Пожалуйста,и если можно напишите как работает Intel HD Graphics 3000,есть на него драйвер и работает графическое ускорение для HD фильмов?
Мне надо знакомой ноутбук для Lubuntu подобрать.

Фильм HD, вес файла 10,6 ГиБ. Разрешение фильма 1920х1080.
Этих данных достаточно? Или есть команда для более детального вывода?

Драйверы включены в ядро системы.

Если у вас 12.10, то нужно зайти в источники приложений и посмотреть — не предлагает ли убунту дополнительные драверы (последняя закладка).

Если у вас 12.04, или более старая версия, то в меню в настройках ищите «Дополнительные драйверы» (или что то вроде этого).

Установка драйвера Intel в Ubuntu

В отличие от драйверов видеокарт от других производителей, таких как Nvidia и AMD, часть драйвера Intel для интегрированных видеокарт встроена в ядро, а другая часть в пакет mesa-utils. Таким образом если вы используете последнюю версию ядра и свежую версию mesa-utils то, скорее всего, вы используете самую свежую версию драйвера Intel.

В этой статье мы рассмотрим как выполняется установка драйвера Intel в Ubuntu если он не установлен по умолчанию, а также как получить самую последнюю версию.

Официальный установщик драйверов Intel

Раньше существовал установщик драйверов от Intel, позволяющий установить последнюю версию драйвера в Ubuntu или Fedora, но потом компания прекратила поддержку этой утилиты. Скачать её можно здесь. Но последняя версия пакета вышла в 2018 году, и с тех пор уже вышло много новых ядер и новых версий дистрибутива Ubuntu. Сейчас в репозиториях Ubuntu версия драйвера более новая чем там.

Установка драйвера Intel в Ubuntu

Вы можете посмотреть какой сейчас драйвер видеокарты используется с помощью команды lspci:

Как видите, в данном примере используется i915, это драйвер видеокарты от Intel. Он работает и ничего больше устанавливать не нужно. Если же в этой строчке находится что-то другое, можно попытаться установить драйвер.

Для установки части драйвера для Xorg и Mesa достаточно установить в систему такие пакеты:

sudo apt install xserver-xorg-video-intel

sudo apt install mesa-utils

Если вы хотите получить самую последнюю версию драйвера можно воспользоваться специальным PPA. Для добавления репозитория в систему выполните:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:oibaf/graphics-drivers

Затем просто обновите систему и перезагрузите компьютер:

sudo apt full-upgrade

Выводы

Вот и все. Теперь вы знаете как выполняется установка драйвера Intel Ubuntu. В отличие от драйверов для Nvidia, в большинстве случаев здесь всё уже установлено. Intel hd graphics 3000 линукс

I am making a separate discussion for this issue as recommended by the OP of the Known Bug List.

System: i5, HD 4000, Ubuntu 13.4, all settings on low.
1.Framerate drops to zero every few seconds. It sounds as though I am still controlling the character when the screen stops responding. The framerate will pick back up after a few seconds and act like this cyclically.
2. There is tearing and artifacting occuring on the Main Character’s face.

gbrown, same problems. Disabling AA, Shadows and other effects helps to solve most of the freezes, but framerate is still crappy:( And yes, face textures are also smashed.

Ubuntu 12.04.
OpenGL vendor string: Intel Open Source Technology Center
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) Ivybridge Mobile
OpenGL version string: 3.0 Mesa 9.2.0
OpenGL shading language version string: 1.30

Intel i7 w/ HD 4000, running on Ubuntu 12.10

With the graphics settings turned all the way down, the artifacting doesn’t appear nearly as often, but the framerate drops and the screen not responding still makes the game unplayable for me.

I decided to upgrade my system to the Linux Mint 15 RC, rather than Ubuntu 13.04.
Brutal Legend seems to be getting slightly better performance under Cinnamon than it did under Unity, but that might also just be a result of newer drivers, or something else.

But the game is still unplayable for me.
Kind of a shame too considering my system actually exceeds what is listed as the reccomended specs for Linux on the store page.

OS: Linux Mint 15 (64-bit)
Processor: Intel i7 3630QM CPU (2.4 GHz, quad core w/ hyperthreading)
Memory: 16 GB of RAM
Graphics: Intel HD 4000 Graphics

question did u happen to install 3ddri i know intel cards dont do st3c texture compression by default and needs to be enabled 9 times out of 10 the app will stop u from luaching but games that dont you will get strange behavor. MIssing textures lower framerate

I’m not seeing any package labeled as «3ddri» in my package manager, though there are dri-related packages that are installed.

I’m pretty sure I have it, considering every other game I’ve attempted to play on this machine runs on a decent framerate and without any real issues. TF2, Serious Sam 3, Killing Floor, Psychonauts, etc. all work great. Brutal Legend is the only one I’ve tried where I’m getting these framerate drop and artifacting issues.

Has the game been optimized to run on Intel HD Graphics on Linux? Can I hope for a patch? I’d love to play this game but for now this is the only (working) computer I own.

Hi. I’m using the Intel HD Graphics 3000 card , I used to have Ubuntu 16 and Linux mint 18 without any problems but now everytime that I try to reproduce a video it’s very slow on VLC or YouTube, for example.

When I look in the Driver manager I am just using a Wireless Network Adapter private driver.

Do I need to install the Intel graphic driver? if so, how I do it?
Is there any other thing that I should try?

If your Intel GPU is recent enough (2007 or newer) it is recommended to remove the legacy Intel driver «xserver-xorg-video-intel» and to use the built-in modesetting driver instead:

The legacy driver is no longer maintained and only useful for the old i800x and i900x family of chipsets.

Mint 18 used the intel driver but Mint 19 uses the modesetting driver. However, the xserver-xorg-video-intel package is still installed. You can try testing the intel driver. It was supposed to give better performance but was more buggy.

Use this command in the Terminal to create an xorg.conf file: sudo touch /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Then use this command to open the file for editing: xed admin:///etc/X11/xorg.conf

I’m using Cinnamon desktop on Mint 19 (as you guess before), do you have any other suggestion?

Check your browser’s 3D acceleration settings. I’ve got similar hardware and no issues with browser video playback in Chrome other than a bit of a hike in CPU usage with 3D acceleration active in Chrome.

There are some video acceleration helper packages not installed by default which may also help I’ve only installed them since being on 19 and I can’t say I’ve noticed any particular difference but they might help apt install va-drivers-all libvdpau-va-gl1 vdpau-va-driver

My inxi if you want to compare..

My inxi if you want to compare..

I check using Chrome, Firefox, and Firefox Developer Edition. The problem persist. Also it’s the same slow video reproduction on local files using VLC.

When I tried to install the packages you mention, there is a error telling me that apt can find the va-drivers-all package.

And finally thanks for sharing your setting, yes our hardware it’s pretty similar but our graphics drivers aren’t I feel like this has to do with my problem:

That’s the name of the Intel graphics chipset, not the graphics driver.
EDITED : that’s the name of the intel kernel module.

Was the graphics info you posted obtained after removing the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file I told you to create?
It shows there is software rendering of the graphics. Would you post the Xorg.0.log file. Use this command to open it:
xed /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Also post the output of this command: inxi -SMC
