Hey, im trying to install Pac Man Adentures in Time on Windows 10 and i have this error, there is no an option to intall directx myself so i dont know what to do :/

The ISDX error occurs when the game installer

is trying to install an older version of DirectX over a newer version.

is there an option to do a custom install.

if during the install there is no option to stop the install of direct X

then you will have to find another game, because that will never install

unless you stop the installing Direct X from the game installer.

if you get it installed without direct x

then come back here, DirectX 9.0c is what you will probably have to install.

it has some components required by older games to run

that are actually missing from newer versions of Direct X

Thinking about it,

you could try installing DirectX 9.0c first and see if that works,

maybe not but worth a try.

NOTE: directx_Jun2010 is the last updated vrsion of DirectX 9.0c

During the install it will not install everything it has,

it will just install components it sees as missing.

Make a new folder on your desktop.

double click on the directx_Jun2010_redist.exe

then click on run if asked,

then click yes on the license agreement,

a small window will open asking where to place the files,

click on browse and choose the new folder on your desktop,

when it has finished unpacking, then

open the new folder on your desktop and double click on the DXSETUP.EXE

if user account control ask permission, click on yes.

another license agreement will open,

click on i accept then click on next,

then click on next again in the new window that appears

to start the installation.

When it has finished you can delete the folder on your desktop,

then put the directx_Jun2010_redist installer in a safe place for future use.

To help resolve this problem, use the tool (SFC.exe) System File Checker to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally made programs, Accessories, right-click guest, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.
Type the following command and press ENTER: sfc/scannow (Yes there is a space after sfc) the sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions. This analysis do take some time to complete.
