I’m looking for a bluetooth driver for subject device in my Zbook 15 Gen 1 for Windows 10. I recently went through this exercise for Windows 7 (other thread here) and was given link to the correct solution driver by Paul_Tikkanen. My company is making the shift to Win10 now that 7 is no longer supported.

The package SP61660 that was linked by Paul for Win7 does not work with Win10, unfortunatley. Is there an option that will?

The hardware id is:

Device is Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235

WiFi portion of the card is working and recognized.

Package SP75982 that was recommended by Paul doesn’t work, per this thread. There is a solution at the end that links to an Intel page that was shut down for support in November 2019.

Driver version from Intel claimed to work was 19.11.1637

See if this driver works.

If not, then I would say you are out of luck, since support has been discontinued for that model wifi card.

For $20 — $25, I would just replace the wifi card to the one listed in your notebook’s service manual, which has W10 driver support into 2019. Plus it is dual band AC with a throughput of up to 867 MBPS

The card is readily available on Amazon or eBay.

Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.

As for the new WiFi card, it’s a thought that I have entertained — worth $20 of my own for sure and the IT gang would (probably) be willing to let me swap to a «certified device» that is «compatible» with our «tools.» However, I’m long overdue for a new machine as my Gen 1 is way past the warranty contract we have with HP. A couple people on my team had some motherboard and larger scale issues that I pushed for priority over me in the last couple lots of upgrade machines. In the last 2 years, we’ve been upgrading to Gen 3 machines, but parts dried up with HP last summer. (It takes our company a while to vet machine configurations. ) So, the upgrades basically stopped, except for a couple emergency machines they kept on hand. A couple weeks ago, Gen 6 machines started rolling in. I’m hoping I can get one soon. I hope it was worth the wait. I’m really not looking forward to losing my *real* docking station from the Gen1/2 machines. USB-C is not a robust physical connection. But, I digress.

About Wireless LAN Drivers:

И так, было решено заменить на ноутбуке беспроводной адаптер. Устаревший Intel WiMAX/WiFi Link 5150 в конфигурации 512AGX MRU не имел поддержки ни WiFi Direct, ни 802.11n, ни раздачи проводного интернета через WiFi. Сетей WiMAX в моем текущем городе нет и ее поддержка больше не требовалась, а вот поддержка Bluetooth 4.0 LE была крайне желательна. Выбор пал на Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 в конфигурации 6235ANHMW.

Заказ и трекинг

Покупка была оплачена 28-го ноября. Сразу после оплаты получил сообщение от продавца, что уже пакует и скоро отправит, хотя сам я ему до этого не писал:). Чуть позже появился трек-номер. Ровно через месяц, 28-го декабря, трекинг на сайте Почты России сообщил, что 27-го утром моя посылка прибыла в почтовое отделение. Продавцу оставил хороший feedback, на что получил благодарственное письмо (вдобавок к позитивному отзыву мне, оставленному в день покупки).

Упаковка и установка

Half-size mini PCIe карта (26.8mm x 30mm) была обмотана в 7-8 слоев пупырки)))). После распаковки внимательно посмотрел контакты – карта ни разу не была вставлена.

Замерил, вырезал из пластика адаптер с половинного на полный размер mini PCIe, после чего подключил антенны и включил комп, предварительно установив последние драйверы. Под Windows xp, с которого мне не хочется пересесть на семерку (тоже установленную на том же компе), все определилось и установилось как было задумано. Bluetooth версии 4.0 с поддержкой Low Energy, работает через USB шину, а WiFi a/b/g/n – через PCI express.

WiFi Direct, режим точки дотупа и танцы с бубном

После установки начались поиски способов как подключить Android смартфон через WiFi Direct и как создать точку доступа для раздачи проводного интернета. Оказалось, эти возможности под Windows xp не поддерживаются и только семерка и восьмерка позволят воспользоваться ими. Windows 7 у меня была уже параллельно установлена и с большим нежеланием я решил все-таки перезагрузиться под семерку.
После установки последних дров с оф. сайта была загружена программа Intel My WiFi Dashboard и тут меня ждал сюрприз – программа открывалась в Lite режиме, в которой создание точки доступа недоступно.
Просторы сети открыли мне способ решения проблемы – надо удалить все драйвера, в том числе и на Bluetooth, и установить последнюю версию пакета Intel My WiFi Dashboard, в которой есть “правильные” версии драйверов. Трюк прошел успешно и программа открылась в Full режиме с активной кнопкой Hotspot. Через WiFi Direct тоже подключается, только я пока не понял как можно это подключение использовать))).

Точка доступа включается буквально одним кликом мышки, но мой китайский умный телефон с Android 4.2.2 на борту почему-то подключается к ней со скоростью 65 или 72 мбит/с, хотя в настройках адаптера энергосберегающие функции отключены, а мощность передатчика/приемника выставлена на максимум. Отключение Bluetooth тоже не помогает. В общем, без странностей не обошлось:)
