Hidden Folks была разработана голландским инди-дизайнером видеоигр Adriaan de Jongh и голландским художником Sylvain Tegroeg. Идея создания игры со скрытыми объектами возникла из детального творчества Тегрёга. Все игровое пространство было нарисовано от руки на бумаге, отсканировано, а затем наслоено вручную для формирования сцен.

Игра отлично тренирует внимательность, да и в целом процесс напрягает мозг. Графику можно сменить на режим «сепии» или «ночь» (похоже на негатив). Игра немонотонна, богата разнообразием – звуков крайне много, немало и различных взаимодействий.

Описание поиска каждого предмета уникально и некоторые из них шуточные, за что пользователи и хвалят Hidden Folks. Найти абсолютно всё очень сложно, но это неплохой вариант бросить себе вызов. There’s a shaman hiding in a secret passage, a monkey napping somewhere in the trees, and a tiny reptile laughing near some butterflies. How are we supposed to find them all?! We like being thorough in our searches, but we’ll admit we occasionally just tap all over the place. However you decide to play, the adorable visuals will keep you charmed.

Refreshing take on hidden object puzzles!

This is definitely challenging but still so enjoyable to play!

Love the added element of interactivity to open doors, dig in snow piles, pressing buttons and shifting objects in order to unearth & find the object you are looking for. I enjoy just opening & tapping on things just to discover what all can be manipulated.

The clues, scenes & sounds are so creative, clever & humorous.

One thing I feel that would totally sky rocket this game to the another level and that I would absolutely LOVE to see would be the ability for players to create their own custom list of hidden objects (with customized clues) to find and then challenge other players to find them. The custom challenges could be made by forwarding to friends or by being accessed by anyone on a server. Those custom challenges could even be rated by other players. Filters & ability for players to flag could be used to ensure inappropriate language is not used in the clues. I think this would vastly increase the exposure, playability & revenue for this game. Revenue could be a 1 time fee to unlock the feature, or monetize by playing an ad in order to be able to play a new custom challenge.

There is just so much interesting objects & folks to look at & explore and I often find myself thinking “that object should so be on the list”

It may very well be the perfect game!
The genius and straight-up craftsmanship in the detail and originality of the art, the wonderfully wandering exploration of every odd yet familiar landscape and each one cleverly layered with quirk and humor, meeting all of the equally strange and lovable creatures that inhabit these worlds, the simple secreted treats and overall wabi sabi that make it brilliantly engaging and enjoyable for those of us who relish such things. which I absolutely do. Above all, it’s undeniably one-of-a-kind and that is increasingly rare in these crazy (yet somehow still dull) days. I can only imagine the volume of blood, sweat and tears that went into the entire Hidden Folks process. I’m sure it was a profound labor of love for everyone involved, as well as an exercise in sheer force of will, but I am personally SO grateful to the creators for blessing us with this gem of a game. Thank you all!
I look forward to seeing what other weirdness you folks get into.

Best Hidden objects game ever, the creativity amazes me everytime I open the app. I Recommended this to everyone i know who likes playing mobile games. Absolutely love it

Gets boring very fast

Download only if you enjoy hidden object games.

Update as on Feb 2020: The time I wrote my review was probably in 2018 as I had purchased the game in Oct 2017 and it wasn’t very clear in the description back then that it was just a hidden objects game. I was expecting hidden objects plus puzzles and other stuff. As a developer, it might be better if you respond to a review on time, not 2 years later!

Finally a game that keeps my interest!

I love puzzles and hidden object games but have been bored playing the same type over and over. I wasn’t sure what I was getting when I bought this as I didn’t read through everything, but the artwork looked really interesting.

As soon as I started playing I realised how much I loved it! It’s a brilliant challenge to find everything, meaning it’s difficult at times but so rewarding when you’ve found the object. The clues are clever and often after I’ve found that one item that’s taken me forever, I’ve realised how easy it could have been if I’d interpreted the clues properly. Some of the clues and people you have to find are pretty hilarious at times. I also love the bits where you have to move things, press buttons, lift levers to actually get what you were looking for, brain training in a way!

You can see how much effort was put into making the game and I appreciated every single scene.

I bought it yesterday and have finished it today after paying for the extra scene. It may sound like it doesn’t last you very long but it was actually several hours per day of playing, that’s how addictive it was. Plus my sister started it after I did and I didn’t want to let her overtake me!

Well worth the price and I have straight away signed up to the update email so I can be notified if there are any further developments.

Perfect Game

I’ve been playing this game for a while now and in short, I’ve loved every second. Hidden Folks has some similarities with Where’s Wally, but with so many improvements.
Firstly, the picture is alive. All of the animals, people, and whatever else there is moves. This makes the whole thing much more interesting and immersive. Secondly, you can interact with the picture. You can tap a bush, and the leaves will part, sometimes to reveal something. If you tap a crocodile, it snaps. You can tap virtually anything and it will move, fly away, disappear, or something else.
Then there is the sound, which just adds the final layer of brilliance.
The only downgrade from Where’s Wally is that there is no colour but I personally don’t mind this at all. If anything, it makes it better.
To add to all of this, it’s a game that I see myself playing in a year’s time. Unlike lots of other games, this will never make you bored as there are practically endless locations and objects for you to find.
In all, Hidden Folks is a brilliant game which, when combined with the fact that the pictures are hand-drawn, is an amazing feat by the developers.
A game that is absolutely worth the money, so do yourself a favour and buy this game right now.

Seriously — pay these guys for their work

This game is so fun. I usually like point and click adventure games with puzzles — I found this as I was looking for ideas for games for anxiety and stress — something not difficult but challenging enough to distract my mind for a bit.
I loved it so much and will leave it for a while and probably play again. You can just tell the amount of time that has gone into the artwork, format, sounds, coding on all the different objects that react when you touch them. It’s a work of art.
I don’t get people expecting quality games for free — you don’t work for free so why should developers… if you don’t want to pay, don’t pay — go find something of lesser quality with tonnes of ads. Don’t leave bad reviews based on that only.
