Graveyard Keeper – увлекательный симулятор, представляющий жанр РПГ, где тебе предстоит взять на себя исполнение довольно необычной роли – роли хранителя огромного кладбища. Ты попадаешь в далёкое средневековье, а значит и столкнешься с теми правилами и законами, которые иногда будут обладать жестокостью. Здесь от твоих решений и предпринятых действий, напрямую будет зависеть исход дальнейших событий, поэтому будь внимательным, а также старайся не допускать ошибок, которые понесут за собой печальные последствия. Здесь ты будешь сталкиваться со сложными вопросами морали, где также нудно действовать в правильном направлении, дабы не нажить себе неприятности. Более того, в твою деятельность будет также входить уход за территорией кладбища, а также его расширение. К тебе будут приходить самые разные посетители, многие из них будут довольно сомнительными, но ты должен правильно составить список ними договора, чтобы затем не быть обманутым. Главная цель – усовершенствовать свое кладбища, дополнять постройками, а также всячески расширять территорию. Задача точно не из лёгких, но ты со всем справишься, если будешь действовать правильно и безошибочно.

Ролевая игра от третьего лица — Graveyard Keeper — представляет море возможностей для крафта. В качестве главного героя — человек, владеющий своим кладбищем. Его цель — правильно хоронить людей и делать на этом деньги, поэтому игру можно назвать экономическим симулятором. Несмотря на то, что смерть в проекте — простое дело, на котором строится бизнес, разработчики не забыли добавить сюда историю любви и сильный сюжет, над которым можно поплакать.

Мир вокруг персонажа — это не только деревня при кладбище, но и старые леса, древние хижины, в которых живут старые маги. Нам предстоит исследовать всё вокруг, развивать кладбище из постоянного ресурса, а со временем наш персонаж захочет открыть небольшую забегаловку. Здесь перед нами встает этический и биологический вопрос: зачем покупать мясо для отбивных, если нам каждый день приносит до 80 кг ещё не испорченного мяса?

Поскольку игра всё-таки про крафт, то мы будем постоянно что-то делать. Персонаж так и просит, чтобы мы заняли его чем-то, поэтому помимо исследований надо прокачивать уровень «мастерства» в плане изготовления. В игре присутствует ролевая система квестов. Например, местному мяснику понадобилось пара килограмм печенки. Неужели вы не вырежете её с трупов под предлогом того, что она животного происхождения (ведь так оно и есть!)? В вашей забегаловке кончается уникальная еда и люди больше не хотят проводить у вас время? Тогда прыгайте в подземелье и доставайте уникальные алхимические предметы. Будьте аккуратны с экспериментами!

I can understand why the devs don’t have a Linux/Mac build out in Alpha. Pushing out a daily(-ish) update across all three platforms creates more work than absolutely needed. I’ve got it running decently in WINE with no real tweaking. Mac is another story, but should be similar.

You can download Windows 10 in a evaluation copy to run in a hypervisor of your choice here:

If the Devs were able to provide the updated client without the installer, just the Data folder and .exe for the game, that would eliminate the need for a Windows machine or VM.

@Procyon — I’ve had a similar experience to yours, unfortunately. I’m more forgiving though and will not be asking for a refund.

Also, you don’t have to install Windows at all to run WINE. WINE is a completely separate from Windows. It’s basically a third-party FOSS implementation of the Windows API on top of the Linux kernel.

The license for that only legally allows you to test it. Doing anything else even if your not making money is not allowed.

Were you able to get the installer running in WINE? I wasn’t able to get past «extracting files», and the installer just hung forever.

It is a fully functional Windows OS, valid for 90 days. Business or personal. Microsoft even said that in a VM, they encourage businesses needing more time to evaulate to create a snapshot and roll back after the 90 days. Chill out, the cyber police aren’t going to knock down your door. I’m just offering options for you to test the game as it is, an alpha.

Well my reasoning is if I just wanted to pre-order it I would have payed the $20 price tag not the $25 one for the alpha. Money is pretty tight for allot of people these days and I spent the money for entertainment now, not in 1-5 years when they decide to port to Linux if they ever decide to. Was looking forward to trying out a new game during the one weekend I have off from work this month but now cant afford to do anything.

Perfectly sound reasoning. I don’t think (and didn’t think) you’re unreasonable for asking for a refund at all. I am a single guy who’s never owned a car and has no debt who makes a very upper middle class salary. For me, being forgiving about this costs me almost nothing except the time I’m wasting on these forum posts. 🙂

The whole point here is to get the game up and running on a Linux platform since the dev team is telling that it is supported.
It seems like we’re all impatient (maybe a bit to much) to play with this little gem.
No offense, but nobody cares of how forgiving you are or how you deal with your wallet.

Anyway, if the dev team is reading this : Please, be kind to build the game for Linux (who cares about daily builds, just one build would be much more than expected at that point), because tweaking with WINE just isn’t a thing anyone can (or would like to) do.

About the discussion a bit earlier in the topic. There’s no need to point out all these obvious things. I’m quite sure most people who run Linux on their desktop are perfectly aware of Windows and the various products Microsoft offers for consumers.

As a Linux gamer I’m interested in this game, and this discussion answered the question that the website really didn’t: It’s advertised as a Linux game but the demo doesn’t run on Linux.

As far as daily multiplatform builds being problematic goes, I think of it like going to the dentist. If you do it regularly it becomes routine, but if you push it back to the absolute last moment possible it tends to be a really painful experience.
