Find your Windows product key

A Windows product key is a 25-character code used to activate Windows. It looks like this:

PRODUCT KEY: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

Locate your product key for Windows 10

Depending on how you got your copy of Windows 10, you’ll need either a 25-character product key or a digital license to activate it. A digital license (called a digital entitlement in Windows 10, Version 1511) is a method of activation in Windows 10 that doesn’t require you to enter a product key. Without one of these, you won’t be able to activate your device.

Where to find your product key depends on how you got your copy of Windows.

Select any of the following to see more information:

The product key is preinstalled on your PC, included with the packaging the PC came in, or included on the Certificate of Authenticity (COA) attached to the PC. The product key is on a label or card inside the box that Windows came in. For more info, contact the retailer that sold you Windows 10. How to tell your software is genuine.

Find your product key in the confirmation email you received after buying Windows 10 or in a digital locker accessible through the retailer’s website.

The product key is in the confirmation email you received after buying your digital copy of Windows. Microsoft only keeps a record of product keys if you purchased from the Microsoft online store. You can find out if you purchased from Microsoft in your Microsoft account Order history.

If you upgraded to Windows 10 for free from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, you should have a digital license instead of a product key.

If you bought Windows 10 Home, Professional, or Upgrade to Pro in the Windows 10 Store app, you’ll receive a digital license instead of a product key. You can use the digital license for activation.

If your product key is scratched, blurred, or otherwise unusable, contact the retailer who sold you the product. If you aren’t able to get help from your retailer or have already tried and couldn’t get a working key, call Microsoft Support.

Locate your product key for Windows 7 or Windows 8.1

A product key is usually required when uninstalling or reinstalling Windows 7 or Windows 8.1. Generally, if you bought a physical copy of Windows, the product key should be on a label or card inside the box that Windows came in. If Windows came preinstalled on your PC, the product key should appear on a sticker on your device. If you’ve lost or can’t find the product key, contact the manufacturer. Установка ключа продукта Install a Product Key

С помощью средства управления активацией корпоративных лицензий (VAMT) можно установить розничный ключ, ключ многократной активации (MAK) и ключ сервера службы управления ключами (CSVLK). You can use the Volume Activation Management Tool (VAMT) to install retail, Multiple Activation Key (MAK), and KMS Host key (CSVLK).

Установка ключа продукта To install a Product key

Откройте VAMT. Open VAMT.

На панели слева выберите продукт, для которого необходимо установить ключи. In the left-side pane, click the product that you want to install keys onto.

Можно воспользоваться функцией Filter, чтобы сузить область поиска компьютеров. Для этого нажмите Filter на панели справа, чтобы открыть диалоговое окно Filter Products. You can use the Filter function to narrow your search for computers by clicking Filter in the right-side pane to open the Filter Products dialog box.

В диалоговом окне Filter Products можно отфильтровать список по имени компьютера, названию продукта, типу ключа продукта, состоянию лицензии или любому сочетанию этих параметров. In the Filter Products dialog box, you can filter the list by computer name, product name, product key type, license status, or by any combination of these options.

В представлении списка продуктов на центральной панели отсортируйте список (при необходимости) и выберите продукты для установки ключей. In the products list view in the center pane, sort the list if needed and then select the products that need to have keys installed. Можно выбрать несколько продуктов с помощью клавиши CTRL или SHIFT. You can use the CTRL key or the SHIFT key to select more than one product.

Нажмите Install product key в меню Selected Items на панели справа, чтобы открыть диалоговое окно Install Product Key. Click Install product key in the Selected Items menu in the right-side pane to display the Install Product Key dialog box.

В диалоговом окне Select Product Key отображаются ключи, которые доступны для установки. The Select Product Key dialog box displays the keys that are available to be installed. В разделе Recommended MAKs VAMT может отображать один или несколько рекомендуемых ключей MAK в зависимости от выбранных продуктов. Under Recommended MAKs, VAMT might display one or more recommended MAK based on the selected products. Можно выбрать рекомендуемый ключ продукта или ключ продукта из списка All Product Keys. You can select a recommended product key or a product key from the All Product Keys list. Используйте полосу прокрутки, чтобы просмотреть описания каждого ключа в разделе Description. Use the scroll bar if you need to view the Description for each key. Выбрав ключ продукта, который нужно установить, нажмите Install Key. When you have selected the product key you want to install, click Install Key. Обратите внимание, что нельзя установить несколько ключей одновременно. VAMT отображает диалоговое окно Installing product key во время попытки установить ключ продукта для выбранных продуктов. VAMT displays the Installing product key dialog box while it attempts to install the product key for the selected products. По окончании этого процесса его состояние отобразится в столбце Action Status диалогового окна. When the process is finished, the status appears in the Action Status column of the dialog box. Нажмите кнопку Close, чтобы закрыть диалоговое окно. Click Close to close the dialog box. Также, когда откроется диалоговое окно, можно установить флажок Automatically close when done. You can also click the Automatically close when done check box when the dialog box appears.

Это же состояние отображается в столбце Status of Last Action в представлении списка продуктов на центральной панели. The same status is shown under the Status of Last Action column in the product list view in the center pane.

Установка ключа продукта завершится ошибкой, если VAMT найдет несоответствующие типы или выпуски ключей. Product key installation will fail if VAMT finds mismatched key types or editions.
