How to Install Drivers

Open Device Manager

In Windows XP, click Start -> Control Panel -> Performance and Maintenance -> System -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager button

Install Drivers With Device Manager

Locate the device and model that is having the issue and double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

Select the Driver tab.

Click the Update Driver button and follow the instructions.

In most cases, you will need to reboot your computer in order for the driver update to take effect.

I still have to correct the installation of TF patches .. 4.3 will not install . so back to 4.0 and try again.

Does anyone have any experience with TM HOTAS Cougar installation in Windows 10 or 8.1? I might be forced to go back
to 8.1 to try to get them to work. also. tomorrow I am going to use the Win XP sys to flash the firmware, run HOTAS by TM,
Run Foxy and than TARGETE . on that sys to make certain it all works and it is infact Windows 10 as the problem.

I am looking for Hall Sensors for the TM Cougar stick.. Cubpilot used to offer them. anyone know where we
can pick them up . forums stated the model was GP-2H/QP-cHC. anyone know the distributor or
manufacturer?

Well I hope to have Clod up and running accurately be tomorrow and HOTAS installed in Win 10 system by Friday .

I’ve been using my Cougar HOTAS since Win-ME ( ) right through XP,, 8, 8.1, and now Win-10 with no issues provided I first install the old 64bit driver downloaded from Thrustmaster (so in the device manager the «in» and «out» drivers can be seen), then use the Target Software to shape the different axis responses. I use Cliff’s in-game assignments, and have no real issues (there was an odd firing of the cannon for no perceptible reason, but that stopped with 10). not sure if that helps, so good luck, and don’t give up. I did not reinvent the wheel to get the stick working. Also, in Win10, just as in 8, in the control panel\hardware and sound\devices-and-printers you should see see an icon labeled Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar. Right click that icon, and select «game controller settings» then you’ll see a box called «game controllers». You should see your Cougar there, under «controller» and it’s status. Mine shows the Cougar and it’s status as ok. I can then click properties to check the various hats buttons and switches, and even calibrate the HOTAS if I need to. If you don’t see it there, back out, right-click the icon again, then select properties\hardware. You should see: Thrustmaster Cougar (in), and Thrustmaster Cougar (out), just as I’ve typed it here. Those are the drivers. If they are installed. If they aren’t installed you may see a yellow exclamation mark, iirc. That’s about all I can tell you.
