Mail app on Windows 10 — Multiple email account one inbox, change display and import old messages

I have just upgraded from Windows 7 and started to setup my email accounts in the mail app, but have some questions

1. I have multiple email accounts, is there away to show all account mail in the one inbox, like Windows Live Mail 2012?

2. Is there away to change the display?

3. Is there away to import old messages from Windows Live Mail 2012?

If I understood you correctly you want the Windows live mail email in Mail app.

You can use Mail app to configure your email on your system. You can certainly get the email of your server in Mail app.

1. This functionality is not currently available.

2. I am not sure what you mean by this. You can change the image that is displayed in the background (Settings -> Background Picture). There is not currently an option for setting a theme or changing the colors for different parts of the Mail app.

3. The Mail app does not allow for offline storage of email that is not present on the server. If you want store old message from Windows Live Mail you could import them to an Outlook.com or other email client and then add that account to the Mail app.

Why not? Spent hours trying to do it, because it can be done on Live Mail (which fortunately can be retained on Win 10). Frustratingly, it seemed to be possible through Outlook.com, but after the changes have been made, aren’t reflected in the Mail app. Links to support pages indicate it can be done until you realise they are for Win. 8 or 8.1. Surely it’s not unreasonable to want to view all incoming messages in ONE Inbox, and to be able to send from the Mail app. with a choice of which account to send from? Why make it more complicated? Wasted a great deal of time, only to have to go back to Windows Live Mail.

Not one Microsoft mail program has had a unified inbox (that I’m aware of, free or Outlook), they just seem averse to the feature for whatever reason. I’ve been waiting for the feature and was seriously hopeful they implemented it in Windows 10.

Thunderbird seems to have the feature but don’t love the interface.

Come on MS, can’t be hard to implement!

Come on MS, can’t be hard to implement!

Outlook for iOS does have an unified Inbox, and it’s just great. I actually made me drop the default Mail app.

Why don’t you use just as is? Even the Desktop Outlook app is way more complicated (no unified calendars?!)

В случае если Вы используете POP3 протокол:

POP3 (incoming mail server): mail.inbox.lv

• Шифрование: обязательно должен быть включен SSL
• Порт POP3: 995

SMTP (outgoing mail server): mail.inbox.lv

• Шифрование: обязательно должен быть включен TLS или SSL
• Порт SMTP: 587 (в случае, если используется TLS)
• Порт SMTP: 465 (в случае, если используется SSL)

В случае если Вы используете IMAP протокол:

IMAP (incoming mail server): mail.inbox.lv

• Шифрование: обязательно должен быть включен SSL
• Порт IMAP: 993

SMTP (outgoing mail server): mail.inbox.lv

• Шифрование: обязательно включен TLS или SSL
• Порт SMTP: 587 (в случае, если используется TLS)
• Порт SMTP: 465 (в случае, если используется SSL)

. Также обязательно необходимо:

1. Разрешить доступ к Вашему почтовому ящику через POP3/IMAP/SMTP протоколы. По умолчанию – это выключено.

2. Убедитесь, что в поле »имя ползователа» указано полное название почтового ящика, например, 12345@ inbox.lv

3. В настройках почтовой программы необходимо включить режим авторизации для исходящего SMTP почтового сервера.

! Обязательно провертьте настройку в почтовой программе «оставлять копию писем на сервере». По умолчанию, она выключена — это значит, что все или часть писем в вашем почтовом ящике может изчезнуть (не станет доступна через веб-интерфейс).

Внимание! Настройка «Разрешить доступ через внешний POP3/IMAP и SMTP сервер» может автоматически отключаться. В момент отключения на вашу почту придет уведомление о том, что POP3/IMAP доступ был блокирован с указанием возможной причины. Подробнее о том, почему это происходит?

Ограничения:

Если Bаша почтовая программа не поддерживает шифрование SSL, то возможно использовать настройки, которые указаны здесь.

Для пользователей Inbox Mail (в отличии от платных пользователей Inbox Mail+) действуют ограничения на отсылку писем через SMTP сервер mail.inbox.lv – не более 15 писем в чаc но и не больше 5 писем в минуту.

Помните, что используя почтовую программу, Вы можете проверять новую почту не чаще чем 1 раз в 5 минут.

В связи с ограничениями протокола POP3, невозможно одновременно проверять один почтовый ящик с двух различных компьютеров или устройств.

При злоупотреблении сервисом, а также при нарушении правил пользования inbox.lv, возможность отправки сообщений блокируется автоматически.

Если пользователь становится неактивным – pop3 доступ отключается.
