Описание
Intel HD Graphics 4000 – интегрированная видеокарта, которая создавалась для 3-го поколения процессоров Intel Core и Celeron. Она поддерживает различные особенности DirectX 11, включая DirectCompute, динамические шейдеры и аппаратную тесселяцию. Видеокарта использует шейдерную модель 5.0. Intel® HD Graphics 4000 Driver Series Windows 10 64bit
I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 and the only issue I have is with the above Intel Graphics Drivers
Windows stops them from running stating «Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)»
The upgrade is from Windows 8.1 to 10 there was no indication that there would be an issue when I upgraded it updated very quickly and efficiently
The update was on a ACER ICONIA W700 Tablet purchased in 2013
I have contacted ACER and they will be not be supporting upgrades for this model
Looking at the Intel site it says that support will be given for Windows 10 but the only link I can find is to :
«Intel® HD Graphics Production Driver for Windows* 10 32-bit (N-Series)»
Firstly this is 32bit and not 64 bit ?
Secondly it says that support will be through windows updates I have not had any notification for this on the operating system as yet
Intel also do confirm that support will be given for this chipset on this page
6 Microsoft Windows 10 drivers for 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel® HD Graphics 4000 and 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel® HD Graphics 2500 (formerly codenamed Ivy Bridge) will include support for Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) 1.3 . For reference, WDDM 1.2 features are available on Microsoft’s Web site. This Windows 10 driver will not be digitally signed which means that it will not have been tested by Microsoft Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). Note that Windows will alert you with a message if a driver is not digitally signed but you can continue the installation.
But I cannot find anyway of getting this driver resource either from Microsoft or Intel ?

Speaking on chat to a Microsoft Technician they have confirmed that they are working on a graphic driver update so we will have to wait and see

Sorry to know that you are facing this issue.
Providing the latest driver is the responsibility of the hardware manufacturer and in this case Microsoft and Intel are working together to bring a compatible driver for Windows 10. Once the driver is ready you will get the notification on your computer through Windows Updates and you will also get the download link on the Intel website. You will get the updates for your hardware device probably you might have to wait for this update.
All hardware devices need 64-bit drivers to work on a 64-bit version of Windows. Drivers designed for 32-bit versions of Windows don’t work on computers running 64-bit versions of Windows.
If the program is specifically designed for the 64-bit version of Windows, it won’t work on the 32-bit version of Windows. (However, most programs designed for the 32-bit version of Windows do work on the 64-bit version of Windows).
Device drivers designed for the 64-bit version of Windows don’t work on computers running a 32-bit version of Windows.

i have the same intel graphics processor in an asus ux31a with toutchscreen. after update to windows 10 the screen resolution looks like that of windows 3! whatever settings i use the problem remains.
So yes please, new drivers. hope it will help.

I have the exact same issue. My graphic card is intel hd 3000 and it cant work even when i try to update or do everything. Nothing works. I have to disable to driver remotely to use my laptop now.
Please let us know what to do with it. I do believe there are a lot of ppl with the same issue, but are not technical enough to find out the problem.

I have tried a link that was posted via Intel in the last couple of days, stating drivers for windows 10 64bit I have downloaded the EXE as well as the ZIP
These are similar to latest drivers that are available for Windows 8.1 same ref number unfortunately gives me the same error I would be interested if anyone has any success with them
Still will have to wait for Microsoft to send us something via Windows update hopefully soon or I will have to return to 8.1 as HD video does not run well now

I have fixed my issue. Turns out I need to update my bios to the latest. I updated my bios from A03 to A12 for my mother board.
I think it might be related to the fastboot the Win 10 is using, might be the bios couldn’t support the graphics.
Give it a try. Find the latest Bios for your motherboard and see if it works.

Hey, I have had a similar problem with an N-Series Asus, also running an Intel HD 4000.
I have had to go back to running Windows 8.1. which is massively disappointing as it had started by running Windows 10 beautifully!
If I re-run Windows 10 (Which is a little time consuming!) is there any update that I should not install so I don’t get the black screen of death??
. failing that. could you not allow computers to update until this issue is totally fixed?

I have fixed my issue. Turns out I need to update my bios to the latest. I updated my bios from A03 to A12 for my mother board.
I think it might be related to the fastboot the Win 10 is using, might be the bios couldn’t support the graphics.
Give it a try. Find the latest Bios for your motherboard and see if it works.
I checked with ASUS and this is the latest BIOS for the machine and seen as its not supported by them anymore I think its going to be dead end for me

It looks like I am going to have to wind back my machine before the time runs out to do it which is going to be a shame, but I have no choice as HD does not work well with the standard MS drivers in place and I too get the black screen of death
You would think hardware built for Windows 8 would be fully supported I appreciate Win 7 users might have issues but not machines that are only 2 years old

Just a note to say that all attempts to update have failed, it seems other people are have the same issue as me
Unfortunately I am going to have to return to Windows 8.1 to get back a fully functioning machine , which is disappointing going forwards as I will never know if a successful patch will be available without trying to upgrade again
