I appreciate your patience and your time,
I had to take some time off and research on this situation,
And evidently, you need to use the CD you received along with the mouse during its purchase,
For details, click here
(under the installation process: Insert the supplied HP Mouse Control Center CD in your CD or DVD drive. The Installation Wizard loads).
That’s the only way to obtain the software as it’s not available for download since it’s obsolete now.
Alternatively, you can use the windows mouse settings to make the necessary changes.

X-Mouse Button Control — удобное приложение, которое позволяет пользователю переназначить кнопки мыши по своему усмотрению, что несомненно будет очень полезно владельцам многокнопочных манипуляторов.
Благодаря данной утилите можно быстро задать функции кнопок мыши, как например Вырезать/Копировать/Вставить, Сделать двойной клик, Закрыть активное окно, Заблокировать ПК, Сделать скриншот экрана, Открыть панель управления и т.д. Назначенные команды можно сохранить в отдельные профили, чтобы быстро переключаться между ними при необходимости.

Сама прога хорошая и дело не в ней, а в мышке. К сожалению во всех мышах средняя кнопка (что на прокрутке), конструктивно очень слабенькая, она конструктивно отличается от левой и правой кнопки мыши, поэтому «вешать» на среднюю кнопку двойной клик занятие бесперспективное.

Надо следить какую раскладку клавиатуры включаете, на русской раскладке не работают сочетания кнопок английских.

хз как запустить. в конце установки ставишь галочку запустить и выкидывает на какойто сайт для доната. в папке тоже exe-шника нет, только куча непонятных файлов. КАК РАБОТАЕТ ТО.

Welcome to the HP Forums, this is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you are getting connectivity issues with the wireless mouse. I would like to help you resolve this issue.
To assist you with accurate information I would require more information regarding this.
- Did you replace the batteries in the mouse?
- When was the last time it was working fine?
- Did you try this wireless mouse on another computer?
- Are you using this mouse on an HP computer, if yes(Notebook or desktop)
Update the BIOS
Updating the BIOS, also known as «flashing the BIOS,» replaces the BIOS firmware. When completed successfully, a BIOS update can fix or enhance aspects of a computer’s performance, or provide support for newly installed hardware.

Re-sync the mouse connection
Re-synchronizing the mouse causes the devices to reconnect to the receiver using new identification numbers.
- You must complete the following connection sequence within 60 seconds. If you do not complete the sequence in 60 seconds, start over.
- Disconnect the wireless receiver from the USB slot.
- Wait 10 seconds and push the receiver back into place, making sure to push it in as far as it will go. If the receiver has an LED indicator, the activity light on the receiver comes on and then goes off within five seconds.
- If the issues remain after reseating the wireless receiver, try another USB port. If the wireless receiver is connected to the back of your desktop computer, try a USB port on the front of the computer if it has one.
- If problems continue, move the mouse and receiver to another computer. If the mouse does not work on that computer, one of the items in the hardware set (mouse and receiver) might be defective or might not be transmitting a signal that matches the other devices. The devices might need to be replaced.
Update the driver
Click here and refer the HP document to update the driver with recovery manager.

can’t find Mouse Control Center for Z6000

I just bought a Z6000 bluetooth mouse and by following instructions I managed to install it on my Lenovo W530 laptop. However, the installation and use instructions mention a «Mouse Control Center», which I cannot find on my computer. How can I access it? I am using 64-bit Windows 7 Professional.

Thanks for the response. I followed your advice, but the result is the same: no trace of (or shortcut for) Mouse Control Center. Usually, every installation leaves a shortcut for the corresponding program, but I can’t find one in my case. In my case I found the program «C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP Bluetooth Mouse Z6000\Hp Bluetooth Mouse Z6000.exe»; however, when I run it, nothing happens.

I just bought this mouse and I am in the same situation. the mouse work well with or without this exe but I was hoping there were option to customize, so I searched for Mouse Control Center, intalled it and nothing happens. Is there any news?

I bought the z6000 mouse today, and let’s just say, i’m regretting it!
I’m having the same problem! I click the download, it takes me through a set-up but then nothing eventuates after that.
I’m really hoping someone can help us all out!

My PC (an HP Split) tells me that the software HP provides is incompatible with Windows 8.1. This is the very worst thing a company could do to themselves: create a crummy driver, and create software that is incompatible with Windows 8, and they lie on the box saying that it is. And not responding to anyone posting a plea for help means that they are both deliberately treating us this way and could not care less for their customers.
I absolute DARE anyone at HP to care and SAY SO HERE. And if you do care, how about fixing the problem or removing the item from shelves? You wasted over an hour of my precious time.
In the meantime, I will be returning it to the retailer and I will tell them that it doesn’t work at all so that it comes back to HP. I can lie too.
