Как удалить istat menus с макбука

Удаляла через встроенный аннисталлер, но в менюбаре все равно программа присутствует, сканируя систему!
К сожалению, откатиться назад в Тайм машин не удалось: слишком давно делала бэкап((((

Подозреваю, что через 14 дней, когда закончится срок бесплатной версии, меня будут досаждать сообщениями «купите-купите-купите».
Можно как-нибудь вручную вычистить эту программу-сорняк? Собственно, к ее работе претензий нет, но заметила, что реально тормозится видео в Скайпе — как раз с тех пор, как ее поставила. А Скайпом я пользуюсь очень активно, вот поэтому и решилась на удаление. Не ожидала подобной засады.

Проблема решилась повторной установкой программы и последующим ее удалением через контекстное меню (а не через аннинсталлер в Файндере)

I thought I had removed it by dragging, or highlighting it and clicking on DELETE, or something else. Anyway, it disappeared, and cannot be found with SPOTLIGHT. The problem is that its icon (sometimes three and sometimes six of them) is on my menu bar and i can’t remove them. When I click on one of these icons, I get a dropdown menu entitled, «Demo Expired». Under that is BUY, REGISTER, and UNINSTALL. Needless to say, clicking on the UNINSTALL button doesn’t help. My first object is to remove those icons, but I’d also like to do something to the people responsible for this. In searching for a remedy to this problem, I found many others who have, or had, the same problem. It just seems to me that the creators of this trap should be made accountable, «be brought to justice,» as it were. I’ll settle for fixing the icon problem, but it would be a great bonus to be able to make good citizens of them.

One suggested fix was to reinstall their program and then uninstall it with their UNINSTALL feature. Being desperate, I tried that, but got no further than the point where I was asked for my password. Give my password to such @#$%#@$$%#? Never.

How do I uninstall Setapp when iStat is running?

I’m trying to uninstall the Setapp. I was going to think about renewing my subscription later but it forced my hand because iStat constantly pops up a windows that says:

Your Setapp subscription is no longer active, and iStat Menus Status cannot be opened.

If I cancel, quit, drag to the trash or kill iStat it always comes back. So now I’m trying to uninstall Setapp but I’m running into the same problem. The uninstall dialog wants me to quit iStat but no amount of hitting the ‘Quit’ button will make iStat go away and thus I can’t uninstall Setapp.

/Library/Application\ Support/Setapp/ rm -rf

iStat Menus is a little different to other apps, in that it is intended to always be running and in your menubar. The main app is used to configure its settings. Throwing the main app in the trash won’t remove it from your system (we wish it could, but that’s not technically possible).

The normal way to uninstall iStat Menus is to choose iStat Menus → Uninstall from the menubar inside the iStat Menus app, then click Uninstall.

For those using Setapp, here’s some specific instructions.

Uninstalling iStat Menus with an active Setapp account

If you have an active Setapp account, please choose iStat Menus → Uninstall from the menubar, then click Uninstall.

Uninstalling iStat Menus without an active Setapp account

If you don’t have an active Setapp account, please run /Library/Application Support/iStat Menus 5/iStat Menus Uninstaller.app

You can get to the uninstaller by choosing Go → Go to Folder while in the Finder, then pasting /Library/Application Support/iStat Menus 5/iStat Menus Uninstaller.app into the text field and clicking Go.
