we are still looking to SoftwareLicensingProduct WMI objects. By the way, we are not looking at «OfflineInstallationId» and even we are just skipping the object looking like «Operating System» in its Description field.

So actually, the agent doesn’t get this information. But this would be easy to add such information.

Can you explain us your purpose ? Why would you need this information and where would you like to see it in GLPI ?

I use MAK keys to activate Windows. I manage those keys with VAMT 3.1 (a Microsoft tool) to avoid losing activation on re-install.

I don’t know if you worked with MAK keys. These are keys that have many activations but you lose one activation each time you use it, even if you activate the same computer.
So to avoid this, the VAMT tool actually stores the Installation ID and the Activation ID received from Microsoft. So the next time I have to reinstall the same computer, VAMT just applies the Activation ID and so activates the computer offline.

The problem is that VAMT is slow and it drives me crazy. So I would prefer to use it only for the first activation on a new computer, save the ActivationID and use my own script for any subsequent activations. I am going to create a database with InstallationID — ActivationID pairs and use a script to search for the IID and activate using the AID.

And that is where Fusioninventory could be very useful: helping me collect the Installation IDs.

Get Offline Installation ID (Windows 8 or similar)

Is it possible to get the Windows Offline Installation ID ( OfflineInstallationId was found in slmgr.vbs)?

This can be achieved on the command-line with:

This returns the Installation ID without spaces or dashes, is it possible to retrieve this in C#? I want to eventually have each block of the ID (there are 9 blocks, 7 numbers in each block) in their own textboxes on a form.

I looked around, but couldn’t find any examples for C#.

This is possible by querying the WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation)’s Win32_WindowsProductActivation (XP and below) or SoftwareLicensingProduct (Vista or higher) class:

Requires these namespaces to be declared:

• System
• System.Collections.Generic

I noticed that because I used Windows 8.1’s ‘refresh’ feature once, my WMI returned two Offline Installation IDs for me, therefore this should be something you need to consider (the first Offline Installation ID is the valid one):

As mentioned earlier, SoftwareLicensingProduct with OfflineInstallationId only works on Windows versions newer than Vista (e.g, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, and 10), therefore if you (or the users of your program) wish to use it on XP or earlier, you may be able to use the following, but however as I do not have access to XP I am unable to test this:

Узнаем ID адрес в Windows 10

Существует три способа:

1. Диспетчер устройств;
2. Специализированный софт;
3. С помощью Командной строки.

Рассмотрим их подробнее.

Смотрим в Диспетчере

На Виндовс (Windows) 10 нажмите «Win+X», выберите:
Найдите карту, далее:
Посмотрите значение:

Если адреса нет, примените второй или третий способ.

Как посмотреть ID используя Командную строку

Нажмите «Win+X» выберите:
Пропишите команду:
Откроется список всех адаптеров. Отобразятся и виртуальные. Найдите адаптер, через который происходит подключение к интернет. Найдите строку «Физический адрес» посмотрите ID.

Если в ОС установлен VPN, в списке отобразится несколько разделов адаптер.

Специализированный софт

Установите приложение AIDA64, позволяющее узнать характеристики ПК. Подробнее смотрите в статье: «Как узнать сокет CPU». Откройте приложение, перейдите:

Отметьте физический «реальный» адаптер.

Как поменять

Если провайдер надает настройки, связанные с ID, при его изменении возможен сбой. Сообщите ему про изменения. Рассмотрим два рабочих способа.

Сетевая карта

При ее замене ID поменяется. Это относится к устройствам, выполняющих функции адаптера.

Настройки ОС

Найдите в Диспетчере сетевую карту. Как было рассмотрено в первом способе. Перейдите:
Пропишите новую комбинацию. Используйте правило. Вместо второго символа укажите: 2, 6, А, Е. Другие значения — любые цифры и латинские буквы от А до F. Например: 2A34F8632В21. Прописывайте МАС адрес без пробелов.
