[Mac OS X] Настраиваем гитару с помощью GuitarTuner

Есть такой тип программ, о которых особо и писать то нечего. Достаточно лишь знать, что такая программа есть, и желательно прямая ссылка на скачивание. Эта программа как раз из их числа. У нее лишь одно окно, глядя на которое не возникает никаких вопросов. Со своей задачей она справляется блестяще. Это конечно не профессиональный инструмент для настройки, но для любителей то что надо. Конечно можно воспользоваться встроенным тюнером в Garage Band, но во-первых он не у всех стоит, а во-вторых это примерно как запускать Pages, что бы записать телефон.

A strobe tuner is «the most accurate type of tuner» according to Wikipedia. The HotPaw Guitar Tuner provides 6 precision Strobe Tuners for your guitar. Fast. Accurate. Noise resistant. See your notes also appear on a keyboard image and a musical grand staff also, as a great music learning aid. Uses the built-in mic on your Mac, or an external microphone.

With 6 simultaneous strobe tuners, you don’t need to wait for your room or recording studio to become quiet enough. You don’t need to wait for a tuner to lock onto each note. You don’t need to wait for a needle to finish moving. If you’re really good, you don’t even need to tune one guitar string at a time. With multiple strobe tuners, you can see if one string shifts in frequency while tuning another. You can also see if plucking a string hard on your guitar causes the notes to «bend».

Just watch the waterfall waveforms overlaid on each string. When the waves for a particular guitar string synchronize or line up vertically and stop leaning and shifting left (flat) or right (sharp), you are precisely in tune with an internal equally-tempered digital oscillator.

8 alternate tunings (Standard EADGBE, Drop D, DADGAD, etc.) are supported.

All Over the Map (not for wind instruments)

I was hoping to have something on my screen that would work well for a wind instrument. This app, however, is all over the place. When I say this, I mean that I compared it to a Korg CA Chromatic Tuner. The Korg has a display just like this one, but is smooth and accurately IDs the pitch and fixes on the predominant overtone, which is probably where this one is lacking. The needle was just waving around all over the place, compared to the Korg. There are some times that I’d rather have a tuner on my screen (always on top) than on my music stand or elsewhere, but this was just not working for me. I have a whole new appreciation for my free phone app and my $15 tuner!

Doesn’t Work Well at All

It jumps too fast from pitch to pitch to be useable. It seems the programming needs to add a pitch average instead of detecting and reporting every pitch it detects every millisecond. It is probably giving true results, but so fast it is unusable. Perhaps programming a pitch report ginving an average pitch within a range of 0.5, 1, or 2 seconds would vastly improve this app.

Simple and Works

No idea how this could average 3 stars even if it cost a buck or two, and especially since it’s free. Only basic thing I can think of adding would be to enable hiding, to leave running and accessible without being distracting. But it’s not a floating window so it disappears behind other selected apps, easy fix. I dig it.

The developer, Aleksandar Mlazev , has not provided details about its privacy practices and handling of data to Apple.

Simple guitar tuner to tune up your guitar. This is for a standard 6-string guitar, in EADGBe guitar tuning.

Tuning your guitar can be a difficult task for you if you are just beginning guitar. The good news is, the more you do it, the easier it becomes. A nicely tuned guitar can make your music sound a lot better and help you greatly while you’re are just getting the hang of finger placement for notes.

Touch the note for the string you want to tune and then turn the tuning pegs on your guitar and match it up with the note that is being played.

Tip: Make several passes tuning each of the strings. For example you might have noticed that if you have tuned all the strings once, and then back to the first one you tuned, it might be off a little bit. This is because you are increasing or decreasing the tension on each of the strings as you tune it and the instrument’s body might bend ever so slightly due to this difference in tension. This causes the other strings to slightly change in pitch. So make sure you keep on checking and tuning the strings until all are in tune, so make several passes.
